Two are surely better than one. Following Lory D and Fadi Mohem, Toronto based producer Graham Bertie aka Nautiluss also steps up for his second outing on Seilscheibenpfeiler, marking the label’s 10th overall release. Once more, Nautiluss is transforming playful and rhythmically intriguing bass music into prime dancefloor cuts, encompassing a rich array of sounds and moods ranging from upfront rave action to delicate deepness.

After Bambounou & Marco Shuttle, Peter Van Hoesen & Simo Cell, it's now the turn of french Avant-garde artist NSDOS and Detroit underground pillar Patrick Russell to share the 2 sides of the next split EP. "Botanic Garden" was recorded in a single take by NSDOS during a stay at the "Villa Medicis"(Roma,italy). As usual with him, the track is a trip halfway between shamanism and experimentation (including through its polyrhythmic structure), and whose intensity and style variations all along make it a perfect example of what we imagine to be the dancefloor music of the future: tribal and sophisticated. On the split side, Patrick Russell offers us his very first original solo track (he has produced so far only remixes or collaborations). “Heroes Of The East“, a story about love, pride and rivalry is re-written by Belgian producer Placid One who’s style perfectly fits to the Shaw Cuts trademark sound. The story begins with an arranged marriage between Chinese Kung Fu student Ho Tao and Japanese Yumiko Koda who is highly-trained in Karate. They live together happily until one day, they decide to practice together. „Morse“, its blazing pads, energetic percussion and powerful rhythm weaves and chimes in sync with their intense and raw training duel. Relentless arguing about which martial style and philosophy is better leads Koda to become offended, so she returns to Japan. “Foothills“ is a bright, sonic forcefield and its pulsating drums set the tone for a voyage of mixed emotions and self-doubt. Marital and cultural misunderstandings lead Koda’s former school in Japan to send seven of their strongest students to fight Ho Tao and prove which country has superior fighting styles. Spurred on by radiant pads, chasing percussions and the heavy kickdrum of „Melopée“, Ho Tao wins all battles, two by trickery. He even begins to admire and learn about Japanese culture and martial prowess. But there is one more duel. Takeno, Koda’s master, challenges Ho Tao to a clash of styles. Darts, needles and shurikens catapult through the air, swords and spears collide, and crab style takes on fujian white crane. Armed with sharp chords, colossal drum jabs and menacing soundscapes, Lazarus supports the titan duel with his remix version of „Foothills“. This new 7-inch by S-tone Inc., that includes two brand new tracks, confirms Stefano Tirone’s 20-year old collaboration with Brazilian songwriter Toco. “Try My Love” is a fluid, relaxed and dreamy funk song that blends soul jazz with a ‘70s downtempo drumming groove. “Odoya”, featuring Toco on vocals, is a bit more faster composition, that would perfectly fit as a soundtrack of a typical Italian police movie from the same decade! Simply fantastic!

Stefano Tirone is an eclectic artist, open to a wide range of different music genres.
