Born in Ireland, she showed an insatiable passion for music from a young age. She began her music career in the early 1990s as the lead singer of the trip-hop duo Moloko. The duo released four albums together, including the hit albums Do You Like My Tight Sweater? (1997) and Things to Make and Do (1999). Moloko disbanded in 2003, and Murphy began her solo career. Even before the rise of Moloko, Murphy stood out for her avant-garde fashion sense and outspoken attitude as a true original. Her creative vision extended beyond music, as she designed and tailored her own eccentric outfits and became a style icon in alternative circles. Murphy was also a member of the art collective Phat Planet, which was known for its subversive and satirical view of fashion and pop culture. Róisín Machine was a critical and commercial success, reaching #2 in the UK album charts. Róisín Murphy is a critically acclaimed and commercially successful electronic music artist. The album Hit Parade lives up to its name. The record was released in 2023 on the renowned London indie label Ninja Tune and was produced by German producer DJ Koze. HHV had the honour of having 400 pink vinyls pressed exclusively, so get cracking.
