The Maharishi Maha M.A.L.I.C.E. Backpack is a premium high-capacity field pack equipped with three external ALICE-style front pouch pockets, hidden slip side pockets and securing straps underneath. The adjustable brain and double cinched lip allow approx. expansion 50% height extension, additional key features of the Maharishi Maha M.A.L.I.C.E. ALICE is a modular carrying system developed by the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war era. The main feat was the lightweightness of it, resulting in a reduction in the combat soldier's overall load. It’s still widely deployed within South American and Middle Eastern troops. The M.A.L.I.C.E. bag series by Maharishi brings the spirit of ALICE into contemporary civilian domain.

A padded back and Moleskin-lined shoulder straps offer comfortable carry throughout the day, even with heavy loads. Since the release of Porter-Yoshida & Co.'s 2001 A/W series, the company have added items that match the lifestyle of the time, and have a rich line-up that can be used by a wide range of people, from business bags to small items.

The main material is varistor nylon made in Japan woven with 66 nylon thread, which is also used for car airbags and bulletproof vests, and has excellent heat resistance, abrasion resistance, and tear strength. Some parts are made of highly water-resistant tarpaulin fabric, which is used as an industrial material. Although the Porter-Yoshida & Co. Heat Rucksack is a one-tone black color, it has a stylish design with contrast by combining fabrics with different textures.

Military gimmicks are added everywhere, and the PALS (Pouch Attachment Ladder System), which allows you to attach pouches and small items by sewing nylon tape at regular intervals, is also a point. A D-Rings-ring and a double ring are also attached to the main unit so that you can attach small items with a snap hook or wallet chain.

The main body of the bag is made with thick nylon tape that is woven at high density at key points, giving the Porter-Yoshida & Co. Heat Rucksack a three-dimensional silhouette that prevents the fabric from sagging and provides good handling.

The high-quality Italian cowhide used for the shoulder straps and reinforcements is very strong and durable enough for equestrian accessories - it has been slowly vegetable tanned over several weeks in natural, plant-based solutions that transform high-quality cowhides into sturdy, supple and shiny leather that will mold to the anatomical shape of the rucksack wearer for decades. The stainless, sturdy zipper on the main compartment of the Filson Backpack Large extends down the sides of the bag for easy access to the contents; it's reinforced with thick Italian cowhide leather and is protected by a large storm flap. The two front pockets are gusseted to increase capacity and are secured by press studs on the flaps.
