Debo Band Debo Band

Die DEBO BAND umfasst elf Mitglieder unter der Führung des äthiopisch-amerikanischen Saxophonisten Danny Mekonnen mit dem charismatischen Frontmann Bruck Tesfaye am Mikrophon. Seit ihrer Gründung 2006 ist die Band zwei Mal durch Äthiopien getourt und ist sowohl auf dem Ethiopian Music Festival in Addis Ababa und auf dem Sauti Za Busara, dem größten Musikfestival in Ostafrika, aufgetretetn. In Nordamerika haben sie Bühnen mit GOGOL BORDELLO, THE FAMILY STONE, TILAHUN GESSESSE, THE EX mit der äthiopischen Saxophonlegende Getatchew Mekuria, GROUP DOUEH und KHAIRA ARBY geteilt. Darüber hinaus haben sie auf dem Montreal Jazz Festival und auf dem World Music Festival in Chicago gespielt.
