Silver Biplanes are Tim Vass (one half of Razorcuts - the Creation-signed indie pop darlings) and Vanessa Vass (singer of Radcliffe jangle pop favourites The Melons."A Moment In The Sun" is the debut long player by silver biplanes, a melodic indie band based in Bedfordshire, England. The band features wife-and-husband team Vanessa Vass and Tim Vass alongside drummer Rob Scott and the album is the pinnacle of a musical career which has previously seen Vanessa and Tim release songs on no fewer than 30 different labels between them!The band are lifelong fans of the highways and bi-ways of music and the album draws upon a wide range of influences. It's a heady mix of choruses, hooks and catchy tunes in which you'll hear traces of psychedelia, post-punk, krautrock and more.Tim was bassist and lyricist in cult indie band Razorcuts, co-writing all of their songs. Razorcuts releases regularly featured in the higher reaches of the independent charts throughout the late 80s, and included two top five albums recorded for the famous Creation label. Both albums were reissued in sellout deluxe vinyl editions in 2020. Razorcuts continue to appear on numerous compilations and their influence is often cited in books and internet articles. Tim has also played in Red Chair Fadeaway, Dandelion Wine and the Forever People.Vanessa was the singer in 90's indie band The Melons who are probably best remembered for their two legendary live sessions on Mark Radcliffe's Radio 1 show. The Melons released 6 singles and were regularly featured in the British music press.

Coming out of the boiling Munich scene of the sixties that also gave us the original Amon Düül (Thom Argauer had played in a dixieland band with Chris Karrer in the late 60s, actually), Siloah are one of the best kept secrets of the krautrock production. In 1972 Siloah had suffered a certain number of changes. Thom Argauer was still leading the project, but since his coleagues had left the farm in which they were all leaving he had to start again with new members Markus Krug and Florian Laber. He also looked for a more electric approach, himself moving from acoustic guitar to electric organ.

'Sukram Gurk' was the title chosen for their second LP. It was the name of Markus Krug spelled backwards. Markus' name was chosen because it was the one that sounded better phonetically to the ears of the trio. The sound of the album takes it all one step further, turning into an electric storm, yet retaining the free psychedelic improvisation feel of its predecessor.

The Wah Wah reissue is made in cooperation with Thom Argauer family, it has been cut from the original master tapes, has one bonus track not on the original LP added, features an insert with photos and liner notes and comes in a strictly limited edition of 500 copies only.

Coming out of the boiling Munich scene of the sixties that also gave us the original Amon Düül (Thom Argauer had played in a dixieland band with Chris Karrer in the late 60s, actually), Siloah are one of the best kept secrets of the krautrock production. Siloah had a hard core including Thom Argauer, Manuela von Perfall, Heinrich 'Tiny' Stricker and Wolfgang Görner, plus a host of guests coming and going, everybody was free to join and play at any time, guest members often joining from the Baumstassen commune around which the band was living before they eventually moved to an abandoned farm on the outskirts of town.

Their first LP is a trippy acid psychmasterpiece recorded in 1970 and privately issued on German Blues and Undergrund. It showed a strong influence from US West Coast psychedelic music and has a lovely acoustic approach. It's sound is free, full of improvisation and with a charming amateurish feel all through it. It will appeal to lovers of free spirits like Amon Düül themselves, Kalacakra or even Música Dispersa.

The Wah Wah reissue is made in cooperation with Thom Argauer family, it has been cut from the original master tapes, has original artwork (improved by printing it over a mirror finish silver cardboard), has two bonus track not on the original LP added, features an insert with photos and liner notes and comes in a strictly limited edition of 500 copies only.

Silky Steps hustles towards the scene trailblazed by Nile Rodgers, and currently held by the likes of Jungle, L'imperatrice and Parcels. The 5-piece hailing from Estonia's summer capital Pernau have their own concoction of neo-soul, nu-disco and pop-funk to offer, though. At the helm, a combo of male-female lead vocals sing about the X-rated side of life. Plentiful synths and suave basslines get all the right juices flowing. All the while a musical guest will pop in here and there to provide a sax solo, sing a ref or throw down a little rap.
The latter is especially true for their upcoming LP "Universal Language," as 2023 sees the group step up their game in a big way. Their 2nd single "Fly, Goodbye" took off as the title suggests and got its first BBC 6 airplay on the revered Cerys Matthews show. Robert Linna of Lexsoul Dancemachine lent his falsetto to the latter track, while MC Roki raps on "Falling For You" and Rahel collabs on the title-track. In total, there are 10 tracks on the album that's put out digitally and on vinyl via Funk Embassy Records - the Estonian imprint that recently won Record label of the Year at the local music industry awards.

The basic instrumental tracks for what would become Silkworm's final record "Chokes!" were recorded in 2005 at Electrical Audio, a few weeks before the death of drummer Michael Dahlquist. The songs were finished later that year & issued on CD on 12XU in 2006. It has been physically out of print for years & never pressed on vinyl until now. Limited to 800 copies. Comes with a digital download of the record plus a folder of 30+ bootlet SKWM recordings.

Mid nineties recording from this influential underground project. An incident between Porter Ricks, Spk, Throbbing Gristle and Silver Apples: Fiume is an industrial, power dub record with an unusual cadenza, and is inspired by the story of Whithead's Torpedo Factory, the first in the world, established in 1866 in the local polycultural context of the city of Fiume (currently Rijeka, HR), where the sound barrier was first broken through by Ernst Mach. The tracks contain underwater thunder, alarm sirens and a relentless progression of chords that evoke the war scenarios of the former Yugoslavia of the 90es, when the recording was made. This LP was born from the laborious recovering of a deteriorated DAT tape, mixed live using analogue equipment, and brutally recorded on a Panasonic SV 3700 without hesitation, editing, or retouching. Baking the sticky tapes to be able to play them one more time and transfer the audio suggested the idea of the name Sticky Shed, a new label that deals with recovering extreme, inspired, experimental and non-conformist material, following non-standard procedures, which now prove to be frighteningly relevant. Unparallelled.

Silk Road Assassins, a trio consisting of Tom E Vercetti, Chemist and Lovedr0id, return to Planet Mu with their debut full-length 'State Of Ruin' two years after their first EP 'Reflection Spaces'. The trio recorded over two years, working together to start with, then across different studios and via the internet when their lives became more separated. They also finessed the album at Abbey Road studios, making use of some short time to add in extra layers. The three producers day jobs are in production music, music designed and created specifically for film and games, and this album uses these skills to explore the musical forms that they love. The album explores how trap and grime's minimalist form can be built and curved into musical architecture: elegant, opaque and layered, turning the sound into lush, melodic world-building. The work gone into the album is revealed on repeated listens, every sound on this record feels built to sit within it's delicate ecosystem. The fundamentals of the music are given their own sense of purpose: hand claps spray, bells tumble, guitars splinter and lush melodies waft over and fill the track's spaces like light, glinting across snapping, crisp rhythms and deep bass tones. The album also features two Planet Mu alumini, Kuedo who features on 'Split Matter' brings some of his bitter-sweet shimmering melodies and on 'Shadow Realm' Russian producers WWWINGS give the music a violent metallic edge, providing the record with an epic and unexpected twist towards the end. Silk Road Assassins music is built to last, and a pleasure to indulge in.

Carl Finlow has been a prominent name in UK electro since the mid-90s, releasing music at an astonishing rate under a variety of monikers. Silicon Scally defines his most strictly electro-oriented project, reflective of the Kraftwerk era and the emerging electro-scene, with releases on respected labels such as Cultivated Electronics, CPU and of course 20/20 Vision, with music from a variety of Carl's monikers being amongst the labels earliest releases. 'Crushed' is a sought after album project originally self-released on Finlow's Bandcamp during the 2020 lockdown. We felt the release was to important to be overlooked without a much deserved run of vinyl, so have pressed a limited run of records featuring futuristic electro highlights and the best unreleased cuts. 'Proton Mass' kicks things off with perfectly crafted robotic funk, solid mechanical breaks and mind bending glitches, setting the landscape for a journey into the abyss with Silicon Scally unshakeably at the helm. 'Centronix' follows up with razor-sharp rocking beats, squelchy bass and jarring grooves as if designed for high pace no nonsense club sets from the likes of DJ Stingray or Helena Hauff. On the flip side 'Axiom' takes us deeper into the void with dark basslines, complex drums and unapologetically disorientating frequencies. A track that makes us question if Finlow has transcend to a future state where he is more machine than man, sending psychoactive messages in the form of killer electro cuts. 'Cascade Lasers' wraps up this epic dose of electro with interstellar energy, driving things home with deep bass wobbles, high octane breaks, wrapped grooves and tormenting yet playful synth licks. Yet another release that has us convinced the late great Andrew Weatherall was indeed correct! Silent Drive is a group of individuals whose musical history has been long in the making. Boasting members of Bane and Drowningman, Silent Drive’s personnel have been performing and writing within the independent music scene for close to 20 years. Though this four-piece has deep roots in the hardcore/metal scene, it is branching out far beyond the constraints of any genre. The recipe is strict: anything goes, as long as it rocks. “There is no melody too sweet and no riff too heavy for us...as long as it says what we want it to say, we have no boundaries,” comments bassist Pete Chilton. Musicians, first and foremost, any category they are put in will be superseded and canceled out by the fact they are fearless musicians who live for the song and for the process of bringing it to anyone who may enjoy it.
