The new release of Rap Kayou song series presentedby P-Vine! Kayou (KayouKyoku) franklymeans pop songs in Japanese, and are songs mainly from 70's~90's Japan. P-vine has been releasing a lot of works from "Phantom Masterpiece Liberation Union", "Disco Kayou", "Techno Kayou" which were released as a series reflecting the times, and a number of these raps quickly worked their way into general society. With its origins lying in historical mixes that explored combinations of Hip Hop / rap and Kayokyoku, "Rap Kayou" emerged in 2010. This 7 inch will present the track that kickstarted the revolutionary music genre! A-side "HAGE=RAP-Bald Revolution ★ Beginning signal" by Yurioka ChoutoQ's own gag rap that's not only wrapped up in Japanese comedy, there's high quality trackmaking at its base once your stylus meets the groove. The B-side includes a full-scale track and exquisite coupling "Gyutan Rap", a tribute to the local activity of Sendai, the largest cityin north eastern Japan where the lyrics expressed in flow are also wonderful!

During the transition period from City POP to J-pop, the masterpieces buried in the gaps have finally been made into analog records! In addition to the gorgeous music providers such as Kochinka and Tetsuji Hayashi, the participating musicians include Gt Masaki Matsubara/Yuji Toriyama, Bass Chiharu Mikuzuki/Hideki Matsubara, and Dr Nobuo Eguchi/Takashi Numazawa. The album named "Rennai" (meaning "romance") features unique guest musicians from across the borders of musical styles. For example, Mario Caldato Jr. is known as a producer for the Beastie Boys and Jack Johnson, and Lovely Summer-chan has a strong following among listeners who prefer mainly Japanese indie rock. The participation of these artists with these very different musical styles strengthens the uniqueness of the work.

‘ooh DO U Fink U R’ is a gloriously sunny, optimistic and defiant Motown and ‘60’s R&B influenced stomper drawing on Suggs and Weller’s upbringing in Britain’s 1970’s comprehensive school system in London and Woking respectively. This picture disc is a Record Store Day 2023 exclusive, following from the sold out limited 7” release from June ’22. Having known each other on-and-off over the last four decades, the seeds of this collaboration emerged in 2019 when Weller joined Suggs on his Radio Four series ‘Love Letters To London’ to talk about an ever changing Soho. As the world subsequently went into lockdown in 2020, the pair started chatting more and more frequently about music, clothes and football, eventually exchanging half finished songs, demos and sketches of lyrics. With its working class aesthetic, Motown influenced stomp, and uplifting brass, it’s an intuitive collaboration that sits neatly as a welcome addition to both men’s great songbooks.

Too Late To Start Again follows Steve MARINO’s 2019 debut, Fluff, and finds the songwriter more confident than ever before. The album tracks MARINO’s move from Bloomington, IN to Los Angeles and captures the strange combination of excitement and melancholy that can come with a fresh start. Recorded with Ben Lumsdaine and featuring guitar work from Matt Berry (the Berries, BIG Bite) and Kora Puckett (bugg, Narrow Head), Too Late To Start Again conjures up MARINO’s take on a particularly timeless strain of pop rock, providing the kind of instantly lovable earworms that will stick with you long after the record’s brisk, half-hour runtime is over.

Though Emily Moales first envisioned "Camelot" as a way to escape her reality, the record equally provided a way to address it head on. As a prime example, album highlight “Not My Heart” takes a tale of unrequited love on a Casiotone waltz before bursting into a classic AM pop jangle, the imagery of Camelot swirling through the mix like a fluttering banner. Moales’ bronzed vocals sit front and center on the track and album at large, surrounded by a robust instrumental tapestry--though much like the album cover’s blend of Medieval font and shag carpeting, every bit of regal clarity is matched with warmly retro tones. While she’s spent the last few years recording and releasing handfuls of Star Moles albums digitally, "Camelot" felt like a big step for Moales, a realization of the project’s potential, making it especially fitting to be her first physical release.
