These two minimal synth-pop pearls were first released on the compilation “Walkin’ After Midnight” in 1982 and are in the same vein as early 80’s singles by Carol (Breakdown) and Rive Gauche (Friends Are Friends). Both tracks on the 7” are a delightful proof of the lively and creative music scene in Brussels during the early eighties, supported by labels such as Factory Benelux and Les Disques Crépuscule and the famous venue Plan K. Occidental White was founded at same time as Kaa Antilope, the extraordinary new wave band founded by Bernard Vranckx and Frédéric Walheer. Bernadette was the additional member and took care of the vocal part. The idea was to do 'pop' songs inspired by occidental white culture, which was the opposite to Kaa Antilope which was more focused on outside inspiration.

We're back from hibernation after releasing the third Roundup at the end of 2016 and we're starting off with a new signing. Milan based Parker Madicine joins Heist with some high tech funk with a serious nod to the “D” and we've got Byron the Aquarius delivering a great jazzy remix. You'll be more likely to find Parker Madicine browsing through boxes of old jazz and soul records than you'll see him showcasing his social media skills. He's a real vinyl junky and moreover a hip hop fanatic and probably loves his synthesizers more than his mother. Apart from promoting funk and soul oriented parties in Milan, he founded CT-HI records, short for “Contemporary Theories of Hip Hop Influences". A few years back he teamed up a.o. with his buddies Veez-O and Turbojazz to create some Dilla and early 90's inspired hip hop and these influences are clearly present in his EP for Heist. With Heartbreaker, he lays down a dreamy but heavy groove for the first minute or so, arpeggiating its way to the moment where the airy pads make room for a looser than loose groove where synth stabs and bass line dance around each other creating a killer vibe. The tracks build further with some lovely brassy hits and arps, whereas Placebo is the most stripped back but high tempo track, where an airy and delayed bassline does most of the work to set the mood. Dieter Moebius (1944–2015) was one of the most important protagonists of avant-garde electronic music in Germany. He was founder member of Kluster/Cluster (with Conrad Schnitzer and Hans-Joachim Roedelius) and Harmonia (with Michael Rother and Hans-Joachim Roedelius) and worked together with several artists such as Brian Eno, Conny Plank, Mayo Thompson, Hellmut Hattler, Asmus Tietchens, Gerd Beerbohm, Karl Renziehausen, Mani Neumeier, Arno Steffen, Jürgen Engler, Jean Hervé Peron, Zappi Diermaier, and Chris Karrer. On July 20th, 2015 Dieter Moebius died.

In 2012 Dieter Moebius was invited to perform music to Fritz Lang’s legendary silent film “Metropolis”. For this purpose he produced pre-arranged tracks and samples to be treated with effects and combined during live improvisation according to the dramaturgical setting of the film. His impressive work reveals its full power and depth in combination with the images from the film.

It was his plan to create an album-length version of this music for release. Unfortunately, Dieter Moebius passed away on July 20, 2015 and was not able to complete the project. With the help and support of Dieter Moebius’ widow Irene and two longtime musical partners, Tim Story and Jon Leidecker, the Berlin musician Jonas Förster finished the remaining work and completed the production.

Born and raised in Brooklyn N.Y., Doom has been into the culture since the early 80's from being a Graff writer, a B-Boy, a DJ and a Hip Hop producer. He has been in the studio with numerous artists all over the globe. His latest album "Temple of Doom" was a great success and received positive reviews worldwide. It featured many veteran MC's, including Craig G, Large Professor, Prince Po, Krumbsnatcha, Blaq Poet, and Grand Daddy I.U. to name a few.

It was last year, when talks about this record started. Doom invited Reks and Blacastan to create what was originally planned a 7" single. After a few months of brainstorming, and organizing the content, together with Doom we decided to extend it to an EP format.

Though again, produced using the mighty SP1200, we present to you a completely different record than all of our previous releases, our first 10" vinyl.

'City Of God' featuring Reks is a powerful narrative about the violent state of affairs in many of America's cities. Inspired by the movie 'Cidade De Dios' by Fernando Meirelles, Reks gives the listener an in-depth descriptive about everyday events one has to experience in order to survive in a tough, concrete jungle. Doom's precisely chopped piano stabs complement his lyrics, adding further gloominess to the track.
There are two versions of 'City Of God' on this record, the original on Side A, and the "Park Bench Mix" featured on Side B.

On 'Transmitting Live', Blacastan schools all wanna-be rappers on what it takes to be a true, hard to the bone MC. The charismatic poet, Blac brings us right to the centre of action in a crime-filled neighborhood, where gang violence is omnipresent. His explosive delivery and gripping storytelling blends perfectly with Doom's grimey, head-nodding instrumental.

The last track on the EP is a bonus beat called "SP Madness". Like in all of the instrumentals on the 10", here Doom also utilized only 10 seconds of sampling time.

Bestie Aydin under the name Nene Hatun: a Turkish Berliner, crossing 'psychedelic-anatolian techno-pop' and 'dark drone wave music'.
Field recordings and samples — choral chants in church, du‘a’ from a mosque, small girls singing in the street — are layered with a piano prepared by placing various metals on the strings, and played by plucking or striking, often in the traditional rhythms of darbuka and davul.
"The A-Side is more classical in its form," says Bestie, "but the ideas are more unnoticeable. It's more technical, with a lot of small details and samples. The B-Side on the other hand is more obvious in ideas but the form is obscure, with my approach just to play on the gear and make something impulsive, and analyze after."

Already filed under "one of the heavy hitters of 2017" and anticipated by its first single, the title tracks "Soul Run" which is hitting the airwaves all around the globe, Soul Run is the debut album by Canadian raising soul star Tanika Charles.

The album produced among the others by Slakah The Beatchild (BBE Records), best known as a producer for his collaborations with Canadian rapper Drake, strikes a seamless balance between the warm authentic vintage Motown soul sound, yet contains a contemporary twist to it. A tricky thing to accomplish, however, Tanika has undeniably managed to achieve this, judging by the glowing reviews and support she's currently receiving from all around the globe.

In a few short years, Tanika Charles has transformed from an emerging solo artist to a commanding performer and bandleader, a staple in the Canadian soul scene, both on and off stage. Her touring career has seen her supporting the likes of Estelle, Haitus Kayote, Lauryn Hill and Macy Gray. Highly impressive, considering she is only just releasing her debut album to the world, after her low-key EP release, 'What! What? What!?', back in 2010.

Growing up on a musical diet of Patti Labelle, Jill Scott, Bob James, Stevie Wonder, D'Angelo, Bjork and The Black Crows, Charles' eclectic music taste subconsciously shines through in 'Soul Run', an album's name that came from a tragic part of Tanika's life.
