Occasionally an album comes along that seems to capture the mood of the time. "The K&D Sessions" was one. In the late 1990s no afterparty, smoking session or languid Sunday afternoon was complete without Kruder & Dorfmeister blasting from the Bang & Olufsen. Now approaching it"s 25th anniversary the lore around this iconic release, steeped in a silvery cloud of smoke, retains a star quality which only shines brighter as time hurtles on. With the original having sold well over a million copies by this point in time, it"s hard to imagine a mix or remix compilation being able to inform a movement like "The K&D Sessions" has. To celebrate this monumental milestone, we"ve created a limited boxset in 6LP and 3CD of "The K&D Sessions", mastered and cut by LA luminary Bernie Grundman for a luxurious listening experience, with newly designed inner sleeves using unseen photos from the original photo shoot. Inserted in the box is a forty-page booklet containing multitudes more never before seen photos from the same shoot and notes which recount humorous tales surrounding the duo and the people who spent time with them in this epoch. Included on the 6th LP is their legendary 11 minute shimmering remix of Madonna"s "Nothing Really Matters". The 6th LP also contains Peter Kruder"s Powercut Mix of Roni Size"s "Heroes" and K&D"s remix of U.F.O, "L.O.V.E.". In addition there are two cerebral alternate remixes of Lewis Taylor, one being completely dubbed and the other the using the vocal line for this beautiful gem, "Lucky" and a special remix of "Speechless" by Count Basic. These have been staples in K&D"s sets and now take their rightful place collected in the canon of "The Sessions".

Before MF DOOM donned his mask and became one of the most prolific MC-producers of modern Hip-Hop, he was a member of KMD, an early `90s rap group whose work still goes criminally under-appreciated to this day. Following their 1991 debut album, Mr. Hood, the former trio shed one member leaving only two remaining - Subroc and his brother, Zev Love X (better known today as MF DOOM). Originally scheduled for release in 1994, their sophomore album Black Bastards showed clear progression from their debut. It was a truly amazing record, both sonically and lyrically, full of youthful creativity and tinged with the stresses of growing up as Black men in urban America. Songs like the lead single "What A N*gga Know", the slippery, bass-driven "Get U Now", and the album's title track explore Black consciousness viewed through young-but-experienced eyes. Musically alternating between bouncy and raw - many times both, concurrently - the tracks gave the MC's the springboard they needed to express themselves clearly. Sadly, Subroc would face a sudden and untimely death in 1993, just as the duo were finishing the album. Grief-stricken, his brother Zev Love X - now the sole remaining member of the group - was determined to carry the legacy of KMD onward, but Elektra Records unceremoniously shelved the project in the eleventh hour, due to controversy surrounding the album's provocative cover art. Following the fallout with Elektra, Zev tried for years to release the album on other labels, but he was continually met with dead ends. Struggling through the pain of losing his brother, coupled with the inability to release their final project together, a discouraged Zev Love X quietly withdrew from the scene and began quietly plotting his revenge on an industry that had broken him spiritually. Thus, in order to understand the true origin story of the super-villain, MF DOOM, one must recognize and appreciate the evolution of his former group, KMD, and the backstory of their pivotal album, Black Bastards.

Embracing Lo-Fi as a tonal palette (with levels balanced by the masterful Greg Saunier of Deerhoof), Infinite Possible Futures is one of the rare records that leaves the listener blissed out and grinning; wrapped in a warm glow, full-hearted, and just a touch disoriented. Mayya was born in St. Petersburg, Russia and grew up in the Tenderloin district of San Francisco. Inspired by anyone who is unapologetically themselves, she aspires to create a positive environment through her melodic, energetic music. Once she’d written the bones of the songs for Infinite Possible Future, she turned as always to her close- knit crew of compatriots to record; guitarist Spencer Owings (Juicebumps), bassist Jason Cirimele (Dust Collector, Indianna Hale) drummer Sam Jones (Mae Powell, Mild Universe), saxophonist Edan Mor, and violinist Sivan Lioncub (Everyone Is Dirty). The record was tracked and co-produced by Chris Daddio at Donut Time Audio in Oakland, CA, and mixed and mastered by Greg Saunier (Deerhoof). Fittingly, Infinite Possible Futures is a record that explores the eternal, internal struggle of being a good friend; both to oneself and to others. “There are infinite possible futures, as well as infinite possible presents” explains Mayya. “It is our choice - how we embrace and what we make of each moment - or don't.” So come, brave psychonaut, and follow our left-coast Alice down her melodic rabbit hole. First rising to global acclaim in the latter half of the dubstep era with 'Ruins Tape', veteran St. Petersburg producer Nocow has fluidly moved across styles in the years since. Moving in a new direction from 2017s 'Ledyanoy Album', which saw the producer channel 90s ambient techno/IDM for GOST ZVUK, these 17 new tracks, and collaborations for the label instead hone in on a vocal-heavy type of ghostly R&B. As an album, Odinocow carries hints of trance, house and polished electronica ('Blizhe') as well as raw broken beat hybrids ('Dengi Ne Sgorayut'), though the primary unifying factor is the voice.

The heavy use of autotune, downtempo arrangements and wistful, machine-distorted human emotion are referenced in the album's title, which translates roughly to lonely Nocow. Whilst past albums have oscillated between steady dance structures and more wildly experimental arrangements, there is a recurring theme of simplicity at play here. Nocow aims to craft memorable songs by harmonising over contrasting ambient soundscapes, from glacial to warm, through to trap/rnb and 4x4 dance-pop.

With such an emphasis on exploring his voice and his songwriting craft, Nocow injects a new level of soul and integrity to his already well-established productions. Odinocow is a departure from his past work in some ways, though is also an example of a musician striving to reflect their truest vision of the self. "By finding yourself, you become able to love yourself, and, as a result, the world. So the album is really about love."

The fantastic German disco/world music project from Bremen which never was meant to be. Formed by Bremen DJ Ralf Behrendt in 1982, Saada Bonaire was a unique concept band centered around two sultry female vocalists (Stefanie Lange and Claudia Hossfeld) and dozens of local musicians culled from the local immigration center. Originally signed to EMI in 1982, their first and only single, "You Could Be More As You Are" was produced by legendary Matumbi, Slits and POP Group producer Dennis Bovell in Kraftwerk's studio in Cologne. Its fusion of husky female vocals, Eastern instruments, dub and African music aesthetics, drum computers and synthesizers remains unique to this day. EMI cancelled the project upon its release. Saada Bonaire compiles two songs from the original EMI single plus eleven previously unreleased songs recorded between 1982 and 1985. Also included are never before published photos and in depth interviews with band members and a full gate fold cover for those dedicated vinyl buyers. Saada Bonaire. A bizarre mix of Kraftwerk, Grace Jones, and Marlene Dietrich. These lost recordings from the early eighties still sound fresh on today's dance floor.

In 1967, Nancy Sinatra would continue her artistic ascent into the pop stratosphere with the James Bond You Only Live Twice theme song, the groovy technicolor television special, Movin’ With Nancy, recording one of the most beloved duets of all time, “Some Velvet Morning,” and a cross-country pilgrimage to the center of the country music scene. Nancy traveled to Nashville to cut her fifth album at RCA Studios, where many of the greatest country songs of all time were recorded. On Country, My Way, Nancy fuses her own personal style with country music, resulting in a new hybrid sound.
