Cosmic Forces Of Oneness C.F.O. (Cosmic Forces Of Oneness)

As part of the legendary Budapest event series “Monday Session”, an improvised concert was performed on the bank of the mighty Danube river, out beneath the open skies at Pontoon Budapest, right next to the Chain Bridge in the middle of the city on a September night in 2017. The one off formation led by Szabolcs Bognár consisted of Szabolcs on keys, shekere and kpanlogo, Viktor Sági on guitar, Levente Boros and Zsolt Krecsmáry on drums, András Koroknay on bass guitar and Moog, Dávid Szarvas and Yuma Na’Ma on various percussions and Gábor Weisz on tenor, soprano saxophone and flute. The band has improvised for nearly 90 minutes, out of which 40 minutes of music is presented on this LP, side A being the nearly uncut first 20 minutes of the performance. Just a few weeks prior to the concert Szabolcs has returned to Budapest from a five month residency in Brazil. As a result, the musical direction was determined by the percussion-infused concepts of African and Brazilian styles. (These musical aspirations were later fulfilled in the founding of not just Àbáse but The Mabon Dawud Republic, as well as Felabration Budapest and United In Sound - Cosmic Forces of Oneness events). The South American and African inspirations were naturally interpreted and shaped by the local musicians – spiritual jazz, avant-garde and Hungarian folk music influences – resulting in a kind of fictional, forgotten, archaic-spiritual musical world. The resulted recordings, captured by Pontoon sound engineer Dávid Czirók 'Pufi', is now finally available on Oshu Records in the form of 300 limited edition vinyl.
