In early 2007, Circa Survive recorded their magical album On Letting Go with producer Brian McTernan (thrice, Strike Anywhere, HOT Water Music) at his Salad Days Studios in Baltimore, MD. The beautiful recording presented Circa Survive in a brand-new light. It showed a band that had become more comfortable with themselves, a band that had developed naturally, and a band with endless confidence.

Circa Survive is Anthony Green of Saosin and Colin Frangicetto and Brendan Ekstrom of This DAY Forward. Juturna is a mind-bending amalgamation of influences ranging from prog-rock to art-metal; it reflects both the diverse backgrounds and the common bonds of the five unique individuals who make up Circa Survive. Marked by intricate arrangements and the pristine production of Brian McTernan (thrice, Bane, Cave IN), the music displays a band-wide chemistry that radiates from every track. It also boasts a stunning lead single in the epic “Act Appalled,” along with such emotionally weighty songs as “Holding Someone’s Hair Back” and “Stop The Fucking Car,” both of which match the visceral qualities of their titles with their content.

This LP features two EPs in one package: the new EP By Your Side on side A and the 2023 EP Still... Against All Odds on side B. Following on from last year’s Still... Against All Odds EP comes a collection of four re-recorded songs from Against All Odds and one from an earlier EP Turning The Tide. By Your Side demonstrates exactly how the band have grown and evolved as musicians. Its six songs are fueled by the same fiery intensity of their youth, but they’re imbued and inspired by an outlook, worldview, and wisdom that only comes with age and time. At the same time, however, the band’s hopeful ideology remains just as it ever was.

Originally released in 1994, Equal Vision Records has re-pressed Songs Of Separation to mark the 30th anniversary of the second album from ‘90s hardcore group 108. Formed in 1991 by guitarist Vic DiCara after his time in Inside OUT, 108 incorporated its members’ Hare Krishna beliefs into its music, similar to bands like Cro-mags.

For more than two decades, Anberlin has remained a formidable force in the alt-rock world, boasting a wildly devoted fanbase who’ve come to rely on the raw, cathartic power of their music. On the massively anticipated Vega—the first album in ten years from vocalist Stephen Christian, guitarists Joseph Milligan and Christian McAlhaney, bassist Deon Rexroat, and drummer Nathan Young—the Florida-bred band delivers a body of work forged with an explosive, new energy, thanks in part to the addition of singer Matty Mullins (the Memphis MAY Fire frontman who’s stepped in as live vocalist for Anberlin, following Christian’s announcement that he’ll no longer tour fulltime). The latest triumph in an extraordinary career that’s included selling over 1.5 million albums in the U.S. alone and turning out hits like the No. 1 Alternative Radio smash “Feel Good Drag,” Vega reveals a band whose creative passion and one-of-a-kind vision have only grown stronger over time. Arriving on the heels of two back-to-back EPs— 2022’s Silverline and 2023’s Convinced—Vega emerged from a period of unbridled creativity for Anberlin, who parted ways soon after 2014’s Lowborn and reunited for a series of lockdown-era livestreams. In bringing their new album to life, the band embraced a deliberately free-flowing and DIY approach, building up songs in McAlhaney’s garage before self-producing the LP at Tampa’s Feral Sound Studios. “In the past we’d sometimes limit our sound to some preconceived idea of what Anberlin is supposed to be,” says McAlhaney. “This time the mantra was, ‘If it feels good, let’s try it.’ Because at the end of the day, Anberlin is whatever we say it is.” As a result, Vega encompasses everything from the shout-along-ready pop perfection of “Walk Alone” to the brutally heavy intensity of “Seven” (a shapeshifting and strangely enthralling epic featuring a savage vocal performance from Mullins). “I think after spending time apart we came back with a new perspective, where we were all just excited to work together and create the best songs we can,” says Young. “No one was precious about their ideas; it was all about making something that feels new and risky and like nothing we’ve ever done before.” As they get set to embark on the “20 Years Of Tears” amphitheater tour with Thursday, Hawthorne Heights, and SAOSIN—a 56- date run that marks their most extensive tour in a decade—Anberlin looks forward to the pure thrill of performing their new material for their longtime legion of fans. “We’ve had so many people tell us things like, ‘Your songs got me through a really difficult time in my life,’ or ‘You guys are what made me pick up a guitar and start my own band,’” says Rexroat. “It’s an incredible feeling to know that we’ve impacted other people on that level—the amount of love we’ve felt is undeniable, and it’s one of the main reasons we’ve kept going for as long we have.”

Silent Drive is a group of individuals whose musical history has been long in the making. Boasting members of Bane and Drowningman, Silent Drive’s personnel have been performing and writing within the independent music scene for close to 20 years. Though this four-piece has deep roots in the hardcore/metal scene, it is branching out far beyond the constraints of any genre. The recipe is strict: anything goes, as long as it rocks. “There is no melody too sweet and no riff too heavy for us...as long as it says what we want it to say, we have no boundaries,” comments bassist Pete Chilton. Musicians, first and foremost, any category they are put in will be superseded and canceled out by the fact they are fearless musicians who live for the song and for the process of bringing it to anyone who may enjoy it.

After taking the music world by storm with Second Stage Turbine Blade and following up with the epic In Keeping Secrets Of Silent Earth: 3, Coheed AND Cambria had shown that being different in sound to their counterparts is what set them apart. This reissue gives fans a never-before-heard glimpse into the mind of Coheed AND Cambria and a second chance for those who never heard this classic album that started it all.

Dream To Make Believe is the debut album by the American rock band Armor FOR Sleep, originally released in 2003. With its emo, post-hardcore stylings, the album merges introspective lyrics with complex, layered instrumentals. The narrative arc, revolving around dreams, sleep, and reality, exhibits a thematic cohesion, making it a significant contribution to the mid-2000s emo scene. Standout tracks include the title song “Dream To Make Believe” and “My Town.”

2004’s Art Damage was the second album from Denver, Colorado’s Fear Before THE March OF Flames and featured a more straight-forward, significantly harder style than their 2003 debut album, Odd How People Shake. The video for the single “Should Have Stayed In The Shallows” was filmed in the same basement as the one used in the film Fight Club and was heavily rotated on MTV2’s show Headbanger’s Ball.

The phenomenal debut full-length from these (at the time) high-school-aged New Jersey kids. Fast, catchy, poppy hardcore/punk with some emotional overtones.

The 20th anniversary pressing of BANE’s seminal, 2001 release Give Blood featuring updated artwork in a gatefold jacket with a 10-page booklet full of photos and notes from the band.

2020 release, the debut album from Be Well. The band is fronted by prolific record producer Brian McTernan (Turnstile, Thrice, Hot Water Music), and includes guitarists Mike Schleibaum (Darkest Hour) and Peter Tsouras (Fairweather), bassist Aaron Dalbec (Bane), and drummer Shane Johnson (Fairweather). The Weight and The Cost marks McTernan's unexpected, but welcomed return to the other side of the glass.

One of the quintessential underground bands of the early millennium, Coliseum was founded in 2003 by singer, guitarist, and primary songwriter Ryan Patterson. After releasing their debut album in 2004, Coliseum blazed an unrelenting trail of scorched earth across the globe playing just shy of 1000 shows and releasing five full-length albums. Coliseum went on indefinite hiatus in late 2015 not long after releasing their fifth album, Anxiety's Kiss.

American Nightmare’s Background Music album was originally released by Equal Vision Records on June 12th, 2001. Produced by Tim Cossar and Dean Baltulonis, Background Music is anything but what the title implies, standing the test of time as a true hardcore classic. From the machine-gun like snare roll of opener “(We Are)” into Wes’ cry of “This is the soundtrack to saying goodbye…,” the atmosphere around American Nightmare is emotionally electric. Setting a tone that resonates in anthemic songs like “AM/PM,” “Hearts,” and “Your Arsonist,”these, and the rest of the songs on the album, blend a youthful violence and vulnerability into something rabid, hopelessly romantic, and refreshingly real. All qualities that, after almost 20 years, Background Music continues to resonate loudly with every listen.

Back in 2020, at the start of the pandemic and at the start of our collective lockdown, I made it my mission to finish writing a concept album that I had the idea for many years but was never able to bring to life. 'The Rain Museum' was initially a short story I wrote many years ago about a post-apocalyptic Earth and a mysterious museum in the middle of the desert. Weaving the story into an album was going to be my quarantine project. Unfortunately, my marriage of nearly eight years and basically my entire life fell apart as I was beginning the writing process. The one thing I had in my life to divert my attention from what I was going through was the creative process of writing that album... so I decided to push through and keep working on the record... but something weird happened. Because I couldn't ignore what I was going through personally, I wound up writing myself and what I was going through into the story of the album and into the world I had been creating for this concept record. In the end, it's an album about facing some of the most painful parts of being human and how lost we can get. I just hope it will speak to people going through their own dark times, as my favorite art certainly helped me get through mine."

Bitter Branches is essentially everything one could hope for from a band fronted by living legend Tim Singer (Deadguy*, Kiss It Goodbye, No Escape) and backed by a murderer's row of underground players - guitarists Matt Ryan (Calvary) and Kevin Sommerville (Lighten Up!), bassist Brian Kantorek (Go! For The Throat, The Curse), drummer Jeff Tirabassi (Walleye). Which is to say, the vibe is something like the best, most liberated eras of Rollins Band cross-pollinated with that quickly-coming-unhinged Kiss it Goodbye attack and noisy punk drive. Unleashed is a good word. Vitriolic catharsis en route (hopefully!) positive evolution.

Recorded at Black Bear Studios in Gainesville, FL, Feel The Void marks the return of producer Brian McTernan, who worked with the band on 2001's A Flight And A Crash, 2002's Caution and 2004's The New What Next, often thought of as Hot Water Music's classic period. From the moment the dark, portentous intensity of "Another Breath" kicks the record off, it's clear that this is a band at the peak of their powers. McTernan's involvement was incredibly instrumental in channeling that spirit and energy - the intense urgency of "Killing Time, "Newtown Scraper" and "Scratch On," the nervous but positive emotional energy of "Hearts Stay Full" and the title track, the soaring chorus of "The Weeds," the surging, powerful roar of closer "Lock Up."

I THE MIGHTY’s highly anticipated sophomore album, Connector, was recorded with acclaimed producer Mike Green, the man behind such hit albums as Pierce THE VEIL’s Selfish Machines and ALL Time LOW’s Don’t Panic. We’re Down Til We’re Underground was originally released by Equal Vision Records on September 23rd, 2003. At the time of original release, American Nightmare was legally forced to change their name, and Give UP THE Ghost was chosen. Produced by Jim Siegel (blood FOR Blood, Slapshot) and Tim Cossar, We’re Down Til’ We’re Underground is true milestone of an album. It encapsulates the personal growth, strife, and struggle of the band members that helped to create it. From the first strummed notes of opening instrumental “(It’s Sometimes Like It Never Started)” the album feels personal and thematic. In many ways, it is as if we are listening to the beat of the open heart of the creators. Because of this, it’s difficult to pinpoint any high point in the music and lyrical content. Every song on We’re Down Til’ We’re Underground effortlessly carries intense emotional weight in all its layers. After all, it’s an album born out of pressure and pain more so than most hardcore records (past or present) will likely ever be.

In 1999, Saves THE DAY came roaring back up the Jersey Turnpike with their second full-length. The five youngsters spent a lot of time on the road and in their home studio and consequently, refined and perfected their sound. With the help of Trax East’s Steve Evetts, they recorded 12 of the most poignant, singalong-inspiring songs ever made.

Philadelphia’s Kaonashi wants to create change. The quartet—Peter Rono (vocals), Ryan Paolilli (drums), Ryne Jones (bass), and Alex Hallquist (guitar/vocals)—aspire to generate compassion, understanding, and empathy through art. They understand that music is and has always been a force for bringing people together. They’ve made it their mission to leverage the platform that music provides to change the world around them for the better. “These songs make up a fictional story but it’s rooted in our personal experiences,” Rono explains. “We are starting from the ending and moving to the beginning. On the 2021 LP Dear Lemon House, You Ruined Me: Senior Year, it’s about Jamie and it’s the tragedy that happens on graduation day. The last release, 2024’s The 3 Faces of Beauty: A Violent Misinterpretation Of Morgan Montgomery, is about Morgan and their junior year. And this album is about Casey and reveals more about how we ended up at this tragedy.” While the songs draw from the members’ personal experiences, Kaonashi are simultaneously able to construct a parallel universe with their music to get lost inside that’s as cathartic for the band as it is for their fans. “There’s a lot of unfortunate stories to get inspiration from and this really is a tragedy, but it’s therapy for me getting it out in these songs,” he continues.

Lead singer Ben Jorgensen shares: “We are very excited to include some previously unreleased B-sides on the deluxe, 15-year anniversary vinyl pressing of What To Do When You Are Dead. The B-sides we chose to include were demos written and recorded around the same time as the album that we never got to formally polish and fully produce for one reason or another. After a certain amount of time we shelved the songs from this particular era in our history, but over the years we’ve listened back to some of them and thought that one day it would be cool to share them with the people who were fans of the album. We think these extra songs might share some of the same DNA as the songs on the album itself, and we hope they might evoke a similar sense of nostalgia in listeners who might be listening back to the album. We also chose to include some early demos of songs that we wound up re-recording for our first two albums for any of our fans who are interested in rough/early recordings.”

to be tortured in order to create. Instead,

(drums)—looked beyond the viscerally
emotional to the more spiritual and even
enlisted the help of ICE NINE KILLS’
