One of seven pieces written for the building itself (and even the space around it), Kitchen is the music that diners first hear as they are greeted by Chef Kahn before dinner service begins for the evening. In composing the music for this interaction, This Will Destroy YOU’s Chris King and Jeremy Galindo sought to convey a warm, hospitable – if not reassuring – tone for listeners that may (or may not) be present elsewhere as they discover and explore the spaces in and around Vespertine’s looming architectural monolith for the remainder of their stay.

Limited to 200 copies, this release is the fifth and final ep of the 5 x 12" from the Thomas Brinkmann Retrospektiv 5xlp box set. The 5 individual 12" will be released through 2018/19. Thomas Brinkmann is one of the great producers of Techno music and modern dance music. He initially gained notoriety in the experimental electronic music and Techno community for his full-length 'variations' of material by Wolfgang Voigt under his Mike Ink moniker, and Richie Hawtin. The variations were made by playback of the original artist records on a turntable of Brinkmann's design, which has two tone arms with separate outputs for left and right channels. The turntables were then pitched down from 33rpm to 27rpm and the results recorded and mixed. Both Voigt and Hawtin were sufficiently impressed they released the results on their own labels. Since then Thomas Brinkmann has produced some all-time classic dance tracks, many of which are collected here in what is a personal selection by Thomas Brinkmann himself. There are unreleased tracks, different versions, and tracks that have never been released on vinyl.

2nd pressing on black vinyl! Ital Tek (a.k.a. Alan Myson) returns to Planet Mu with his sixth album ‘Outland‘. The album was written during a period of new beginnings following a move out of the city to a quieter space and the birth of his first child. During this time of self-imposed isolation Alan recorded a huge amount of source material and spent weeks and months sitting up at night with his newborn, listening back and making notes on how the new record should take form, focusing and developing ideas to shape this lean ten-track album. Alan talks of the record being a collaboration between two parts of himself, something that definitely comes across as the album unfolds. Textures are something Alan excels at and on his last album, the largely beatless ‘Bodied’, it felt as if he was building a new sound-world. On ‘Outland’ he expands upon this. The album brings together the extremes of Alan's sound, contrasting roughened bass and beats with starker more detailed atmospheres and emotions. The most beat-driven song here is ‘Deadhead’, with its gnarled bouncing bass, angular distorted melodies and cavernous textures. On tracks like ‘Bladed Terrain’ the contrasts are even more defined with buzzing drones and razor sharp drums plunging into a grainy fog, giving the track a dramatic 3D feel. Then there are the stop-start pauses of ‘Leaving The Grid’, where the song evaporates into space before reemerging with shuddering rhythms and ghostly textures. Melodies crawl around these tracks as if they’re just waking up, as heard on the atmospheric ‘Angel In Ruin’. The sleep-deprived fraying of the senses became Alan’s routine and one which he says gave him a renewed creative energy; half-asleep, working through the night, and then into the daytime super-focused but exhausted. Prone to audio hallucinations whilst writing the album, he aimed to capture these distortions in his perception of pitch and time, and you can hear these effects interpreted on tracks like ‘Endless’ and ‘Open Heart’ as melodies phase and slip out of time like an emotional Doppler effect. This is also true of the soaring atonal synths at the peak of ‘Diamond Child’, which feel like the aural equivalent of eye floaters. These intuitive feelings and functions are a difficult thing to capture in sound, but Alan manages it beautifully and always makes the result feel warm and adventurous, heartfelt and epic.

Prodigy child Marisol a.k.a. Pepa Flores was born Josefa Flores González in

Málaga, 1948. She was discovered in 1959 and started a successful solo career

that took her to win the Best Child Actress prize of the Mostra de Venezia in

1960s. She did many movies for Spanish directors, also for actor/director Mel

Ferrer in Hollywood and did also T.V. work.

Parallel to her cinema and television career Marisol produced an impressive collection

of records. This double LP set collects some of her most famous hits, spreading

through a variety of styles that go from traditional Spanish flamenco flavoured tunes to

ye-yé beat to more sophisticated pop productions, including songs written by famed

Spanish composers/conductors such as Augusto Algueró and Manuel Alejandro,

Spanish pop stars Juan y Junior and Los Brincos or jazz legend and ubiquitous

arranger / producer Juan Carlos Calderón.

Since her child star days, Marisol evolved both as an artist and as a civil rights

defender through the years until she retired from public life in the 1980s. This collection

is a small representation of her works from her earliest recordings in 1962 through

some of her more mature productions.

We are happy to welcome UK-based producer Native Cruise on Slam City Jams. The guy was on our radar since his releases on No Bad Days and Fruit Merchant that easily combined house music with new-age synths, a wave/EBM touch and balearic sounds. His „Human Nature“ EP is no exception with five outstanding tracks that differ in tempo and vibe. The opener „Crew Talk“ is a percussion heavy tune with lots of cowbells, a funky DX7 bass line, deep pads and dramatic chords that build up and up towards the end. „Elsewhere” is the most housey track on this record, with four-to-the-floor 808s and bittersweet strings that burst out into euphoria. Closing down the A-side is „Fooled Again“, a balearic cut that feels like a day in the sun with it’s little synth blips and arps. On the flip we find the title track „Human Nature“ that might be the hidden jam on this EP. Hard hitting Linn Drums, digital synth bells and those haunting vocals we can’t get out of our heads. Finally we have „Not Long Now“ a perfectly atmospheric deep tune, that sits somewhere between ambient and reggaeton and will make fans of DJ Python more than happy.

Limited edition of 400 copies with folded poster/insert and sticker. What is Randolph & Mortimer? A folk duo, a pair of accountants, a techno act…a law firm? What started off as an ‘art project’, influenced by 80s Industrial, 90s rave music and inspired by the documentaries of Adam Curtis, has morphed into a full on New Beat / Body Music dance-floor moving machine. Their studio releases have gained support from some of the biggest underground DJ’s in the world like Ancient Methods and gone on to top various genre sales charts on Bandcamp. Whilst the R&M live shows have seen them share bills with Godflesh, Youth Code, PIG and 3Teeth. In 2019 it was time for R&M to throw a marker down and so came “Manifesto For A Modern World”, the debut album comprised of tracks from the “$ocial £utures”, “Hope Tragedy Myths” and “Citizens” EP’s plus some additional songs. This album is basically a greatest hits of Randolph & Mortimer. A statement of intent. All killer and no filler. The original limited edition CDs and tapes sold out and it had some incredible reviews. Berto Pisano composed and conducted an OST with a lounge beat and evocative orchestral themes using the wonderfully sexy voice of Edda Dell'Orso, which evoke the sensual / erotic relationship between the adult man and the teen desperate for strong emotions. The main themes are reprised with piano only. The atmosphere of apparent relaxation in the hotel in Ischia is created with pop themes written for Hammond organ and rhythm section. There is also a version with bass flute and a faster version in Bossa tempo. The master tape in stereo of a rare promotional soundtrack album was found in the RCA archives. It was released in 1974 under the label Pegaso and contains almost all the recorded music from the film.

A companion piece to 2018’s Listening To Pictures, this second volume in the pentimento series presents eight new tracks by the music visionary, continuing his lifelong exploration of the possibilities of recombination and musical gene-splicing. Pentimento is defined as the “reappearance in a painting of earlier images, forms, or strokes that have been changed and painted over” and this is evident in the innovative production style that ‘paints with sound’ using overlapping nuances to create an undefinable and intoxicating new palette.

In classic Hassell fashion, the title can be interpreted in a myriad of ways, but perhaps the most pertinent at the moment is the human instinct to sing and play through a rain of difficulties. A future blues of indeterminate and ever-shifting shape. The album is buffered by two 8-minute plus epics at the beginning and the end - the hypnotic “Fearless” with it’s metronomic, almost Can-like rhythm, and blurry, noir-ish texture of sound emerging like car headlights from the fog; mirrored at the end of the record by the beautiful sci-fi lullaby of “Timeless”, a track with a gaseous, billowing quality as electronic clicks and bubbles float over a landscape of shimmering, glacially paced complexity. The bridge between those two worlds is no less compelling, from the frantic, spidery IDM sketch of “Reykjavik” to the collapsed-time ballad of “Unknown Wish”. Whilst containing seeds of classic ‘fourth world’ fusion, this record finds the artist still questing to create new forms and mutations of music, a thrilling window into what music could sound like in a world to come.

Finally available on vinyl, this underground masterwork of analog electronic music pushed the envelope of melodic synth freakouts to unimaginable edges and undreamt of realms of space. Recorded live on the spot without overdubs, Jeff Carney’s 'Imperfect Space Journeys” (ISJ) has become a highly prized collectible amongst “Berlin School” fanatics still soaking in the '70s sounds of Klaus Schulze, Ashra and Tangerine Dream, as well as fans of Terry Riley's organ works (Riley is Carney's cousin), and Heldon heads. Originally a cassette-only release, the rare copy appearing on the collector market can exchange hands at three-figure sums even on cassette, making it one of the most sought after treasures of the electronic underground.

With a keyboard arsenal more likely to have been assembled in the late seventies, West Coast space music architect Jeff Carney rebelled against prevailing digital trends with analog electronic wizardry, unleashing this statement of purpose on the New York “Audiofile” label in 1988. Designed around the possibilities of live performance, Carney used simple, captivating hooks with which to weave tapestries of electronic texture. His influences on this debut are apparent, but his sounds absolutely unique. Every lead seems to have a tone outside the sounds already explored in the genre. Sound effects give a sense of deep space: perhaps owing their galactic awareness to Gong and Hawkwind, but pushing like a volcano into other realms. 'Imperfect Space Journeys' is a study in minimalist rhythmic structures that enable Carney to decorate with cosmic colors and wild effects collages, while also tending to be highly melodic. 'Noise' is used as a means to create images of spaceships passing in the deepest of space skies. Tension and release are used for maximum impact. But there is also plenty of sonic ear candy. Melodic lines that you'll find yourself wanting to revisit again and again!

Source for this reissue: 24bit/96kHz transfers taken from the original analog tapes. This deluxe reissue of ISJ includes three bonus tracks not included on the original cassette release. Comes with an eight-page color LP-sized insert booklet. Limited to 500x copies worldwide.

Carney recorded 'Imperfect Space Journeys' at 20 years old. He would soon produce works in which his skills were further honed and his unique sonic paintings took an even more exploratory shape, but ISJ is the beginning of the story. It is where the “journey” begins.

Blending 8-bit aesthetics with soul-baring queer bedroom indie, New Jersey-based synthpop project The Scary Jokes is the brainchild of singer-songwriter Liz Lehman. Their signature style of gentle, upbeat psychedelia contrasted with pointed, introspective lyrics earned 2016’s April Fools considerable buzz in the internet underground.

On their 2019 followup, Burn Pygmalion!!! A Better Guide to Romance, Lehman weaves a concept album around insecurity and romantic alienation, telling the story of a journalist ruminating on her relationship as she housesits for her movie-star girlfriend. The album expanded the group’s sound, complimenting Lehman’s electronic production with guitarwork by new band member Juniper Abernathy and a guest performance by Louie Zong. Featuring the song “Community Gardens,” Burn Pygmalion cemented The Scary Jokes as one of the most exciting new artists of the 2010s.

Needlejuice Records is proud to bring Burn Pygmalion to physical formats. In addition to CD and cassette, the album will be available on colored vinyl in two configurations: a green\pink half-and-half and a fiery-red galaxy. The album has been remastered for physical media by Angel Marcloid.

2020 - nicht alles nur Scheiße. Während der deutsche Mainstream-Rap versucht den original Triple-Six-Sound zu imitieren, pushen Donvtello, AlphaMob und MOSA ihn mit ihrer Kollabo-EP „Geeked“ auf ein ganz anderes Level. Die Spielart des Trap, die vor ein paar Jahren von der deutschsprachigen Szene höchstens müde belächelt wurde, ist mittlerweile auch in Europa vogue as fuck.

Nachdem sie den Banger „Wie Talkst Du?!“ für Opti Mane maßgeschneidert haben, beschließen AlphaMob und MOSA - Producerkollegen und Freunde seit den early days of German Rap - dass es an der Zeit ist für ein größeres Projekt. Mit Donvtello holen sie sich niemand geringeren als den Lieblingsrapper deiner Lieblingsrapper ans Mic. Mit seiner einzigartigen Stimme, dem Flex, für den andere töten würden, und den Double Times par excellence, komplettiert er die neue heilige Dreifaltigkeit der Straße.

Viele schlaflose Nächte später erblickt die fünf Tracks umfassende EP „Geeked“ das Licht der Welt. Über AlphaMobs Label Alpheus Recs. präsentiert das Trio ihre Interpretation des Südstaaten Sounds, der jeden der Protagonisten auf seine ganz eigene Weise geprägt hat. Von soulful Memphis, über Chicago Drill, bis hin zu Choppa Trap reicht die Bandbreite der Beats, die in frickeliger Kleinstarbeit zwischen Hamburg und Berlin entstehen.

Wann immer es die prall gefüllten Terminkalender hergeben, werden Studiotermine organisiert und Session für Session entwickelt sich der „geeked-up“ Sound. Ob Slow Jam oder Turn Up, Donvtello bewegt sich dabei stilsicher zwischen C-Mob und Twista und haut zwischendurch sogar RnB-lastige Parts raus.

Dabei thematisiert er ungeschönt sein eigenes Leben als everyday Hustler zwischen Hartz4 und der großen Bühne.

Eine Liebeserklärung der besonderen Art macht Donvtello seinen Jungs in der ersten Singleauskopplung „Dopeboys“. Der partytaugliche Track vereint die schleppende Eleganz des Memphis- Sounds und das treibende Vocal-Stakkato ala Bone Thugs-N-Harmony in Perfektion. Und während der Master of Ceremony erklärt, warum er keine Zeit hat,
sondern 24/7 high ist und mit den Dopeboys abhängt, überkommt einen das unbändige Verlangen, den Lautstärkeregler aufzureißen und die Autofenster runter zu kurbeln - so sehr nach lauer Sommernacht gepaart mit einer astreinen take-no-Bullshit-Attitüde schmeckt der Sound.

Ebenso lecker, bzw. „Juicy“ ist die zweite Single. Eine Hommage an die Traumfrau, der Donvtello „hintererläuft wie Goofy, denn ihr body ist so juicy - er ist eine Gefahr“. Die selbstbestimmte Queen von der Straße, die einen Fick auf Oberflächlichkeiten gibt und ihr eigenes Ding durchzieht, ist für Donvtello ebenso faszinierend wie beängstigend, denn: „spirituell sind wir auf einer Ebene, ich glaube, sie bricht mir das Herz“. Eine waschechte Liebesgeschichte aus der Hood inkl. Twerk-Sessions im Club, abwesenden Vätern und der richtigen Frau mit dem richtigen Musikgeschmack.

Komplettiert wird die „Geeked“ EP von den drei weiteren dynamischen Tracks „Weißes Laken“, „Ja ich dip“ und „Wieder wach“ mit den Gastfeatures von Tamas und Fruchtmax. Und weil so ein doper Inhalt auch eine dopes Gewand verdient hat, wurde niemand geringeres als die Low Bros ans Cover Design gelassen. Die Überflieger der Contemporary

Following their return in 2020 with new album "Refractions," we proudly reissue their seminal chronicle of rumbling desert-heaviness!In their own words:Ode To Io (1-10) was recorded and produced by ourselves at KM Studios, Karlskoga, Sweden in Novembre of 1999.Tracks 11 & 13-16 were previously released as the Nebula and Sparzanza -Lowrider split singles. We recorded and produced them as well, also at KM Studios, Karlskoga, Sewden in May of 1998 (tracks 13-16) and August of the same year (track 11).Track 12 previously released as the "I Am Vengeance" Soundtrack in 2001. Brigitte Barbu’s Muzak pour ascenseurs en panne (Muzak for broken lifts) marked a bold new addition to the Circus Company repertoire. In a gilded haze of resonant tones conjured by traditional and non-traditional methods, Brigitte Barbu created an inviting sound world brimming with life and doffing its cap to 1970s signal processing. Out of such sonic research and development comes a wealth of material for other artists to sink their teeth into, and so we proudly present an accompanying remix EP that takes Brigitte Barbu’s distinctive stamp into new territory. Roman Flügel makes a first appearance Circus Company with two versions of “Dae-Boj DeMoya” that showcase this constantly versatile lynchpin of European techno. First up is his “kraut remix", which unsurprisingly channels the grainy beauty of Neu! and early Kraftwerk, before his “synth remix” dials back the drums and diverts our attention towards an expansive arrangement of melodious flourishes from classic synthesisers. John Tejada and Reggie Watts reunite as Wajatta following their triumphant LP Don’t Let Get You Down on Brainfeeder to deliver a particularly inventive, soul-stirring vocal techno version of “Couvre chef en peau de taupe". Watts soars over the signature warmth of Tejada’s production, while Brigitte Barbu’s mysterious tones linger in every fold of the mix. Matthew Herbert offers up a “Butter Dub” version of the album interlude serie “Trou Vert” that pits his signature stark sampling methods against Brigitte Barbu’s material and creates a fruitful dialogue of crooked 4/4 mechanics with all the playful curiosity of the original and a strong dose of Herbert’s inimitable musical personality.

In the process of relocating to Den Bosch's Willem Twee Studios, The Transcendence Orchestra let love slip deftly out of its gate and reverberate around the walls of the studio's main hall, a high ceilinged former synagogue in the city's old town. Working intensively to capture its echoes, they coaxed it to appear in pipes and strings, directed it through resonant circuits and shepherded it round the room with beaters, horns and rattles.

Having returned home with the recordings, a purpose began to emerge. Through a process of extensive reconfiguration and testing it became clear that the love contained within could transform perception. Under the right circumstances, and accompanied by appropriate technology, it could serve as a map for navigating beginnings and endings. Like some distant mesmerising chant or a psychedelic folk song, it could connect us and reassure us that we can pass through the boundaries and survive. Perhaps not intact but at least whole.

Here is that map, love soaked diligently into its lines, ready to guide those at a loss or reassure those willing to explore.
