Basic Rhythm follows up his album 'On The Threshold' with an EP that lays out the explicit connections between hardcore and footwork. A connection made even clearer by the inclusion of a rare remix by Chicago footwork originator RP Boo. 2 Da Core's punchy rolling drums are levelled up against rough samples and a vocal hook pitched up and down in classic hardcore style. Get Up runs a tubby bass under hazy vocal samples and weird sound effects. RP Boo's remix of 2 Da Core disassembles the track into pieces, building a stalking helicopter-like rhythm which plays hide and seek with the samples, while the closing track Nuh Ramp rounds off the EP with tumbling micro-edited rhythms and a melody built from small colourful sounds that draw on the Caribbean roots of this music.

Jatinder Singh Durhailay and David Edren released Tea Notes as a cassette back in April of 2018. London-based Jatinder Singh Durhailay is a painter and student of Indian Classical music. He has trained in both the sitar and the Hindi singing technique, Dhrupad. He also plays two traditional Sikh instruments; the bowed, stringed Dilruba and Taus. Poetic Pastel Press issued his solo debut, The Last Ballad Of Mardana, in 2017. David Edren`s expertise lies with machines and modular synthesis. His Kosmische and New Age-Inspired electronics have featured on numerous cassettes, and compilations, produced for imprints from the current Belgian underground, such as Jj Funhouse, Social Harmony, and Ultra Eczema. These recordings appearing, since the turn of the millennium, either under his own name, or the moniker DSR Lines. Jatinder and David’s collaboration, Tea Notes, is a celebration, a meditation, on both the beverage, and the communal time shared imbibing. The coming together to partake in its ritual. Each of the six tracks represents a different infusion. The opening piece is a tribute to semi-oxidised Oolong, from China`s Wuyi Mountains, with hammered dulcimer-like glissando. Gongs shimmering, gently crashing, as if signaling a change in the weather. A calm of thin, stretched synths and Ai angels introduces Tulsi from India. The Holy Basil of Hinduism, used in the worship of Vishnu, Krishna, and Rama. A traditional herb of Ayurveda and Siddha medicine. Automated arpeggiated sequences raising a vibrating wall of hallucinatory sound. Pairing swooning strings with a racing robot heart. Ceylon is a modern twist on the classical raga. Serving to tell the story of a tea smuggled into Sri Lanka in the 19th century. Plants stolen from South West China, where the brew had been enjoyed since the days of the Shang Dynasty (1766 to 1122 BC). The contraband founding fresh industry in its new home when the indigenous coffee crops failed. Muted organ and sleepy, treated sine wave microtones describe Kava, the Polynesian fireweed root, whose extract serves as both sedative and euphoriant.Shincha are the first young leaves of the season. Picked in Southern Japan and steamed to prevent oxidization, retain their flavour and green / gold colour. Their musical counterpart finds Edren establishing an ecclesiastical drone, while Durhailay`s strings chart an ancient romantic ache. Sonic stars shine. Singing out to the infinite, the universe, before dissolving into knots of Radiophonic Workshop noise.Melodies treated with subtle sustain and delay denote Pu-Ehr, from the Yunnan province. The only truly fermented black tea - made distinctive by the action of bacteria, moulds, and yeasts. Its musical themes hovering in the vapour trails, the atmospheres, they themselves create. Spiraling, soaring, reaching for the heavens, while pretty music box glitches - tiny chimes turned in on themselves. Catching, reflecting, like light at play on fresh running water. Paolo Mantini is back on Rebirth with the new composition ‘Jump Over The Hill’. Musician, poli-intrumentalist Paolo studied double bass at the Conservatory of Brescia (Italy) and attended Electronic Music Composition at the Berklee College of Music. He is also behind Clockbeats and he boasts a worldwide network of professionals within the Music Industry.
Paolo’s debut single in 2017, ’Next Generation’, remixed by Pépé Bradock, has been played and appreciated worldwide, with enthusiastic support. ‘Jump Over The Hill’ is another sublime piece of music, exploring rooted disco and funk, with a contemporary dancefloor swing, perfect to really get a party going. A killer mix of rolling drums, wobbling (rubber) bass line, jazzy chords and infectious piano lines.
We are very happy to have Dego and Kaidi aka 2000black on this project. They produce a timeless remix with their unique futuristic beats and a mix of jazz, soul and electronic vibes. Glenn Astro delivers a delightful modern jazz-synth-funk influenced version, and, included here, is also the sought after Shield re-edit of ‘Next Generation’ featuring a live drum played by Francisco Mora, known for his collaboration with Innerzone Orchestra and The Detroit Experiment, heavily supported by Gilles Peterson.

The psychedelic rock trio, named after the scary folk stories being told in Anatolia, was founded in the spring of 2016 in Istanbul by Cihan Önder on guitars and synthesizer, Emre Açıkgöz on bass guitar and Tayfun Gür on drums.
Bringing Anatolian motifs together with psychedelic elements, the band enjoys multiple partition broad compositions, long drones and fluid riffs taking you on an eclectic journey.It invites the audience to a dynamic atmosphere with experimental multi layered themes, live loops, hypnotical visuals and lively stage performance.
In the short time since the band started its musical journey, they played in various venues and finally at the end of 2016, published their eight track demo, titled “Kış Ayının Kabusu”. Following this, they went on playing in numerous festivals and
concerts, namely in Istanbul, Ankara and Eskişehir.
Playing in many local stages and festivals, they are also well received by music critics abroad and their songs got played on both national and international radio shows. In 2017 they published
online a three part video series, titled “Demirci Sessions”. Their intensive work in 2018 brought their 11 track album, titled “Bozkır”.
The vinyl release includes two new tracks.

Year Of The Witch was born in transit. In the interest of self-sufficiency, HXXS - aka Jeannie Colleene and Gavin Neves - initially recorded their debut album during a six month tour spent living out of their van. When inspiration struck (and it did so often), they'd record in parking lots, hotel rooms, laundromats - anywhere they happened to pull over. What emerged from these pit stops, strangely enough, was an album about moving forward. As with much of the art created in the wake of the 2016 presidential election, Year Of The Witch sizzles with the fresh sting of political anguish. Instead of firing off platitudes about a nation divided, however, Neves and Colleene choose to look inward at how this divide affects familial relationships. On "Hard To Tell," the duo sing, `it runs in the family, and they spread it all over, like forest to fire'. Like the California wildfires that were a fixture of their childhood - Neves is from San Jose and Colleene hails from Bakersfield - beliefs are inherited passively, and have equal capacity for destruction. And while the political climate of the time is a palpable force, the album remains anchored, always, in the personal. "I'm not asking for sympathy," they sing - with the help of TV On The Radio's Kyp Malone - "cut loose these ties." Year Of The Witch finds HXXS rifling through the ashes, working to salvage the roots.The concept of rebirth isn't just a theme on the album, however, it's also part of the process that created it. Back in 2017, after their initial roadside recordings were complete, the hard drive containing them was stolen. HXXS were forced to re-record the entire LP on a time crunch, largely from memory. But necessity bred invention, and this loss created a sense of sonic urgency that only strengthens the tracks. The result is a sonic roadmap to resilience: electronic noise punk for the fake news generation. Deep Club rounds out five years with its fifth addition to the label arm, a split 12-inch EP of raw, unbridled techno. Trespass / Cop Watch reaches outside of Deep Club’s inner circle, enlisting the talents of Grey People, one of the crew’s favorite American techno producers. After posting key releases for Proper Trax, CGI, and Public System Recordings, Grey People released 12-inches for Valcrond Video and Nerang Recordings, as well as a new album with fledgling French label 99cts Rcrds, all while commanding Nashville’s techno underground and helping run the budding TRAM Planet label and party crew. Adding to the fun, Occidental crawls back out of the shadows to contribute two brain-melting tracks to this split twelve.
Occidental starts it off with two not-so-similar versions of “Trespass”. “Trespass (Juss Feel It)” delivers 140 BPM of filthy frequencies straight to the brain stem in just over four minutes. You juss gotta feel it. Next, “Trespass Dat A$$” slows the pace down and turns up the spanking. This one is all about the thick, pulsing kickdrum, lush pads, and deep moans. The flip side belongs to Grey People. “Intercepting Encrypted Messages” channels a repetitive, bloopy synth rhythm and powerful drums before the hi-hats and claps smack the dancefloor. “Cop Watch” draws on Grey People’s Chicago roots for a dynamic and frenetic dance.
