1969 soundtrack from Piero Umiliani Pressed on Yellow Vinyl & includes a 30x30cm insert First ever vinyl release of several tracks! “L'arcangelo” (The Archangel) is a 1969 comedy characterised by police and judiciary tones, directed by GIorgio Capitani and starring, among others, Vittorio Gassman, Pamela Tiffin, Adolfo Celi, Irina Demick and Carlo Delle Piane.

This soundtrack follows the previous “La notte è fatta per... rubare” (Night is Made for Stealing) which marked the beginning of Umiliani’s collaboration with the director. Mainly displaying a Latin American flavour, it contains several elements typical of the composer’s style, mixing bossa nova and samba with beat rhythms and Hammond organ, and is enriched by various vocal contributions from Alessandro Alessandroni’s Cantori Moderni and the delightful scat singing of Giulia De Mutiis, one of the choir’s female voices. Distorted electric guitars with orchestral ensemble also create an atmosphere between spy and detective story.

None of “The Archangel” tracks have ever been released in any form for many years, and to date there are only three CD editions only issued in Japan. This clear yellow vinyl version therefore fills a void and finally returns these wonderful compositions to us in the format that suits them best!

1966 soundtrack from Ennio Morricone Pressed on Transparent Green Vinyl & includes a 30x30cm insert First ever release of four tracks on vinyl! “Come imparai ad amare le donne” (How I learned to love women) is a 1966 romantic comedy directed by Luciano Salce; the cast includes internationally renowned actors such as Anita Ekberg, Michèle Mercier and Robert Hoffman, as well as a very young Romina Power who was only 14 years old at the time. The beginning of the artistic collaboration between Ennio Morricone and Salce dates back to 1961, with one of the Maestro’s very first soundtracks, “Il federale” (The Fascist); the partnership then continued with “La voglia matta” (Crazy Desire), “La cuccagna” (A Girl… and a Million), “Le monachine” (The Little Nuns), “Slalom”, “El Greco” and, finally, “Come imparai ad amare le donne”.

For this film, Ennio Morricone composed a soundtrack that is a true hymn to love, with an elegant and refined atmosphere led by the beat ballad “Pioggia sul tuo viso” performed by the English group The Sorrows, and by various romantic themes such as “La diva”, “La donna gattina” and “La donna romantica” that alternate with classical compositions such as “Alta moda” and “Alla corte di Luigi Xvi”. The love theme returns in a danceable version in the opening credits.

Originally released in 1966 and reissued in 1985, this soundtrack is finally reissued on clear green vinyl LP with a new artwork and a 30x30cm insert. In addition, four tracks are here released on vinyl for the first time. Liner notes and audio remastered by Claudio Fuiano.

- First ever LP edition, Record Store Day 2025 exclusive on white vinyl with 30x30cm insert. - Liner notes and audio remastered by Claudio Fuiano. - First Ever Vinyl Edition!!! ''Dietro il Processo'' is a set of TV investigation episodes directed by Franco Biancacci and broadcast in Italy by RAI from 1978 to 1980, as part of the ''Storie allo Specchio'' series. Ennio Morricone wrote the main theme for ''Dietro il Processo'' and scored the three episodes ''L'urlo'', ''L'ultima notte di Pier Paolo Pasolini'' and ''Il caso Montesi''. None of Morricone's tracks were initially released and only in 2009 this soundtrack appeared on CD. For ''Dietro il Processo'' Ennio Morricone wrote a dark, mysterious main theme, perfect for describing urban reality, in which the oboe, the trumpet with mute and the already mentioned flugelhorn played by Oscar Valdambrini intervene (A1, A4, A7, B7). ''Confuso notturno'' is a soft and extremely romantic piece for harpsichord and strings (a2), reprised in a pop key for saxophone and strings (a5), slower and more magical with keyboard and strings (b1) and in a version for trumpet and strings (b4). ''Chiedere aiuto'' is another motif of suspense and mystery, where the piano is accompanied by strings (a3), then reprised including Valdambrini's flugelhorn (b3), while ''Dietro la facciata'' (a6) is an apparently smooth theme for flugelhorn and strings that creates a suspended and hallucinatory atmosphere, reprised with sax (b2) and piano (b5). For this edition the original session stereo masters have been used. Dietro Il Processo; Confuso Notturno; Chiedere Aiuto; Dietro Il Processo (#2); Confuso Notturno (#2); Dietro La Facciata; Dietro Il Processo (#3); Confuso Notturno (#3); Dietro La Facciata (#2); Chiedere Aiuto (#2); Confuso Notturno (#4); Dietro La Facciata (#3); Dietro Il Processo (#4)

- First ever LP edition, Record Store Day 2025 exclusive on clear yellow vinyl with 30x30cm insert. - Liner notes and audio remastered by Claudio Fuiano. - First Ever Vinyl Release!!! ''Kiss Kiss... Bang Bang'' is a 1966 spy movie directed by Duccio Tessari, starring Giuliano Gemma, Daniele Vargas and George Martin among others. That same year only a 45rpm was released, including the tracks ''Love Love Bang Bang'' sung by Nancy Cuomo, accompanied by Alessandro Alessandroni's Cantori Moderni, and ''Kiss-me-Warren-please''. Therefore, this is the first ever vinyl edition of this soundtrack, including sixteen tracks taken from the original session mono master, for a total length of about 38 minutes. Bruno Nicolai composed a soundtrack based on different versions of the two main themes. ''Love Love Bang Bang'', the song from the opening credits (a1), is featured with different arrangements: dreamy for sax and piano (a4), baroque classical (a5), march (b1), as a tender lullaby for strings and celesta (b4) and even with a James Bond-style intro (b8). ''Kiss-Me-Warren-Please'', the main character's love theme, is instead present as a jazz motif with solo sax (a2), trumpet (a6) and clarinet (b2). Bruno Nicolai has also composed evocative suspenseful atmospheres with organ and rhythmic effects to describe the spy side of the plot (A3, A7, B6) and tracks that would perfectly fit in a nightclub context (A8, B5, B7). Love Love Bang Bang (Main Titles); Kiss-Me-Warren-Please (Sax Version); Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (Mystery Theme 1); Love Love Bang Bang (Sexy Version); Love Love Bang Bang (Opera); Kiss-Me-Warren-Please (Trumpet Version); Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (Mystery Theme 2); Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (Fox-Trot); Love Love Bang Bang (Big March); Kiss-Me-Warren-Please (Night Club); Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (Can-Can); Love Love Bang Bang (Love Theme); Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (Night Club); Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (Mystery Theme 3); Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (Boogie); Love Love Bang Bang (007 Version) (Finale)

- Record Store Day 2025 exclusive on clear red vinyl with 30x30cm insert. - Liner notes and audio remastered by Claudio Fuiano. - 60s Cult Sci-fi Soundtrack Reissued With Brand NEW Artwork! ''...4..3..2..1... Morte'' is a 1967 sci-fi movie directed by Primo Zeglio, based on the adventures of the astronaut Perry Rhodan, a character created by Walter Ernsting. All'epoca di questa colonna sonora non fu pubblicato nulla, neppure un 45 giri. Not a single note was released at the time, not even a 45rpm. Starting from the original mono master tapes of the recording session, it has been possible to assemble an album that will delight fans of fantastic cinema and lounge music. 15 tracks have been selected, for an excellent sound experience that will take the listener into space-time dimensions with the sound colours of the late sixties. The crystal voice of Edda Dell'Orso, accompanied by the prestigious choir of Alessandro Alessandroni's Cantori Moderni performs the wild danceable beat track ''Seli'', written by Marcello Giombini, introduced in the opening (a1) and closing credits (b7), and reprised in three different instrumental versions (A5, B1, B3). To describe the perils of outer space, Anton Garcia Abril and Marcello Giombini wrote musical themes that flirt with experimental music, thanks to organ effects and Cantori Moderni's voices (A2, A6, A8, B2, B5), but also to tribal sounds (a4), exotic-espionage atmospheres (a7), chase music (a3), shake (b4) and a military march shading into noir sensations (b5). Seli (Main Titles); 4.3.2.1... Morte ! (Seq. 1); 4.3.2.1... Morte ! (Seq. 7); 4.3.2.1... Morte ! (Seq. 2); Seli (Love Theme); 4.3.2.1... Morte ! (Seq. 3); 4.3.2.1... Morte ! (Seq. 4); 4.3.2.1... At the end of the '60s in Italy - but also abroad, especially in France and England - a very particular trend began to spread, that one known as 'Library music' or 'sonorization': as suggested by its name, those were real music libraries intended for the accompaniment of audiovisual productions such as television programs, advertisements, documentaries and films. Since they were created in total artistic freedom condition, they are often difficult if not impossible to catalog, as they're not anchored to a specific musical genre; this freedom also allowed the authors to compose, sometimes in the most complete anonymity, experimental and avant-garde music, capable of anticipating the sounds that only many years later would have been widespread on a larger scale. Daniela Casa (1944 - 1986) was a singer and composer, wife of another library music artist, Remigio Ducros, who wrote "America Giovane" (Young America), an LP that ideally precedes this second chapter. Originally released in 1975, "America Giovane N. 2" is today - like almost the entire Edizioni Leonardi catalog - extremely rare and among the most sought-after by collectors. Musically, it shares with the aforementioned "America Giovane" a remarkable stylistic variety: from folk to psychedelia, from funk to rhythm 'n blues but, unlike the first volume, on this record there's a more or less evident jazz aura ("Fix" and "Soft Bird" are practically two short free-jazz excursions!) that makes it even more interesting and unique. "America Giovane N. 2" is part of a reissues series, made in collaboration with Edizioni Leonardi (Milan, Italy), of extremely rare library music LP's published between late '60s and early '70s, most of which have never been released again until today, and that are finally made available again for collectors and sonorization music lovers. First official reissue ever on black vinyl.

A very obscure and one of the rarest albums from Italian rock music scene of the 70's. This album takes on ecology as its theme and sings of the evil of polluting the planet. Terrific basic progressive music housed in a creative gimmick sleeve with window to flower. Blocco Mentale were a quintet, consisting of Aldo Angeletti (who wrote the music) on vocals and bass, Michele Arena on drums and vocals, Gigi "Roso" Bianchi on guitar and vocals, Filippo Lazzari on keyboards, harmonica and vocals, and Dino Finocchi on vocals, sax and flute. Musically Blocco Mentale is characterised by a progressive style with some personal touches. The best intruments are the horns and the keyboards.

The album opens with angular staccato sax riffs and then slides into a lush melody somewhat reminiscent of PFM ( Premiata Forneria Marconi ) in their early (and best) days. There are rich vocal harmonies blended with organ and flute, and once again a Meditteranean sensibility which distinguishes much of the best Italian progressive rock. (The opening lines of that opening track, "Capita," are recapitulated in the closing lines of the sixth track, "Ritorno," but the album still has one track to go at that point, oddly enough). Swelling Mellotrons blend into vocal harmonies, and give way to a cascading piano line. The music moves around a lot in the course of the album. The fourth track, "Io E Me," is an amazing Meditteranean blues, with a wailing harmonica taking the lead.

In the first half of the 70s the landscape of pop / rock music world was
revolutionized by a current defined as 'progressive'. For those groups who
dared to deviate from the 'commercial' stream and propose something
different, a double destiny was reserved: they could become a meteor-band,
releasing only one LP or so before disappearing completely, or emerge from
anonymity and capture the attention of major record labels.
This was the case of Le Orme who, after a debut on Car Juke-Box, were
engaged by Philips, releasing several albums who made history. And in an
attempt to ride the wave of success led by "Collage", "Uomo di Pezza" and
"Felona e Sorona", the record label didn't take long to propose the release of
a live record, which turned out to be "In concert ", one of the first if not THE
actual first live album ever printed in Italy.
The haste in wanting to market a new product with "Le Orme" brand on it
prevailed on the quality of the recordings, consisting of one side fully
improvised (the two parts of "Truck of Fire") and the other with songs from
the "Collage" LP; but the charm of this work, also due to the beautiful
photographic cover, comes out unharmed, and the grooves of "In Concert"
deliver us the 'real' Le Orme, without any tricks or deception, but sincere as
only a live performance can be!

- First ever LP reissue, Record Store Day 2025 exclusive on clear red vinyl with 30x30cm insert. - Liner notes and audio remastered by Claudio Fuiano. - First Ever Vinyl Edition!!! ''Arcana'' is a horror/dramatic movie directed by Giulio Questi and starring, among others, Lucia Bose, Maurizio Degli Esposti e Tina Aumont. Its soundtrack, composed by Romolo Grano, is here reissued for the first time ever on vinyl. For ''Arcana'' Romolo Grano composed a soundtrack that develops in a truly original way, almost like in a lively ballet, characterized by classical flavoured strings with a pop music accompaniment, Edda Dell'Orso's voice, and the Hammond organ in the title-track (a1). ''Introversione'' (a2) features strings full of tension, distorted electric guitars and a marimba. ''Taranta'' (a3) is basically folk music with violin and percussion to accompany some sequences of the film. ''L'uomo con se stesso'' (a4) is an extremely delicate piece for solo guitar, then romantically reprised in ''L'uomo con se stesso (Pt. 2)'' (b1) in an orchestral version with Edda Dell'Orso's voice and pop rhythms. ''Sacro e profano'' (b2) contains a part of the two previous themes, but with a mysterious violin performance, distorted electric guitars and dissonant strings layers. In ''Percezioni extra sensoriali'' (b3) harpsichord, string tremolos, flute, marimba, vibraphone and female vocals create an atmosphere of supernatural-sounding anguish. This soundtrack was arranged and conducted by Berto Pisano. At the time, RCA produced a small run of a rare promotional LP that is here reissued on vinyl for the first time ever using the stereo master assembled by the composer himself, with a total running time of around 31 minutes. Arcana; Introversione; Taranta; Luomo con se stesso; L'uomo con se stesso (Pt. 2); Sacro e profano; Percezioni extra sensoriali

First Ever vinyl edition. “La Signora Gioca Bene a Scopa?” is a 1974 erotic comedy directed by Giuliano Carnimeo, with Edwige Fenech and Carlo Giuffré as main characters. Nothing from this soundtrack had been released at the time, not even a 45rpm; only in 2010 it has been fully revealed on CD. For the first time ever, therefore, the soundtrack of “La signora gioca bene a scopa?” is now released on vinyl, sourced from the original sessions stereo masters. Alessandroni has composed a cheerful fox-trot main theme for orchestra and sexy female vocals, as usual entrusted to the legendary Edda Dell’Orso (A1, B8), then reprised as an elegant orchestral version (a2), as a bossa (a4), a romantic theme for strings (a5), a tango (a6), with Alessandroni’s famous whistle (A9, B2), with flutes (b4) and with electric guitar (b7). This brilliant motif is alternated with mystical religious music for strings (a7), elegant bossa pop (A8, A10, B1, B6) and dramatic funeral music (b5).

“Le Foto Proibite di una Signora Perbene” (Forbidden Photos of a Lady above Suspicion) is a 1970 giallo film directed by Luciano Ercoli ("La Morte Accarezza a Mezzanotte" and "La Polizia ha le Mani Legate" are probably his most popular cult works among fans of the thriller / police genre) starring the German-born actress Dagmar Lassander. Yet another soundtrack that remained unpublished for decades and rediscovered only at the end of the 90s, “Le Foto Proibite…” is a very varied work in which Ennio Morricone, as usual, manages to adapt his scores to light-hearted (“Allegretto per Signora”, “Intermezzino Pop”, “Secondo Intermezzino Pop”), romantic (“Le Foto Proibite di una Signora Per Bene”, “Amore come Dolore”, “Quelle Foto”) and hectic moments (“Qui ci Scappa il Morto”, “Bella, Cara, Dolce, Buona Mogliettina Per Bene”, “Caduta nel’Inconscio”, “Nel Vuoto”) that the movie consists of. An excellent work for a cult film of Italian genre cinema, reissued on clear pink vinyl. with remastered audio.

- First ever LP edition exclusive for Record Store Day 2025 on clear acid green vinyl with 30x30cm insert. - Liner notes and audio remastered by Claudio Fuiano. - First Ever Vinyl Edition!!! ''A come Andromeda'' is a TV sci-fi mini-series directed by Vittorio Cottafavi, based on the eponymous novel (A for Andromeda) written by Fred Hoyle and John Elliot, aired in Italy by RAI in 1972. Its soundtrack, composed and conducted by Mario Migliardi, is finally released on vinyl for the first time ever. While listening to this album, one is plunged into a sci-fi dimension of experimental sounds that are sometimes hallucinatory, sometimes calm and tonal. Alessandroni's Cantori Moderni take part in this, blending into a magma of sounds constantly balanced between Heaven and Hell. ''Tema di Andromeda'' (a1), the main theme with Edda Dell'Orso's crystal voice, with its baroque flavour and modern arrangement with distorted electric guitars and rhythms, was a huge radio and discographic success in the wake of the great popularity of the TV series. ''Le spiagge di Durness'' (a2) is a romantic and rhythmic string piece, almost a ballet like those typical of the great old Italian TV shows. The original session is in mono, apart from the single and the dissonant tracks (A3, A4) that were mixed in stereo. Fascinating soundscapes characterise this score (A5, A6, B1, B2, B3, B4), alternating between orchestral parts and electronic music. There are also lounge passages such as a flute bossa (a6) and an energetic shake (b5). Tema Di Andromeda (Mix Singolo Lato A); La Spiaggia Di Durness (Mix Singolo Lato B); A Come Andromeda (Seq. 18); A Come Andromeda (Seq. 19); A Come Andromeda (Seq. 2); A Come Andromeda (Seq. 3); A Come Andromeda (Seq. 5); A Come Andromeda (Seq. 6); A Come Andromeda (Seq. 7); A Come Andromeda (Seq. 9); A Come Andromeda (Seq. 10); A Come Andromeda (Seq. 11); A Come Andromeda (Seq. 12); A Come Andromeda (Seq. 15)

Two very different albums by two almost totally different bands, is all that Procession have left us. This band from Turin made their first album Frontiera in 1972 for the small Help label (an RCA subsidiary that also released Quella Vecchia Locanda’s first album), a good album that can be easily described as an hard prog LP. With a line-up of two guitars, bass and drums, and the original high-pitched voice of singer Gianfranco Gaza, the band plays a very good hard rock with some progressive influences and acoustic passages. Not particularly original, the album has its moments and it’s particularly rare.

The band reappeared in 1974 with a new line-up and a new recording deal, this time it’s Fonit that releases their second album “Fiaba”. A mature work, much more original than their first and more in a symphonic vein with large use of sax and flute with guest appearances by drummer Francesco Froggio Francica (from Raccomandata con Ricevuta di Ritorno), Delirium’s keyboard player Ettore Vigo and Circus 2000 female singer Silvana Aliotta, while drummer Roberto Balocco (ex-Capsicum Red) helped the group in concert.

Despite a good live activity Procession never gained the success they deserved and despite two good albums they broke up in 1975.

Giuliano Sorgini is one of the most mysterious library music and soundtrack composers: practically nothing is known about his life, despite his name being linked to dozens of albums and compositions, and to various collaborations with artists such as Alessandro Alessandroni and Lesiman - for which he used the pseudonym of Raskovich. Compared to the already reissued experimental and avant-garde LP "Elettroformule", "Percussioni in Crescendo" is much more heterogeneous and melodic, suspended between jazz-rock and lounge, bossa nova and funk, with sometimes minimal keyboards that evoke exotic atmospheres.

"Percussioni in Crescendo" is part of a reissues series, made in collaboration with Edizioni Leonardi (Milan, Italy), of extremely rare library music LP's published between late '60s and early '70s, most of which have never been released again until today, and that are finally made available again for collectors and sonorization music lovers.

First official reissue ever on black vinyl.

An internationally known artist, Franco Battiato has been everything in his long career, from beat singer to avantgarde performer, producer, contemporary music composer. His beginnings lay in the mid 60's, with many singles released with no particular success, the first two under his real name of Francesco. He had left the native Sicily (he was born in Jonia, near Catania in 1945) moving to Milan around 1965.

In 1970 after his collaboration with Osage Tribe (that he quit before their only album Arrowhead) he had a record deal with Bla Bla, releasing his first solo album in 1972. Fetus, housed in a outrageous cover (reproducing a foetus) was definitely a prog album, but a very original one, with a minimalist sound mainly based on the use of a Vcs3 synth, unusual lyrics, complex arrangements. Two tracks, Energia and Una cellula were also released as single. (source: www.italianprog.com)

Produced by Pino Massara in the '70s, "Foetus" remained unreleased until 1999, when Vinyl Magic finally released it on CD (VM CD 065).

Oronzo De Filippi is known not only for his library music works, but also for
having been part of the project The Braen's Machine, together with
Alessandro Alessandroni, another very important name in this context.
"Meccanizzazione" is a completely instrumental record - like practically all
LP's in this genre - literally dominated by the sound of the harpsichord, and it
substantially features two main kinds of compositions: the most 'friendly' and
easy-listening ones with a jazz-lounge and bossanova flavor, and the darker
and hypnotic ones, decidedly more fitting the repetitiveness of the industrial
world and its machines at work.
"Ritmo dell'industria N. 2" is part of a reissues series, made in collaboration
with Edizioni Leonardi (Milan, Italy), of extremely rare library music LP's
published between late '60s and early '70s, most of which have never been
released again until today, and that are finally made available again for

Remigio Ducros, pianist and composer, author of about 20 library music LP's, with "America Giovane" (Young America) produces a heterogeneous compendium of musical genres coming from the United States, that could perfectly fit as an accompaniment to the '60s/70s hippie gatherings and events. Country (Country Feeling, On the West Road), funk (Black Not Coloured), blues (Ride On, Village Blues, State of Harlem), soul/r&b (Black Congregation), southern rock (Rock - H), psychedelic-tinged prog (The New Phylosophy), hard rock (Hendrix Memento, Campus Sit In), plus three songs for solo armonica (Week-end Down Town, Sunday in Central Park) and flute (Lonesome Voice).

Giuliano Sorgini is one of the most mysterious composers of the sonorization and soundtrack genres: almost nothing is known about his life, despite his name being linked to dozens of albums and compositions. "Elettroformule" is probably one of his most 'extreme' experiments: a collection of thirteen short improvisations generated with the sole aid of electronic instruments: abstract compositions, balanced between ambient and noise music, perfect for a hypothetical science fiction from the '60/70s.

Faithful reproduction of the original edition with inner envelope, on white vinyl

lFranco Falsini is a musician and composer who, already in the mid-'60s, was full-time involved in music
activities: a tireless traveler and experimenter, an artist with uncommon curiosity and intuition, after
having lived for some time in the United States and England, he finally established again in Italy where he gave shape to Sensations' Fix and signed a contract with Polydor for the release of six records in five years.

In addition to the composition and release of the Sensations' Fix LP's, Falsini was able to record a solo
album in 1975, 'Cold Nose (Naso freddo)', the soundtrack of the eponymous short film directed by Filippo Milani, which Falsini himself says it's the description of 'a day in the life of a Freudian cocaine addict. There were only three actors, two of whom represented the paranoia of the main and only character, Miguel, a Spaniard who lived as a photomodel companion. [...] There was no action at all in the film, which was basically made of moving photographs, with many close-ups [...]. This, with the absence of dialogues, made the soundtrack fundamental. The slowness of the images had to be reflected in music, and synchronizing everything wasn't easy. [...] Everything was analogic and the tape cuts were handmade'.

Sonically speaking, 'Cold Nose' is a space/psychedelic trip played by Falsini in complete autonomy, with
only bass, guitar, keyboards/synthesizers and sporadic vocalizations at the end of the third and last part of the opera, a long 20-minute composition that fills the entire B-side of the record. Sounds and atmospheres are still fresh totay, and it wouldn't have been wrong to define them 'avant-garde' back in those days!

Faithful reproduction of the original edition with inner envelope, in white vinyl.

180g Blue LP /// Listening today to the music produced by Sensations’ Fix, a project founded and directed by Franco Falsini in ‘70s, can’t just leave anyone indifferent. Already in the mid-‘60s, Falsini was full-time involved in musical activities: a tireless traveler and experimenter, an artist with uncommon curiosity and intuition, after having lived for some time in the United States and England, he finally established again in Italy where he gave shape to Sensations’ Fix and signed a contract with Polydor for the release of six records in five years. Often associated with the sound of Tangerine Dream and the so-called German ‘cosmic couriers’, Sensations’ Fix were much more than mere clones of something already existing.

“Sensations’ Fix” is – together with “Portable Madness” and “Fragments of Light” – one of the three titles published in 1974, a collection of short psychedelic compositions, in which glimpses of ‘cosmic’ music can already be noticed; those elements would soon become a trademark in the group’s repertoire. The twelve compositions present here were part of demos that Falsini had sold to the record company, which decided to publish them in the form of a not-for-sale LP, which had “music especially recorded for radio and television” written on the back cover: in practice, sketches of musical ideas had been ‘transformed’ into ‘library music’ and collected in an extremely rare vinyl that sells today for hundreds of euros.

Sensations’ Fix albums are generally difficult to find; almost none of them has been reprinted in over forty years, but thanks to this series of reissues on the VM label it is now possible to rediscover them all.

First time on vinyl /// 180g Green LP /// Listening today to the music produced by Sensations’ Fix, a project founded and directed by Franco Falsini in ‘70s, can’t just leave anyone indifferent.

“Finest Finger” is Sensations’ Fix’s fourth album, originally released in 1976 and never officially reissued on vinyl until today. The making of this record coincided with the line-up addition of a second keyboard player and, even if Franco Falsini remains the only author of all its songs, the album sounds much more homogeneous, fluent, inspired, better produced than the band’s previous ones and is clearly the result of a proper teamwork. For the first time, Falsini also took care of the singing parts in four of the eight tracks, with very good results. This is probably the first album in which, thanks to the experience and means acquired, the sound of Sensations’ Fix takes on more precise and personal shapes.

Sensations’ Fix albums are generally difficult to find; almost none of them has been reprinted in over forty years, but thanks to this series of reissues on the VM label it is now possible to rediscover them all.

A five-piece from Milan, Alusa Fallax were formed in 1969 deriving from Gli Adelfi, and released their first single the same year, with a second one not long after. Also in 1969 one of the members (there were two of them with the same name) released a solo single as Guido degli Alusa Fallax (“Guardarti negli occhi” on West Side). The band kept playing and released their one and only album in 1974 on Fonit; a great little-known gem, in the best Italian prog tradition, led by keyboards with classical influences, it reminds of the best things Banco del Mutuo Soccorso ever made. No less than 13 tracks are listed on the label, but these are connected to form two long suites very well played and sung, and with interesting lyrics. The Sicilians Flea debuted in 1971 under the name Flea on the Honey with an album strongly inspired by the British pop-psych scene. The band’s line-up includes the two brothers Agostino (drums) and Antonio Marangolo (vocals and keyboards), Carlo Pennisi (guitar, vocals) – all of them would later join the legendary horror score masters Goblin! – and Elio Volpini (bass, vocals, saxophone), who then played in L’Uovo di Colombo. If the debut album can be considered at least partly raw and derivative, albeit well produced and structured, with “Topi o Uomini” Flea unleash their creativity in a beautiful album, which opens with the twenty-minute title-track, a song characterized by stunning robustness and consistency, that crosses over hard rock, blues and psychedelic territories with remarkable smoothness. The quartet’s inventiveness goes even further on the second side of the record, especially with the track “Sono un pesce” (I am a fish), distinguished by dreamy acoustic atmospheres mixed with jazz-tinged improvisations. A unique and unrepeatable album, reissued on transparent red vinyl with faithful reproduction of the original artwork.

Hailing from the Italian town of Ancona, Agorà were founded in 1974 and, thanks to a simple demo, managed to capture the attention of the promoters of the legendary Montreux Festival (which many will remember for the famous fire that inspired Deep Purple’s “Smoke on the Water”). Their technical skills enabled the band to walk on the event stage in full force, and to perform an exceptional show, captured in this memorable LP: this is also the first time that an Italian band debuted with a live album. The main inspiration for Agorà’s music comes from artists such as Weather Report, Perigeo and the 60s/70s electric Miles Davis, but the entire performance is imbued by a spiritual aura – you just can’t avoid hearing the melody of John Coltrane’s “A Love Supreme” while listening to the track “Penetration” – that further elevates the quality of this offering. A little gem, here reissued on transparent green vinyl, including a reproduction of the original insert.

“Il Serpente” (Night Flight from Moscow) is a 1973 spy and thriller film directed by Henri Verneuil, starring among others Yul Brinner, Henry Fonda and Philippe Noiret. It’s one of the French director’s six movies that feature a soundtrack composed by Ennio Morricone, who here managed to describe the thrilling atmosphere of this high-voltage espionage, alternating dramatic and mysterious passages (“Assassinio sul Lago”, “Il Serpente”) and experimental ones (“Astrazione con Ritmo”, “Esplicitamente Sospeso”) to other soft and sensual (“Canzone Lontana”), still with the amazing contribution of Edda Dell’Orso and Alessandro Alessandroni’s I Cantori Moderni. “Tema per una Donna Sola” Morricone is a sweet and melancholic theme with modern rhythmic patterns; There is also music with a danceable flavor such as “Nadine” with organ, groovy drums and rock guitars, always with Cantori Moderni’s wonderful voices, a solemn church organ-only composition (“Orazione”) and an excited march (“Parata Militare”). “Gli Occhi Freddi della Paura” (Cold Eyes of Fear) is a 1971 thriller film directed by Enzo G. Castellari (who also directed "Quel Maledetto Treno Blindato", one of Quentin Tarantino's absolute favourites), with the participation of an international cast of actors including Frank Wolff, Fernando Rey, Julian Mateos and Karin Schubert. Set almost exclusively inside a villa where a kidnapping takes place, the film relies on one of the darkest and most terrifying soundtracks by Ennio Morricone, where melody is practically non-existent in favour of dreadful and claustrophobic atmospheres. As performers, directed by Bruno Nicolai, we find an ensemble Morricone himself was a part of, named Gruppo di Improvvisazione Nuova Consonanza, that perfectly execute the dissonant and avant-garde sounds of the score. When the groove kicks in, the music recalls the revolutionary fusion/jazz-rock of the late ‘60s / early ‘70s Miles Davis.

1971 soundtrack from Ennio Morricone Pressed on Transparent Clear Vinyl & includes a 30x30cm insert Liner notes and audio remastered by Claudio Fuiano “Sacco e Vanzetti” is a 1971 dramatic movie directed by Giuliano Montaldo and masterfully starred by the two lead actors Gian Maria Volonté and Riccardo Cucciolla; the film deals with the everpopular topic of the death penalty by recounting a real event that caused quite a stir at the time: the sentencing to the electric chair of two Italian immigrants who were executed in 1927 after a sevenyear trial.

For “Sacco & Vanzetti” Ennio Morricone composed one of the most intense scores of his long and successful career, starting with the mostly romantic and extremely sad theme for oboe and orchestra “Speranze di libertà”. Joan Baez’s charming voice interprets “La ballata di Sacco e Vanzetti”, divided into three parts alternating with the macabre theme of “Nel carcere” provided by electronic effects and ripping strings that would fit well in a giallo movie. The ballad motif is then reprised and played by liturgical organ and orchestra in “Sacco e il figlio”, while “La sedia elettrica” is an experimental electronic music cut. The closing song “Here’s to You”, sung by Joan Baez, has become a sort of anthem worldwide.

On the occasion of Record Store Day 2024, this legendary soundtrack is exclusively reissued on clear vinyl, with new artwork and a 30x30cm insert. Liner notes and audio remastered by Claudio Fuiano.

1974 soundtrack from Ennio Morricone Pressed on Red Vinyl & includes a 30x30cm insert Liner notes and audio remastered by Claudio Fuiano “Allonsanfàn” is a 1974 historical film written and directed by Paolo and Vittorio Taviani; set in 1816 in Italy during the Restoration period, its cast features, among others, Marcello Mastroianni, Lea Massari, Laura Betti and Mimsy Farmer.

“Allonsanfàn” is the first collaboration between the two directors and Morricone, who would also compose the music for the film “Il prato” (The Meadow, 1979). The soundtrack starts with a main marching theme, “Rabbia e tarantella”, introduced by the piano and reworked in a thrilling way by the full orchestra; Giuseppe Tornatore liked it so much that in 2009 he asked Morricone to write a similar musical theme for a sequence of the film “Baarìa”. This motif is alternated with the bucolic passages for flute and orchestra of “Ritorno a casa”, the festive “Dirindindin”, the classical piece “Te Deum Laudamus” for orchestra and choir and “Frammenti di sonata” for solo violin and small ensemble.

This score was only partially issued on vinyl in 1979, and subsequently only on CD; for the first time, then, it’s here released on clear red vinyl in an extended version, including a 30x30cm insert. Liner notes and audio remastered by Claudio Fuiano.

The romantic side of Maestro Morricone contrasts the dramatic side of Thriller and Crime genre where dissonances always dominate. For TIE ME UP! (1989) Morricone composed a delicate love theme for his one and only collaboration with the great Spanish film director Pedro Almodovar. For FOR Love (1976) he created a motif for piano and orchestra as a back- ground to a love triangle. The first sexual experiences of a teenager with older women at the end of the war in Disobedi- Ence (1981) are accompanied by piano, strings and oboe. “Desperate love theme” from Making Love (2000) is a very nostalgic classic tune for violin and orchestra. “Per le antica scale (Preludio)” from Down THE Ancient Stairs (1975) is a captivating, slow and sensual, love tune for piano and orchestra with a predominant flute solo. “Beata and Joe” from THE Star Maker (1995) a sentimental theme for the two protagonists performed by an orchestra with the intervention of a classical guitar in the second part. The crystal voice of soprano Edda Dell’Orso appears very frequently in Ennio Mor- ricone’s soundtracks as in the case of THE Good Thief (1980), THE Master AND Margarita (1972), What Have YOU Done TO Solange? (1972), Orient Express (1979).

In his long and successful career Ennio Morricone composed many dance songs as it was in fashion in the late sixties and early seventies. Themes that were usually not directly connected with the subjects of the soundtrack, but which were played in disco clubs, on jukeboxes, turntables and on the radio. This collection contains a selection of very cool pieces such as the brilliant main theme from Grand Slam (1967), the shake rock (opening credits) from Dario Argento’s classic Four Flies ON Grey Velvet (1971), the danceable from the noir film Violent City (1970), the beat version of the opening credits of “Pioggia sul tuo viso” by The Sorrows, from HOW I Learned TO Love Women (1966), “Per Vittorio (Bossa)” elegant bossa nova with flute and percussions from THE Success (1963), the tribal shake from I Cantori Moderni which winks at the Dies Irae from Garden OF Delights (1967), “Scuola di ballo al sole” a wild surf piece from THE Hawks AND THE Sparrows (1966), the supreme bossa nova from ONE Night AT Dinner (1969) with the super iconic voice of Edda Dell’Orso, the shake music of “Ostinazione al limone” from What Have YOU Done TO Solange? (1972), “Donnabossa” from Full Hearts AND Empty Pockets (1964), a delicate bossa nova with a prominent harpsichord.

The studies with Goffredo Petrassi and the association with Gruppo di Improvvisazione Nuova Consonanza let the Avant-garde playing an important role in the career of Ennio Morricone, who wrote many contemporary pieces for himself, but then the author composed soundtracks where dissonance played a major role. For the Italian edition of the film Space: 1999 (1975), the cult British TV series, he composed a very neurotic Jazz with muted horns. Also for the science-fiction film THE Humanoid (1979) Ennio Morricone created hallucinating strings scores mixed with electronic effects. For Sacco E Vanzetti (1971) an electronic score by Walter Bianchi evokes all the drama of the undeserved death sentence of the two protagonists. Experimental music of great impact in the film and off the screen for famous thrillers such as THE Death Dealer (1974), Short Night OF Glass Dolls (1971). Avant-garde music has always been present in Elio Petri’s films set to music by Morricone such as Property IS NO Longer A Theft (1973). Avant-garde music in the noir cinema of Violent City (1970) and A Pure Formal- ITY (1994) and in auteur films such as Garden OF Delights (1967) and Sarah’s Last MAN (1972).

Ennio Morricone is known throughout the world for the Italian Western genre, but most of all for his famous soundtracks for Sergio Leone’s masterpieces which have entered into popular culture on an international level, and here represented by iconic themes such as A Fistful OF Dollars (1964), FOR A FEW Dollars More (1965), Once Upon A Time IN THE

West (1968), A Fistful OF Dynamite (1971) with extraordinary soloists such as the coro dei cantori Moderni di ales- sandroni, the whistle of Alessandro Alessandroni, the harmonica of Franco De Gemini, and Edda Dell’Orso’s soprano voice. For the Westerns starring the legendary Giuliano Gemma – A Pistol FOR Ringo and THE Return OF Ringo – both directed by Duccio Tessari, he wrote the songs “Angel Face” (with lyrics by Gino Paoli) and “The Return of Ringo” respectively performed by Maurizio Graf with pop music arrangements that were popular at the time. With PistolS Don’t Argue (1964) Morricone experiments with a still undefined pre-Leone sound, Death Rides A Horse (1967) presents a main theme for guitars ostinatos, exotic flutes and choir. For Life IS Tough, EH Providence? Ennio Morricone creates a theme that mixes religious elements for a female choir with modern arrangements. And A Fist Goes West (1981) a late Western in which the composer himself interprets the Indian’s screams.

“La fine non esiste” (The End Does Not Exist) consists of 6 unreleased tracks, sung in Italian, characterized by a modern sound but still in continuity with the debut album. In fact, all the instruments that characterize Semiramis’ background are present, such as keyboards, moog, flute, acoustic and electric guitars, vibraphone, leading to wide-ranging compositions, supported by rich and lively arrangements, definitely “prog rock”. This new work, unlike “Dedicato a Frazz”, is not a concept album. In fact, the lyrics are not linked by a single narrative thread, but each song tells stories of different characters, real or imaginary. Musically the album is full of typical Semiramis melodies, in which the progressive is always pressing. Rhythmic changes and arrangements that border on hard rock are the backdrop. The band wanted to pay homage to themselves by bringing out the Semiramis trademark! “La fine non esiste” is a hymn to the ability to go beyond, to overcome the boundaries of what is considered possible, normal, right. A spark, brilliant and crazy at the same time, which allows the individual to take a step forward, however small or large. A step that increases collective awareness, useful for tackling the radical changes of a frenetic society. Overcoming boundaries involves a sacrifice, a renunciation, an effort that can only be conceived by those who really look within themselves, illuminating the thousand universes (mille universi) that dwell within each of us.

“Un Biglietto del Tram” is a unique record, a true masterpiece of Italian music in general, originally released in a literally ‘burning year’ 1975 in the history of the country.

There has probably never been and never will be another ensemble like Stormy Six, capable of gaining success with music that is not easy to assimilate and lyrics dense with political and social content. Thanks to near-perfect folk-prog melodies and arrangements, “Un Biglietto del Tram” still sounds fresh and relevant today; the opening “Stalingrado”, a true anthem against the defeated Nazi-fascist dictatorship at the end of World War II, still sends shivers down the spine today, but overall all nine tracks on the album are really excellent.

Clear yellow vinyl edition.
