On the flip, 'Mental Game' offers hazy late-night reveries and 'Confusion' is a swirling mix of warm and soulful house. 'A Few More Breaks Should Do The Trick' is a jazzy and zoned-out closer. What an EP.

* Rare Soul-Jazz-Fusion from Ann Arbor * Originally released on Tribe Records in 1976 * Featuring an all-star line-up * 180g Clear vinyl limited to 100 copies (lita Exclusive) * 180g Black vinyl limited to 500 copies (w/obi strip) Mixed bag (aka The Mixed Bag) was an all-star project from Detroit/Ann Harbor area who released one of the most obscure albums on the Tribe Records label in the 70s (and one of the greatest too). The line-up is impressing to say the least: On bass we have RON Brooks (who also produced the album). Brooks has been a major player in, and influence on, the Detroit jazz community for several decades. Ron emerged on the scene in the 1960s, performing on bass with piano greats-to-be Bob James and Stanley Cowell. He was a member of the Contemporary Jazz Quintet, led by the late, great Detroit pianist Kenny Cox. On the drums we have Danny Spencer who has a unique style that exemplifies the best of the Detroit tradition of aggressive and explorative drummers which gave the jazz world Elvin Jones, Freddie Waites, and Louis Hayes among others. His intense propulsive energy combined with his ability for subtle colorations made him Joe Henderson's choice for touring in the seventies and many concerts ever since. Spencer was also part of the legendary Contemporary Jazz Quintet which recorded for Blue Note and Strata Records. On Keyboards we have Eddie Russ who was an impressive jazz keyboardist-composer-arranger who worked with numerous legends through several decades, including Sonny Stitt, Sarah Vaughn, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Dizzy Gillespie, Stan Getz, Roland Kirk, Marcus Belgrave, among many others. Russ came into his own in the 1970s with trend-setting excursions into jazz-funk that mirrored James Brown’s forays into hip-hop and dance. On the flute we have Larry Nozero who is a first call alto player and doubles on soprano sax and flute. No stranger to success, Nozero’s previous credits and collaborators include Henry Mancini, Sergio Mendes, and playing Soprano sax on Marvin Gaye’s iconic 1971 album, What’s Going On. Larry Nozero was at the forefront of many prominent musical projects in the Detroit area. Recorded at the Holland-Dozier-Holland Sound Studios where Tribe classics such as Wendell Harrison’s ‘Farewell To Welfare’ saw the light (but also home to P-Funk stars Parliament) the listener is treated to six sublime tracks built around skipping rhythms on drum and bass, filled in by angular reed passages and topped off with some really sweet keyboards. Expect nothing less than THE perfect blend of funky fusion and righteous soul jazz combined with gorgeous post-bop ballads and upbeat Latin flavored contemporary jazz. Tidal Waves Music now proudly presents a much-needed reissue of this spiritual Soul Jazz classic that was originally released on Tribe Records in 1976. This rare record (original copies tend to go for Large amounts on the secondary market) now comes as a deluxe 180g vinyl edition, strictly limited to 500 copies worldwide with obi strip and features the original sleeve notes by Bob James (known for his work with Chet Baker, Quincy Jones and Idris Muhammad).

You could say, ahem, that Infiltrate has infiltrated deep into our conscious with its fine run of releases as we are well and truly locked in to the output each and every time. As far as we can tell, both of these artists are new names who are making their first releases here - or they are at least appearing on Juno for the first time. But the music is so impressive we find it hard to believe this is their debut. Cyphon kicks off with the tight, twitchy electro workout that is 'Hegemony' which Gene Harvest mixes into something more full fat and celestial. Konertymi's 'Valtameri' is a rich, colourful world of freeform melodic arps and arching heavenly chords while Astraali Suunnittelu could be a Kraftwerk does modern electro tune.

Finely distorted kicks on "another Stain", by P.E.A.R.L., kick off the VA. With a constant yet evolving synth line, playful percussions that come and go and filter effects, the Spanish artists brings the dynamism to this piece. Maestro Jonas Kopp debuts on the imprint, delivering the acidic "Reversing The Poles". Jonas's shifting atmospheres and depth make this one a perfect tension builder for dancefloors.

On "Spare Matrix", Egotot and Franz Jager (who are no strangers to each other) team up again to present a track with elements from both artists. A rumbling low end, siren-like sounds and a constant uprising energy make this one an essential driving weapon. The deeper cut on the Various Artists, "Innapropiate content", is brought by Room founders Angioma and Blanka, characterised by the pair's very own rolling rhythms and hypnotism that put an end to this superb 4-track compilation.

Manchester-based producer Pach, who you may remember from his much loved 'Pull Up & Dance' anthem on Darius Syrossian's popular Moxy Muzik label last year, produces a generously proportioned four track EP for the Aesthetic stable. Take note of the title, as it dictates the contents, with the A-side's two tracks, the title track and '21 Bump Street', proving to be the definite uppers, both adding a delirious feel of disco euphoria to a sturdy tech-house framework. The flip side features the slightly darker and more mysterious cuts 'Sticky Fingers' and closer 'Six N Switch', the latter featuring the sound of some rather decadent X-rated activities in full swing. The musician Roberto Enrique "Tito" Chicoma forged one of the most solid and constant career paths in Peruvian music. Self-taught, he started playing tenor saxophone in his father's orchestra, also playing the trumpet, piano or trombone when the occasion arose.In 1959, at the age of 23, Tito moved to Lima, where he soon joined ensembles such as the Koki Palacios and Armando Boza orchestras, which took him abroad for the first time on tour. A recognized musician in his own right, Tito would later decide to form his own orchestra, which was soon hired by América Televisión, starring on programs such as "El Show de Juan Silva", where he accompanied international artists that visited Lima.In 1966, Tito made his first record under his own name on the MAG label, performing two cumbias by the Colombian group Los Teen Agers. The praise the single received led to the recording of his first LP, "El ritmo de moda", where he continued to compile Colombian songs.At the end of 1967, he dedicated his new LP project to recording two fashionable rhythms at the time: cumbias y boogaloos. The Colombian cumbia became popular in Peru from 1964 onwards, when local orchestras like those of Andrés de Colbert, Mario Cavagnaro, Eulogio Molina and Lucho Macedo recorded cumbia hits, then the genre soared when groups like Los Pacharacos and Los Demonios del Mantaro mixed it with Andean music. Boogaloo in Peru was popularized chiefly by the record label MAG, which kept its listeners up to date with developments in tropical music in New York, releasing and distributing records by Alegre Records and recording versions of hit songs such as 'El pito' and 'Mamblues' with local musicians.The recording sessions for "Cumbias y boogaloos" began in December 1967, when Tito released one of his first compositions: 'Dale U'. The electronic audiovisual project, inspired by ritual & regional music from the Iranian plateau The term "elemaun" (loanword from French) is equivalent to the English word element, commonly used in mathematical terms of the surface integral in Persian. The components and smaller surfaces that are selected to study the whole surface are called "elemaun." Such elements can contract in size to a considerable degree to estimate the limit value of the intended surface. The set consists of six compositions of digital and analog synthesizers, field recorded samples, ambient soundscapes, and synthesized drum machines referencing different cultures, music, and narratives and the same approach has been taken for computer-generated motion pictures and real-time edited video footage. The tunes are sampled as abstract, minimal, and repetitive motifs from different cultures of Baluch, Azeri, Southern Iranian Arabs, Khorasan, etc. After teh Linz Ars Electronica premiere of 2016 it was presented in Poland, Iran, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Germany and finally in Canada in 2019, where the artist is based, and just perfomed at Mutek festival 2022.

Shine Grooves: "This story began in 2008, at that time I dreamed of launching my own music label and was searching for something unique. I was looking for music in different sources and came across the Frunk29's tracks, this is how I met Marat Shainsky, his release was the first on the Biotronic Records (the label I owned in the mid-00s). Later Marat introduced me to his friend - Sergey Lazarev, aka Lazzich and we immediately put together the next release for the label. It was wonderful and hypnotizing music I had never heard before. After some time we prepared the material for the first Biotronic Vinyl, which was authored by Lazzich, but the release did not happen, due to certain circumstances. And now, 15 years later, the idea comes true, we release the Lazzich mini-album on the Hanagasumi 04. Although Sergey is no longer with us, but his music will live forever. Thanks to everyone who took a part in the search for materials, archives, projects, sketches. Special thanks to Shipulina Yana for providing information and cooperation, Marat Shainsky for the advice and tracks searching, Matvey Andreenko for giving me the large media archive of Lazzich's works, Denis Rooter for designing the cover, Semen Pupyshev for mixing the found Sergey's Reason-projects".

Fenne was born in London and moved to Dorset as a toddler, where she grew up in the picturesque English countryside. She was a "free range kid," as she calls it, after her parents took her out of school for a period at the age of seven. Over the following year, they taught her while the family travelled Europe in a live-in bus. Even after she returned to traditional school at 9, her home education never ended, extending to music. Her mother gifted Fenne with her old record collection, through which she discovered her love for T-Rex and the Velvet Underground and Nico. Soon after she fell for the strange genius of PJ Harvey and came to worship Nick Drake, Joni Mitchell, and the richly crafted worlds of Feist, which inspired Fenne to pick up a guitar. "On Hold," a tender collection of expressive, open-hearted songs, was Fenne's first foray into songwriting, written during her teenage years. Writing her own songs was initially a "therapy exercise" for Fenne, who is normally reserved when it comes to talking about her feelings. The album, self-released in 2018, organically found a large audience online, which grew after she opened for Lucy Dacus and Andy Shauf's North American tours last spring. Surrounding its release, The Line of Best Fit deemed Fenne "a new and extraordinary voice capable of wringing profound and resonant moments out of loss." In Fenne's words, "To have this record physically rereleased is a big deal for me and the person I was when I made it. A lot's changed since then but these songs and what they've given me will remain dependable reminders of beginnings and endings that shaped me as a teenager. For an album whose title is half `hold', it makes sense that now whoever wants to can finally do that again."

Three distinctly outer space-themed cuts from Greece's Alex Celler, each with a linear minimal/tech skeleton that has other, interloping musical influences draped elegantly and classily across it. 'Ancient Astronuats' has the weird, wired mystical stirrings of early Black Dog about it, complete with melting, bendy electro notations that coax it along and add a psychedelic dimension. 'Stargate To Cosmos' has a playful, Drexciyan feel to it, with crunchy, organic drum beats flirting alongside the more rigid electrics. 'Object In The Sky' is the most minimal of the pack, sleek and stalker-like, but still contains enough action - mainly floating around up there in the ether - to hold and build attention.

First known as a DJ and selector and then compilation curator of the "elsewhere" series of albums across multiple labels - including Emotional Response Ers042) - soFa recent collaborations as Mameen 3 on Bongo Joe, Cccvvv on Strangelove Music and the highly praised album with Houschyar and Okay Temiz on Second Circle, has established him as a producer of repute in an incredibly short time space.

Taking a production backseat to underpin Jashari's performance, his percussive, atmospheric oeuvre allows her vocals to explore roots in both Kosova and Belgium, molding a focus on the art of "the other" or the outsider. Outside the "normality"", a different energy is heard. Exploring elements of the human body, the human condition and its representation in various "thinking" systems and political contexts, EBG is manifestation in sound and movement.
