Finally, fifty years after the release of the film in Italian cinemas, Alberto Baldan Bembo's music score for ''Nuda per Satana'' is released for the very first time on vinyl and taken from the mono master tapes of the original session kept in the archives of Edizioni Musicali S.A.A.R. Fifteen tracks were selected with a total duration of approximately 37:35. Maestro Baldan Bembo created an electronic soundtrack introduced by the opening credits theme (a1) with the intervention of diabolical female voices. The atmosphere of terror is represented by suspended synthesized sounds (A2, A3), sometimes more aggressive with piano and percussion (A4, A8, B3) and by macabre themes with female voices (A6, B6). This OST also contains more tonal moments, with a danceable flavor (A5, A7, B1, B2, B5) that break the tension of the story. A record that wants to pay homage to the musical art of Alberto Baldan Bembo and genre Cinema with many fans around the world. ''Nuda per Satana'' is a horror film directed in 1974 by Luigi Batzella, screenplay by Luigi Batzella, photography by Antonio Maccoppi, editing by Luigi Batzella, music by Alberto Baldan Bembo, starring Rita Calderoni, James Harris, Renato Lupi, Iolanda Mascitti, Barbara Lay, Luigi Antonio Guerra, Augusto Boscardini, Alfredo Pasti, Stelio Candelli, CRC production, General distribution. The protagonist Rita Calderoni said in an interview that the director Luigi Batzella had chosen her for the film after having seen her in the film ''Riti, magie nere e segrete orge nel Trecento'' by Renato Polselli. From a database it appears that filming of ''Nude for Satan'' began on March 25, 1974 and was carried out at the Monte San Giovanni Campano Castle in Frosinone, Lazio, lasting approximately five weeks. The car crash sequence took the director an entire night of filming. ''Nuda per Satana'' was released in Italy on 23 October 1974. “Codice d’amore orientale” is a 1974 film directed by Piero Vivarelli, also author of the song “24.000 baci”, made famous by Adriano Celentano and by his own record label. As the director himself said in an interview, «it is a film freely inspired by the Kama Sutra and all of its philosophy».

The story is that of two young people in love but hindered by their parents, who have already arranged their marriages. The two escape and find themselves in a forest temple, where the high priest initiates them, together with other couples, into the art of amorous pleasure. The film was largely shot in Laos, Thailand and India, except for some scenes that were filmed in Italy, inside the Sammezzano Castle.

The soundtrack was composed by Alberto Baldan Bembo under the pseudonym of ‘Blue Marvin Orchestra’. The album containing the soundtrack of the film was released by Joker, a sub label of Saar Records, for the first time in 1974 on vinyl, a highly sought-after collectors’ item here reissued by Saar and including an unreleased long version of the track “Nude Love”, found in the record label’s archives and recovered from the original analog tapes.

This album contains nine songs of Italian and orchestral pop with oriental influences; the most appreciated tracks are “Kamasutra” (sampled by Stereo MC’s for their 2001 hit “Running”), “Narai and Lakshmi”, “Sawadi” and the already mentioned “Nude Love”.

Saar Records is reissuing, in a limited edition and under its famous label Stella, thanks to the collaboration with Sonor Music Editions for the remastering, the long-playing “A Trip Around The World”, much sought after by vinyl collectors.

The album was recorded and produced in Pero (Milan, Italy), with the famous Italian composer, director, arranger and multi-instrumentalist Alessandro Alessandroni and was first published in 1973.

« Lush Life » (1958) is among John Coltrane’s best endeavors on the Prestige (and Music) label.

One reason can easily be attributed to the interesting personnel and the subsequent lack of a keyboard player for the August 16, 1957 session that yielded the majority of the material.

Coltrane (tenor sax) had to essentially lead the compact trio of himself, Earl May (bass) and Art Taylor (drums). The intimate setting is perfect for ballads such as the opener ‘Like Someone in Love ».

John Coltrane doesn’t have to supplement the frequent redundancy inherent in pianists, so he has plenty of room to express himself through simple and ornate passages. Unifying the slippery syncopation and slightly Eastern feel of « I Love You » is the tenor’s prevalent capacity for flawless, if not downright inspired on-the-spot « head » arrangements that emerge singular and clear, never sounding preconceived. Even at an accelerated pace, the rhythm section ably prods the backbeat without interfering. A careful comparison will reveal that « Trane’s Slow Blues » is actually a fairly évident derivation (or possibly a different take) of « Slowtrane ». But don’t let the title fool you as the mid-tempo blues is undergirded by a lightheartedness.

May provides a platform for Coltrane’s even keeled runs before the tenor drops out, allowing both Earl May and then Art Taylor a chance to shine. The fun cat-and-mouse-like antics continue as Taylor can be heard encouraging the tenor player to raise the stakes and the tempo – which he does to great effect.

Cookin’ is the first of four albums derived from the Miles Davis Quintet’s fabled extended recording session on Octobre 26, 1956; the concept being that the band would document its vast live-performance catalog in a studio environment, rather than preparing all new tracks for its upcoming long-player. The bounty of material in the band’s live sets– as well as the overwhelming conviction in the quintet’s studio sides– would produce the lion’s share of the Cookin’, Relaxin’, Workin’ and Steamin’ albums. As these recordings demonstrate, there is an undeniable telepathic cohesion that allows this band– consisting of Miles Davis (trumpet), John Coltrane (tenor saxophone), Red Garland (piano), Paul Chambers (bass) and Philly Joe Jones (drums)– to work so efficiently both on the stage and the studio. This same unifying force is also undoubtedly responsible for the extrasensory dimensions scattered throughout these recordings. The immediate yet somewhat understated ability of each musician to react with ingenuity and precision is expressed in the consistency and singularity of each solo as it is maintained from one musician to the next without the slightest deviation. « Blues by Five » reveals the exceptional symmetry between Davis and Coltrane that allows them to complete each others’ thoughts musically. Cookin’ features the pairing of « Tune Up / When the Lights Are Low » which is, without a doubt, a highlight no only of this mammoth session, but also the entire tenure of Miles Davis mid-‘50’s quintet. All the éléments converge upon this fundamentally swinging medley. Davis’s pure-toned soloes and the conversational banter that occurs with Coltrane, and later Garland during « When the Lights Are Low », resound as some of these musicians’ finest moments.

Franco Cerri is considered by many the best Italian guitarist and one of the best guitarists and 'music stylists' that European jazz has ever produced. He began his long and prolific career in 1945 with Gorni Kramer and in 1949 he accompanied Django Reinhardt. In the '50s he collaborated with great jazz masters. Working with musicians from Chet Baker to Gerry Mulligan, and from Billie Holiday to Lee Konitz, and in modern jazz quartet or quintet, with musicians such as Tullio De Piscopo, Pino Presti, Gianluigi Trovesi, Flavio Ambrosetti and Jean-Luc Ponty, made Franco Cerri a leader in the Italian and European jazz world.

Saar Records, through its famous Music subsidiary, re-releases the second Chet Baker's LP, recorded with his sextet and quartet and originally released in March 1960; one of the rare occasions for our musicians to team together with an American trumpet player for a rather long period.

Chet Baker is one of the most important and essential characters of modern jazz and over the years he has not lost his strength and colour, a fact that's clearly demonstrated by this release, indeed showing us a quite different Chet Baker. His style has become less slender, more excited, more precise, more violent, and several tracks of this record prove it.

The musicians here accompanying Chet Baker are the very best the Italian jazz scene of the time could offer: Glauco Masetti on alto sax, Gianni Basso on tenor sax, Renato Sellani on piano, Franco Cerri on double bass, together with the Italian-American Gene Victory on drums. As usual in such situations, arrangements were entrusted to Giulio Libano, who wisely provided the musicians with ample space for their solos. Chet Baker is undoubtedly the protagonist, but a lot of freedom of expression is granted to his fellow adventurers.

The album was recorded on 25 and 26 September and on 6 October 1959 at the Guertler Bros studio.

This is tenor saxophonist Hank Mobley’s first release on the Prestige label, after one previous Blue Note release. Here he is joined by Donald Byrd (trumpet), Barry Harris (piano), Doug Watkins (bass) and Art Taylor (drum) with a guest appearance from Jackie McLean (alto saxophone) on one track.

As one might expected, the program is quite « beboppy », with the band running through bop standards like Bud Powell « Bouncing with Bud », Monk’s « 52nd Street » and Parker’s « Au Privave ».

Mobley’s supremely confident solos are highlights of these tracks and he swings through the rather plain arrangements of « Bouncing with Bud » and « Au Privave » , with exceptional phrasing and melodic finesse, through Byrd’s and Harris’s solos as satisfying as well.

« 52nd Street » is taken at a very quick tempo and has a short horn interlude between the solos.

It’s a small detail but it’s enough to elevate the piece beyond being just a blowing tune. Donald Byrd seems to struggle a little with the tempo, but Mobley and Harris excel. Jackie McLean takes a nice guest solo on « Au Privave » through for the first half of his solo a recording malfunction gives his sax an odd, muted sound.

Byrd sits out for a lovely ballad version of Rodgers’ and Hart’s « Little Girl Blue ». Mobley’s affecting read of the melody manages to recall the sentimentality of the old tenor ballad masters, while maintaining his own tone and distinctive melodic flair. Two Mobley’s originals round out the record with more bebop attitude. « Minor Disturbance » has a catchy melody and somewhat interesting changes but « Alternating Current » has no written melody and instead jumps right into solos and trading from the band.
