NIFELHEIM’s self-titled debut from 1995 has rightfully garnered the band much praise in the underground. Spawned at a time when myriads of bands were hopping on the bandwagon of nice black metal with cheesy keyboards and female vocals, this slab of abrasive old-school metal felt like a much-needed bold Fuck you.Aptly titled songs like “Black curse”, “Sodomizer” or “Satanic Sacrifice” relentlessly grab for the throat. NIFELHEIM’s amalgam of pummeling riffs occassionally interspersed with wailing solos, the vocalist`s demented shrieks resembling a rabid animal and the barbarous pounding drums make for one hell of a timeless debut. Now, after almost 30 years since this mean masterpiece was initially brought forth from the bowels of hell it sees its long-overdue re-releases on vinyl.A very in-depth interview with Tyrant and Hellbutcher highlighting the early days of the band until their last opus “Envoy Of Lucifer“ was also conducted for these reissues. You can read parts of this interview in the corresponding releases as well you will find many unseen pictures and material from the band in the large booklets for every title. The LP comes with a 12-page 12” booklet including the interview and many never before-seen pictures. A double-sided A2 poster will be added to every vinyl too. Side Armageddon:1. The Devastation2. Black Curse3. Unholy Death4. Possessed By EvilSide Blasphemy:1. Sodomizer2. Satanic Sacrifice3. Storm Of Satans Fire4. Witchfuck

Inspired by hatred and some of the vilest and darkest Metal of the 80s, Sweden's most demented twins, Hellbutcher and Tyrant, came up with their only demo Unholy Death, spawned in hell in 1993.Although the tracks immortalized on this demo are poorly recorded and rather amateurishly performed they already and unmistakably bear some of the trademarks the band would come to be worshipped for. Hellbutcher's insane, utterly possessed screams and their songwriting talent and sense for melody turn the demo into a must-have not only for loyal worshippers of the band but for anyone into early SODOM, early BATHORY or TREBLINKA.Especially for this compilation, NIFELHEIM unearthed several gems from their archive which turn this release into something truly extraordinary: On top of the 4 songs from the demo-tape this compilation features 4 other original songs, 2 intros and 2 covers (MOTÖRHEAD and BATHORY) from the same recording-session. In total, Unholy Death consists of 12 titles with a running time of almost 40 minutes. The tracks were remixed from the original master tapes by Hellbutcher in 2024 and mastered by Patrick W. Engel at Temple Of Disharmony in February 2024. Side Unholy:1. Intro (1993)2. Black Curse (Unholy Death demo 1993)3. Unholy Death (Unholy Death demo 1993)4. Satanic Sacrifice (Unholy Death demo 1993)5. Dawn Of The Dark Millenium (Unholy Death demo 1993)6. Witchfuck (unreleased demo 1993)Side Death:1. Sodomizer (unreleased demo 1993)2. Possessed By Evil (unreleased demo 1993)3. The Devastation (Demo 1993 / released on the Unholy Death EP)4. Fuck Off (1991)5. Mean Machine (MOTÖRHEAD / recorded late 1992)6. Reaper (BATHORY / recorded 1993)

Formed in 1990 in Gothenburg Sweden by twin brothers Per (‘Hellbutcher’) and Erik (‘Tyrant’) Gustafsson, early incarnations of the band featured Jon Nödtveidt and John Zwetsloot of Dissection in their ranks, and in total the band recorded four full length albums and several EP’s until recently splitting up,and splintering into two new acts finally laying Nifelheim to rest. Nifelheim found mainstream exposure and were dubbed ‘Bröderna hårdrock’ (‘Heavy Metal Brothers’) in 1998 when Tyrant and Hellbutcher were featured in a Swedish TV documentary detailing their superfan obsession with Iron Maiden.

After having caused a great stir with their self-titled debut, on Devil’s Force from 1998 the Swedish savages don’t stray one inch from their path.NIFELHEIM’s second full-length picks up the smouldering rubble from the debut and takes their unmistakable style up a notch. Aided by a slightly fuller but still gritty production, the album is a bludgeoning beast of dirty metal infused with lethal doses of satanic insanity. Filled to the brim with memorable songs Devil’s Force is yet again an outright success and an indispensable underground-classic.A very in-depth interview with Tyrant and Hellbutcher highlighting the early days of the band until their last opus ”Envoy Of Lucifer“ was also conducted for these reissues. After three highly acclaimed albums Envoy Of Lucifer represents the fourth and last full-length of NIFELHEIM.Originally released in 2007, the album is certainly the most professional out of the bunch. Benefitting from a rather clean all-analogue production and many years as musicians under their belts the record, most notably, surprises with intricate arrangements, proficient guitar solos and the introduction of new elements to NIFELHEIM`s sound.Hellbutcher's and Tyrant's lifelong worship of IRON MAIDEN has never been more apparent than on Envoy Of Lucifer too. Despite all this, the album is still 100% NIFELHEIM with all of their trademarks from previous releases intact. For this re-release Envoy of Lucifer has been mastered at the correct speed for the first time. Therefore the album can finally be listened to how it was originally supposed to sound.A very in-depth interview with Tyrant and Hellbutcher highlighting the early days of the band until their last opus "Envoy Of Lucifer" was also conducted for these reissues. You can read parts of this interview in the corresponding releases as well you will find many unseen pictures and material from the band in the large booklets for every title. The LP comes with a 12-page 12” booklet including the interview and many never before-seen pictures.
