In celebration of the40th anniversary of Under A Blood Red Sky(1983), the2023 Record Store Day Black Fridaysees the newly remastered release of the band's iconic live album onlimited edition red vinyl. Consisting of live recordings from three shows on the band'sWar Tour in 1983, the album helped to cement U2's reputation globally as one of the greatest live acts of all time. Featuring legendary live versions of 'Gloria', 'I Will Follow', and 'Sunday Bloody Sunday', the album remains faithful to the original track list, but is newly remastered at the renowned studioBernie Grundman Mastering.

The masterpiece of city pop was tracked down by renowned engineer Tamotsu Yoshida using the latest digital technology from the multi-tapes of the time. The 2023 mix, mastered with vintage analog equipment, will be released in analog format for the first time. Including karaoke of 2023 mix. Analog cutting: Piccolo Audio Works, Shinya Matsushita [45 rpm, 180g weight vinyl specs].

BTS is now one of the biggest artists in the world. "for You" was released in 2015 as their first original Japanese single, and for the first time it reached No. 1 on the Japanese Oricon singles chart. The A-side of the single will feature the song, while the B-side will include the Japanese version of "Let Me Know," which was also included on the CD release. The 12-inch vinyl will be available in pure color and transparent vinyl. This is the first analog release in 12-inch/45 RPM format from the latest digital remastered sound source.

Title track ALT! has a massive doff of the cap to the driving forces of Krautrock, where Lewis' vocal soars atop stacks of guitars & synths and a solid drumbeat keeps you on track.

'Nowhere To Nowhere' breaks out of the gate with a full spin of the private psychedelic reel, a track that seemingly has no beginning, middle or end but which draws you in from the get-go with stacked guitars & synth lines, a thumping one note bass line, snappy percussion, and a totally far out vocal breakdown.

'Hapi' is a stunning stripped-back big bag of blissfullness with soaring synths & arp lines buddy up with a heart tugging 4 note key lines & guitar plucks alongside a reverb drenched vocal sound from heaven.
Coming across like the soundtrack as you reach the pearly gates whilst also harking back to the true balearic sound of the 70's. There are not enough sunsets in the world would do this justice.

A fave from his live performances, the Manchester anthem is ripped right up to deliver a swoosh filled assault on the senses where pads, synths, guitars & even more synths all stacked and set firmly to 'wow man!' and kept tightly on track by the sublime drumming of Donald Johnson from A Certain Ratio.

Unreleased themes from Kornelije Kovac for commissioned documentary short 'Raport iz Sarajeva', directed by Miodrag Zdravkovic in 1982. This music themes precede the official songs, idents and audio logos for the XIV Winter Olympic Games Sarajevo 1984 opening ceremony made by Kornelije Kovac in his Belgrade based studio from 1982 to 1984.

mmy-nominated Marie Davidson’s first release for Soulwax’s Deewee imprint, ‘Y.A.A.M.’, is produced by longtime collaborator Pierre Guerineau and is a cathartic response to power dynamics within the music industry. The rawness of the original is complemented by a new version by Soulwax, who previously reworked Davidson’s acclaimed ‘Work it’ anthem.

“I’ve read somewhere that to be an artist, you have to be willing to sometimes go where it is the most uncomfortable. About a year ago, after receiving a very condescending email related to the business side of music making, I took the opportunity to write down how I felt about the words and the overall tone of arrogance of what I had just been sent.

Lust Pattern slithers its way to Dark Entries with four tracks of deviant electro-wave on Stand, Scatter. Ryan Armbridge has graced Dark Entries several times via his project Linea Aspera, a revered coldwave revivalist duo with Zoe Zanias. As Lust Pattern, Armbridge draws hypnotic paths through the reverb-laden halls of post-punk and electro-funk, coursing in a gait uniquely his own. Built up from improvised jams, the four cuts on Stand, Scatter defy neat categorization while spanning a wide breadth of genres. Opener “Forming Lines” features Drexciyan squelch, silky guitar, and bursts of live drumming; this sounds like a lot, but it coheres into a perfectly simmering stew of funk. “Choreography” preserves the aquatic vibes but bumps the tempo up into space disco territory, complete with laser bleeps and Moroder-esque pads. It’s a mark of Armbridge’s craft that closing track “No Floor” - a searing motorik synth punk jam that recalls Suicide at their finest - sounds not at all out of place, but rather serves as a logical conclusion to this illogical picture. Stand, Scatter drifts across genres but never loses its focus on the unorthodox groove.

Based out of Nola, Delores Galore is creating sounds inspired by '70s disco '80s synth-pop '90s house classics and beyond. Galore's album Don't Get It Twisted reflects their battle with everyday obstacles and how they push forward with resilience. Two cassette EPs released on one 12”. Timing is just right for the fourth and final single off of the upcoming Keinemusik album. "Send Return" will be the second full length, &ME, Adam Port and Rampa laid down together in liaison with an illustrious cast of feature guests. On "Saving My Love" they teamed up with one of Sweden's finest - Little Dragon. That breezy beat in conjunction with an overly catchy synth lead and Yukumi Nagano's harmonic vocals make a R'n'B-tinged Pop-jewel of the everlasting kind.

For the second announcement of the upcoming sophomore Keinemusik album, Rampa, &ME and Adam Port teamed up with another threesome. That's none other than Netherlands finest when it comes to emotively driven dance music - Cubicolor. And it shows it is a match made in hymn-heaven. "Before The Flood" delicately embodies that feeling its title automatically insinuates. That calm, yet tensed up state, intensifying with every bar of that bassline driven, string kissed sonic foundation, shaping up the appropriate environment for Tim Digby's signature falsetto. It is a contemporary Pop jewel in its own right and in context of the body of work it's taken from, a hint towards one or another unexpected stylistic nuance.

Since the February release of Suddenly - Dan Snaith aka Caribou's critically acclaimed seventh album - tracks from the album have been remixed by Four Tet, Morgan Geist and Floating Points. Snaith follows up with a new EP of remixes by four exciting new artists - Shanti Celeste, Kareem Ali, Logic1000 and India Jordan - each with their own unique takes on standout tracks from the record.

Trixie Whitley presents 'Lacuna re-imagined'. She reworked six tracks from her 'Lacuna' album from 2019. Trixie recorded new versions and invited three talented musicians to her home studio in Brooklyn to provide strings and horn arrangements. Multi-instrumentalist Stuart Bogie (who previously collaborated with Arcade Fire, David Byrne and Run The Jewels) took care of the wind section, Emily Wells and Topu Lyo recorded the strings. The EP "Lacuna re-imagined" will be released on all digital platforms and limited edition vinyl November 13. All profits made from these recordings will go directly to The Callen-Lorde (clinic's health care and activism work), as Trixie explains in the letter below.

Originally chosen as the first single to be taken from Bryan Ferry’s 1987 album ‘Bête Noire’, the groove laden ‘The Right Stuff’ evolved from a collaboration with guitarist, Johnny Marr. Based on Marr’s ‘Money Changes Everything’, written for The Smiths, the track evolved into a slice of sophisticated dancefloor action and, for the clubs, spawned 12”, dub and ‘Brooklyn’ mixes of the track. ‘The Right Stuff’ E.P. brings together the Bête Noire original, plus its ’87 mixes, and a previously unreleased new mix by Johnson Somerset, whose previous credits include remixes for The Temper Trap, alt-J, Duran Duran, Blondie, Katy Perry and Bryan Ferry himself in the shape of his startling reworkings of ‘Song To The Siren’ and ‘Avonmore’. Whilst staying true to the original’s spirit of uptown cool, the slow-burning Johnson Somerset Remix unravels and extends ‘The Right Stuff’ into a smouldering, atmospheric triumph. Blue vinyl.

Pem today releases her new EP, cloud work, out today on Fascination Street Records. The EP is produced by the acclaimed Ali Chant (Sorry, Katy J Pearson, Portishead) and to celebrate its release, Pem will headline The Lexington in London next week, 14th June. Pem has been garnering recognition for her silencing live performances, receiving long listings for 2023's Glastonbury Emerging Talent and Green Man Rising competitions and securing support slots with The Last Dinner Party, The New Eves and Mary in the Junkyard. cloud work is a collection of five songs that Pem wrote during an intensely challenging chapter in her life. Full of references to water, sky, flight, memory, and birds, these are the metaphors and symbols that helped her work through the grief of losing her father last year. She says, “the process of creating ‘cloud work’ enabled me to find beauty, meaning and comfort in a very difficult time."

Pem is the outpouring of Bristol-based, multi-disciplinary artist and songwriter Emily Perry. Her songs blend unfiltered storytelling with swooping melodies, transporting listeners into a world of vulnerable introspection. This powerful intimacy was first unveiled with her 2022 debut EP, songs about hands, which was written during her intensive psychotherapy training and explores themes of memory, connection and disassociation.

Green Monster, the 4th Kito Jempere studio album is a journey through love, interconnectedness and creative freedom, bound together by musical friendship that breaks through walls, borders, languages and shapes; accumulated over a celebrated twenty year career and ten years of Kito Jempere.

Over fourteen tracks Kito teams up with over 26 artists from all over the world: a range of talented artists including Warp records artist Jimi Tenor, Red Snapper drummer Rich Thair, Azari & III ex-vocalist Starving Yet Full, L.I.E.S. records Lipelis (on bass), Curly Castro and Sindysman. The accompanying artwork is a world created by Kito made using Midjourney prompt, connecting the albums audio world with visible objects — both vinyl and CD will contain booklets with lyrics and the visual world of Green Monster.

Kito describes the album ‘like getting Ennio Morricone, Weezer, The Beatles, Oneothrix Point Never, Eduard Artemiev, Jaga Jazzist, Massive Attack, Fugazi, Jimi Tenor, Hans Zimmer, Radiohead, John Cage and Aphex Twin all together, then collaborating with movie-directors Wes Anderson, David Lynch, Dziga Vertov and Andrei Tarkovskiy.’ Used as a metaphor to help create his album.

The very young Paris based Rémi Lauvergne signed some of the best post-punk and dreamy synthwave tracks digitally released in 2022. Oráculo Records put them all together and asked his usual partner in crime Skelesys to remix “Idole”, one of the very best tracks included on this mini- album. You could expect all genre classical approaches as repetitive drums, cold melodies and mesmerizing cavernous vocals. The whole thing is a gem for any modern darkwave collector.

Here is a hidden gem from the 1990s, a sparkling cyber-ambient-Mandarin pop collection produced by Henry Kawahara, the master of cyber-occult music, with silky vocals from Shanghai-born vocalist Xiao Yun Wu. Originally released on CD in 1994 on Kawahara’s own HMD label, the Xiao Yun project was launched by Kawahara and his trusted colleague Keisuke Oki, who plays keyboards on the album. Kawahara handled the production, along with guitar, keyboards and programming. And of course, the crowning glory is the voice of Xiao Yun: lovely, floating, ethereal. The singer arranged the songs, which range from versions of previously released Kawahara solo pieces to Mandarin pop classics. All songs are given Kawahara’s cyber-occult sheen, which may evoke visions of the cosmopolitan Asia of near-future science fiction. Available on vinyl and digital download, this album will transport you, via 1994, to a sparkling future. “Pop Muzik” was originally released in 1979 to worldwide critical acclaim and international chart success – topping the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, the Canada Top Singles chart, and reaching the top 10 in many European countries. Musicians who play on the track include Wally Badarou, John Lewis, and Brigitte Vinchon. The inspiration for the track was the increasing popularity of pop music. This exclusive Record Store Day 12” red vinyl includes the unreleased tracks “Baby Close the Window” and “Pop Muzik (Latin version)”. The Latin version of ”Pop Muzik” combines M’s vocals from the original 1979 version of “Pop Muzik” with a newly recorded instrumental by Latin American music group Rumba Calzada. “Baby Close the Window” was originally recorded in 1981 and features vocals from Brigitte Vinchon. Also featured is the original UK cut of “M Factor”. “M Factor” is the B-side to the original 1979 release of “Pop Muzik”. M is the stage name for musician Robin Scott. M has worked with many acclaimed musicians including Wally Badarou, Mark King, Phil Gould and Gary Barnacle of Level 42.
