Percussionist Pecker came to Jamaica in 1980 to reissue the Japanese DUB original work he created with The Wailers and Sly & Robbie!

Pecker Power, Japan's first dub album, was produced in 1980 by Pecker, a percussionist who created Japan's first salsa band, Orquesta del Sol. This stateless dub sound was born from sessions with The Wailers at Bob Marley's studio ``tuff Gong'' and sessions with Sly and Robbie at ``channel One'' and was titled ``21st Century Dub.'' A strange masterpiece that was distributed in the United States in 1987 and has since become known all over the world.

■Japanese dub originator Dub, which originated in Jamaica, was adopted by British rock bands such as The Clash and the Rolling Stones in 1980. Pecker produced this dub work around the same time. By the way, Mute Beat, known as Japan's first dub band, started their activities in 1982. This shows how advanced this work is.

■Authentic dub session This work is based on a session with The Wailers at the ``tuff Gong'' studio and a session with Sly & Robbie at the ``channel One'' studio. The former includes the rhythm section of the Barrett brothers from Aston and Carlton, Marcia Griffiths from I-3, Judy Mowat, and other fierce performers who supported Bob Marley's golden age. The latter was gaining momentum and popularity at the time, featuring an ironclad rhythm section of Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare, who were still in their 20s, and Augustus Pablo on piano. Additionally, Rico Rodriguez, the trombonist from The Specials, flew in from Berlin for both sessions. The two teams, who viewed each other as rivals at the time, competed with their high-potential performances, resulting in a miraculous recording that brought out their best performance.

■Started as a sequel to Katsumi Watanabe's album "kylyn" Initially, the plan was to record in New York as the second part of the ``kylyn'' session, but the core members, Kazumi Watanabe and Ryuichi Sakamoto, became busy, so the plan was changed to Jamaica recording as Pecker's solo work. In addition to Pecker, Minako Yoshida and Naoya Matsuoka will be traveling to Jamaica. The legendary session mentioned above was held. After returning to Japan, Kenji Omura's guitar was overdubbed at Columbia Studios.

■World-recognized DUB from Tokyo The album ``Pecker Power'' (released on July 25, 1980) and the 10-inch album ``Instant Rasta'' (released on September 25, 1980) that were completed in this way received high praise in some quarters, but their content was timeless. Perhaps because we were too proactive, it did not lead to sales. However, in 1987, a cassette was released under the title ``21st Century Dub'' by the New York label ``roir'', and the unique, stateless DUB received high praise. It was later released on CD in 1999 and became known to DUB enthusiasts around the world.

My bandmates Margo and Xandy both had infamous Asheville house show venues, Jake was in like a billion different bands which often played in their muggy basements and Alan was usually the one who brought the PA. Our immersion in music predated us trying to make songs together ourselves. Our common interests in noisey ‘90s guitars, good lyrics, and country music was quickly what permeated into our voice as a band. Most decisions in our songs are made by an amalgamation of all five of our inputs, which happens pretty naturally because of this thread of influences that ties us together. Formed in the Fall of 1991 by Brandon Capps (guitar & vocals), Kimber Lanning (drums), and Tim Patterson (bass), HALF STRING created a lush, guitar-driven brand of noise pop. Their sound was an antidote to the "desert jangle" bar band scene that dominated Tempe, Arizona at the time. While the group shared an aesthetic with much of the British shoegaze scene, and occasionally recalled the spirit of early 4AD and Factory Records, they certainly carved out a beautiful noise of their own. During their austere six-year life, half string inspired an underground music scene in their hometown, and gained a small but loyal following from beyond the desert. HALF STRING's first demo was hand delivered to Independent Project Records' Bruce Licher during the summer of 1992. Impressed, Licher released the three songs as the Eclipse 7" single on his revered post-punk fine art imprint. Matt Kruse joined on second guitar in 1993, adding another layer of texture andintricate melody to the band's broadening sound. This was evident on "Oval", HALF STRING's second single, and the subsequent "Tripped Up Breathing" EP, both released by IPR in 1994. Patterson left the band that winter, and was replaced by Dave Rogers, a multi-instrumentalist who added backing vocals. In 1995, Germany's Pop Goes On...

Metropolitan Indian & RVNG Intl. present the historics Infinidelity 12" series. Inspired by a short story of the same name by author Chris Leo, Infinidelity offers ten songs from historics late 2009 album debut, Strategies For Apprehension, transformed by an assembly of artists from the outer ether of the electronic music world. Infinidelity Pt. 3 closes out the 12" series with two monstrous remixes. UK remix maven and recent Strut Records mix maker Leo Zero turns "Skin Orders" into a sprawling, eight minute mix of rapid fire drum patterns akin to "Bombs Over Baghdad" and odyssey-like, Garcia inspired guitar work by Crow of Mountain of One. Canadian producer Andrew Allsgood's take on "Two Tons" stomps away with a heavy kick, conga-laden percussion, and fuzzed out bass line, eventually oscillating into a cosmic cataclysm and refrain. This remix fits in nicely with Allsgood's classic 12" for History Clock and features additional production by Worst Friends. Complete the Infinidelity series with this final chapter. Infinidelity was mastered by Graeme Durham at The Exchange. Each 12" comes in an extremely limited edition of 300 copies, absolutely stunning artwork by Mark McCoy.

"Psychic Welfare" was produced by Pink Skull and Jeff Zeigler (Kurt Vile, War On Drugs) between the band's Philadelphia studio and Brooklyn, NY. Contending with the seismic swells in both the macro and micro worlds around him, Grefe refracted the polluted waves in a fantastical fit to write the 13 songs of "Psychic Welfare". The album is a map of time and space portals in which the listener can navigate from the corroded corners of machinated life to boundless, amorphous space in mere seconds. Across the album's pull-out poster artwork for "Psychic Welfare" is a hand-scrawled poem by the late NYC sage Ira Cohen entitled "Blind Assemblage". In the poem, Cohen describes the decay of society and struggles to find civility within tragedy, a sentiment mirrored in Grefe's lyrical content of Psychic Welfare, if not masked by a new found pop propensity. The lead track on the album, "Hot Bubblegum," a Television-inspired piece of pop perfectly pushes this dichotomy of psychotic playfulness. "Mu" is a sprawling instrumental spread of blissed-out 80s funk, complete with a tin rooftop sax solo by Billy Dufala (Man Man). "Janine Aubergine" fictionalizes Grefe's girlfriend's bluegrass fiddle-playing aunt as a psychedelic maven over a tango groover, while "Bee Nose (Put Yr Face On)" is a woozy, hazy late-night phone call from the warped Scottish countryside circa 1998. "Summer Reading" feels like a Transformer-era Lou Reed bullying Mark E. Smith around a disco bouncey castle. Tracks from Psychic Welfare were remixed by Brassica, Higamos Hagamos, Ray Mang, and Worst Friends. Each of these remixes will be released as single support and included alongside additional original tracks as bonus downloads. The artwork of Psychic Welfare is taken from a a series of visual synth feedback experiments conducted by the band and video artist Adam Carrigan. The LP edition features a 48" x 96" heavy-stock pull out poster.
