BED is a new band founded in Berlin, at its core, a queer musical project with a sound rooted in shoegaze, dream pop and postpunk. Their lyrics are sad and sexual, weaving together threads of both vulnerability and desire, producing a body of work that challenges normative creative expression. This is exemplified in the vocalizations, which are intentionallygender ambiguous, representing a fluid identity throughout the album. There is a coming-of-age quality to BEDscompositions, a sense of reaching a certain age in life, losing a second virginity across their musical practice, the regaining of innocence and the caring of the wounds of adulthood. There are also narrative aspects that catch the listener, interludes that whisper a secret which gives depth to the storyline of the record - a delicate and yet rough, noisy and still dramatic output that belongs to a sensitive audience, someonelooking for deep-felt tunes and autobiographical confessions, paired with post-produced vocals and punchy electronic beats.

Welcome to Motel Reno, situated on a purgato-rial stretch of the Highway to Hell, where the amenities include cable TV, a door mat for dust-ing off your cowboy boots, running water that works most of the time, a bed with a pillow and a couple of blankets with mysterious stains - well, okay, so not much, but enough to launch a series of dreams both good and bad_ Oska Wald, frontman of Berlin garagesters Chuckamuck, here on his solo outing. Motel Reno gives old-fashioned lo-fi neo-folk craftsmanship, reminding us that the art of songwriting might have yet another day to live. And perhaps that's all we can really ask for, in these troubled times, which Wald gets to the very bottom of, only to come back up to the surface with the hope and irony we need to breathe. Locust, the new solo album from Jeff Clarke (The Black Lips/Demon's Claws)- a stripped-down, melancholic change of pace from the Canadian singer-songwriter. Clarke's sincere, poetic texts are accompanied only by his acoustic guitar. Clarke, connu dans la scène garage pour son écriture marquante au sein des légendaires Demon's Claws, Hellshovel et les Black Lips, a opté pour un changement de style au cours de l'été '22 : ses textes poétiques et intimistes sont uniquement accompagnés de sa guitare acoustique. Le son folk chaud, dynamique et transparent est mis en scène par des enregistrements hors du commun - ces derniers ayant été réalisés en une seule session en plein air dans une forêt près de Berlin - ville d'adoption de Clarke depuis 2016. Somehow Beatles seems to have become more a term than a band very early on: a feeling, a colour, a time, a phase, a way, signs. That's why the new album by the band Chuckamuck is called "beatles" and not "The Beatles" even if the band keeps on appearing over and over. The three Berliners seem to have gotten into their fourth studio album piece by piece, until the title became inevitable.
