A.P.C. HHV Clothing

A.P.C. – short for Atelier de Production et de Création – is a French clothing brand that is appreciated worldwide for its creativity, authenticity and sustainability. Since it was founded in 1987 by Jean Touitou in Paris, the brand has become synonymous with timeless elegance and minimalist design. Together with his wife Judith Touitou, who is the brand’s art director, Jean Touitou runs A.P.C. with a clear vision: to create fashion that focuses on the essentials without masking the personality of the wearer.

A.P.C. stands for a philosophy that values production and creation in equal measure. Without careful production, every creative idea remains just a thought. Without creative vision, a garment would have no soul. This balance between craftsmanship and design is at the heart of A.P.C. and is reflected in every single design that A.P.C. presents.

A.P.C.’s style is deliberately understated. For Jean Touitou, the absence of extravagance characterizes the A.P.C. wardrobe. The clothes are simple, smart, easy to wear and versatile. High-quality materials and timeless cuts take center stage, making the collections durable everyday companions.

Since its foundation, A.P.C. has been constantly searching for the best balance between creativity, simplicity and sustainability. The conviction that fashion must be environmentally conscious and socially responsible runs through the entire production chain. A.P.C. prefers high-quality natural materials and designs long-lasting clothing and accessories. Waste is avoided and A.P.C. has consistently never destroyed its back stock.

Special attention is paid to the use of natural fibers and raw denim. These materials are not only durable, but also more environmentally friendly as they require less harmful treatments. Raw jeans, a flagship item of the A.P.C. wardrobe, are known for their durability. The denim fabric is not artificially treated or washed after weaving – processes that use a lot of water and chemicals and are harmful to the environment and workers’ health. A.P.C. also offers jeans that are washed with reduced impact and treated with special attention.

A.P.C. cooperates with companies that have taken early action to improve their environmental and social impact. Among other things, these partners have introduced the reuse of water in closed cycles and the air-drying of jeans, installed solar water heaters and joined the Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals program. They also support orphanages and employ people with disabilities. These efforts have been recognized with the B Corp seal, which stands for the highest standards in social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability.

In 2023, A.P.C. received the GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certification issued by Ecocert GreenLife (license no. 214416). This demanding seal guarantees that the certified garments are made predominantly from organic fibers in compliance with strict environmental and social standards throughout the entire production chain. GOTS is an international certification for organic textiles based on environmental and social standards. Every stage of processing – from spinning to weaving, washing, dyeing and finishing – must comply with the specifications for a textile to receive the GOTS certificate.

A.P.C. has set itself the goal of reducing its Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions (mainly gas and electricity emissions in the offices) by 42% in absolute terms by 2030. This target is based on the Paris Agreement, which aims to limit global warming to 1.5 °C. A.P.C. is also committed to reducing its Scope 3 emissions (indirect emissions) by 51.6% by 2030. To this end, the brand has entered into a partnership with Carbonfact, a fashion start-up that has developed a greenhouse gas emissions forecasting tool. This will help to better understand emissions throughout the production chain and make the right decisions to achieve the targets set.

A.P.C. offers a complete collection of clothing and accessories that are characterized by a concise style. These pieces are designed to enhance rather than overshadow the wearer’s personality. From perfectly cut jeans to simple shirts and elegant coats, every single piece is well thought out and reflects the philosophy of the A.P.C. brand.

The denim products from A.P.C. are particularly popular. Made from high-quality Japanese denim, they develop an individual patina over time, making each piece unique. But it’s not just the jeans that set A.P.C. apart. The brand offers a wide range of clothing and accessories for men and women. The designs are timeless and versatile. A simple, well-cut T-shirt, a classic trench coat or an elegant sweater – each piece is a basic building block for a stylish wardrobe.

A.P.C. has built up a loyal following over the years. The brand appeals to a clientele that sees fashion as an expression of personality and style, without succumbing to fast-moving trends. A.P.C. fans appreciate the timeless aesthetics and high quality of the clothing, which is constantly reinterpreted but never fundamentally changed.

A.P.C. stands for timeless elegance, high-quality materials and a philosophy of simplicity and longevity. Over the years, the brand has established a firm place for itself in the fashion world and appeals to a clientele that values quality and style. With a clear focus on minimalist design and sustainable production, A.P.C. remains a brand characterized by consistency and authenticity. Whether jeans, T-shirts or coats – every piece from A.P.C. is an investment in timeless style and first-class, sustainable craftsmanship.
