Following the first episode, Drivecom presents the second part of the Generative Operations series. It continues with the dark, technical and minimal concept of music mixed toguether with contemporary, cinematic elements and experimental sounds and textures. The vision and workflow keeps up the same vibe as with the first ep and you will find more synth lines involved into a generative structure from complex and massive modular patches. The sequencing is always different each time every track is being played back giving us a unique listening. About the sound design all the tracks have a cinematic vibe as in the first 12”. Always looking for a situation where cinema meets electronic music as being planned as a film sound track. Also constructed from the point of view of a minimalistic vision, you’ll find long progressions and small details focused in electro rhythms as a basic and main structure. In the other hand all the tracks have a common target: a cinematic vibe. As if they were composed thinking about to fit in any sci-fi thriller movie. Again we can hear massive granular sythesis pads, background noises, experimental compression routines that help to fullfill the Generative Operation series. The limited edition vinyl has been pressed in 180gr. keeping up the analog character sound in this format, meanwhile the digital version will be a clearer and clinical one.

Number 80 in our Brazil.45 series, aptly sees a double-sider focusing on the awesome 80's recordings by one of the giants of Brazilian music, Jorge Ben. First up is the addictive, building groove of 'Curumin Chama Cunhãtã Que Eu Vou Contar (Todo Dia Era Dia De Índio)’. Taken from the 'Dádiva' album from 1981, and originally released on Som Livre Records. A homage to the indigenous people and tribes of Brazil. The flip features one of Jorge's most beloved Brazilian-Boogie joints, 'Rio Babilônia’, which celebrates life in Rio, partying, the beach, and the city’s iconic monuments. The song was originally released on a compacto and taken from the 'Dádiva' album from 1983, it features arrangements by the late-great, Lincoln Olivetti.

A remarkable one-off tribute to the drummer behind the most sampled break of all time, Clyde Stubblefield, this 7” goes straight for the glitchy jugular, cutting up Stubblefield’s breaks from his time with James Brown into a blizzard of rhythmically complex, tightly programmed IDM, underpinned by deep, dark sub-bass. Stubblefield passed away in 2017, but his legacy lives on through numerous tracks that sampled his work across genres like hip hop, jungle, and, well, more or less every other genre. Most were uncredited and he wasn’t paid for his contributions.

Purgate is the solo work of Frederic Arbour, one half of Industrial Techno duo Stärker and also works under the name Visions, creating Deep Ambient Atmospherics. As Purgate, Arbour explores purely analog circuitry through dense layers of treated modular systems and sparse, pulsing rhythmic structures. Monolithic, abrasive and atmospheric, he exerts the elemental properties of sound and the textural possibilities of signal processing as an exploration of the inherent forces, and physicality, of sound. His live A/V performance has been created with long time friend and experimental film maker Karl Lemieux (Live film projectionist for God Speed You Black Emperor), keeping a focus on all analog mediums with live projections of abstract layers of decomposed 16mm film experiments. Arbour is also the founder of the Cyclic Law and Aesthetical labels.

After a two-year hiatus Georg (co-founder of Light of Other Days) is back with a new EP and a new moniker. As usual the five tracks on the EP «A Million Pieces» are hard to pinpoint and are highly personal pieces of work. On «A Million Pieces» Slow Glass takes us on a journey from dark ambient spaces to carefree dancefloors. «A Million Pieces» starts out in a state of tension but over the course of the EP, Slow Glass takes the listener to a place of relief. The productions are mainly based on heavily manipulated fieldrecordings and everyday sounds. Slow Glass creates dense soundscapes which build the frame for light-hearted harmonies as well as playful percussion and gloomy synth lines. The EP closes out with «Relieved», a rhythmic dance track with hopping synths and airy guitar that could almost make for a summer song. «A Million Pieces» is an adventurous EP for curious listeners. On the journey Pneuma 2 and 3 started breathing as well and eventually I created and finished all three versions at the same time. These are some dark, agressive pieces but if you listen carefully you hear hope and optimism between the beats.

For the third installment of Henk, the two DJ’s and producers from Cologne, Germany showcase once again a wide variety of styles in their production. With the A1 being a collaboration of the two, the 3 other tracks are solo works by Stikdorn. “Reset” quickly makes it’s way into any raver’s heart. Fast-paced drums and percussions meet mellow pads and 90’s vibe arpeggio’s, making this a sure shot on any dancefloor in summer. It’s clear that the A-Side on this one is reserved for the bangers once you dive into “Come Closer”. A haunting 303 acid line garnered by steadily pounding drums and vocal snippets reminding you of the early hardcore days making this a must-have for any DJ-Set. On the B-Side things slow down significantly. But only in tempo, not in deepness for sure. “Anemia” is one of these tracks that evolve while floating through space and time, taking you to the trippier and more thoughtful places, either on the dancefloor or wherever you are. “Low Lights” highlights Stikdorn’s affinity for breakbeats once again. Perfectly suitable to take your DJ-Set into another direction or for the early/late hours in the club.

A-side kicking off with “Coconuts falling from a Clear Sky”, introducing heavy kicks and bumping basslines, which sets the mood for the dancefloor with its mysterious and playful vibe. “Introvert Acid” offers introspective up-beat techno with bleepy and modulating melody lines. Moving over to the B-side, which attempts the house vibe. “Partly Sun”, accompanied by organ sounds and rhythms, are clearly UK-flavored with hints of garage house. We are always looking for personal and genuine works, and our sixth release was not going to be less. We are very happy to present "Entropy Ep", a three incredible original cuts by producer Yotam Aflalo and a remix of one of the finest of Liverpool, Reedale Rise. Yotam invites us to a trip through breaks and electro, where his taste for rhythm stands out. Subtle acid lines mixed with mysterious pads, along with masterfully programmed percussions are the signature of the EP. In B2 we find our first remix on the label, and certainly no one better than the wizard Reedale Rise. RR redesigns "Four", building on some original elements, and turning the cut into a delightful dream lucid through the classic 808 sound, bouncing bass and crystal clear keys. A solid Ep that fits in any bag of a good musiclover, for club use or home mental-pleasure. We are also excited to announce a collaboration with talented photographer Dan Cohen. His photos will accompany our music during our next releases, and we can't be happier for it.
