8Kays delivers an inspiring label debut on Watergate Records, as the artistic project of Ukrainian sound-producer and live act Iryna Shvydka reinforces why there’s so much excitement surrounding her with the slick ‘Falling Down’ EP.
A collaborative rich EP, 8Kays links with Italian pair Glowal for the punchy ‘Matemática’, that brings plenty of eerie minor key vibes to the dancefloor thanks to the vocal contribution from Brasilian singer Abrão. ‘Falling Down’ sees 8Kays team up with the Buenos Aires-based producer and live act Juan Hansen for a captivating slice of electronic prog lit up by Hansen’s memorable vox and delicate strings. One for those special end-of-night moments.
Dutch pair Colyn & Beswerda suit up ‘Falling Down’ for a different occasion, adding a tougher backbone, while teasing out all the melodic flourishes to craft a remix that’s functional and stunning in equal doses. Man-of-the moment Chris Avantgarde then ramps up the intensity to eleven adding his own re-rub that’s everything we’ve come to love about the producer: bold, powerful and memorable. The EP ends with a terrific 8Kays solo cut, the luminescent ‘Lyra’, a dreamy arpeggio-driven gem that closes out the work beautifully.

Schwarz' original is a vocal-based house-anthem, which emerges from his musical finesse to gasp for air in form of a folk-inspired hookline. After a percussive break the record's to-the-floor efficiency is unleashed. This is where Carl Craig's remix begins. From dreamy to sawing synth-lines, he utilizes the original's massive potential - to 12 minutes.

Sasha continues to make this year his own as he drops his debut EP on Watergate, ‘GameOvr’. The EP features two original tracks, including the long-awaited ‘Trigonometry’, and first class remixes from Cassy and La Fleur. After his recent critically acclaimed sell-out live shows at the Barbican and his ‘Out Of Time’ EP on Kompakt, not to mention gearing up for his RESISTANCE residency with John Digweed in Ibiza, Sasha officially confirms his debut release on Watergate Records. ‘Trigonometry’ has been a highlight in Sasha’s sets in recent months and has sparked many a heated debate online, from excited pleas for a Track ID, to urgent demands for a release date. The track is as ethereal as it is compelling, constantly building up to the sublime break down and those iconic chords that have left ravers spellbound worldwide. Swedish born Berlin-based La Fleur puts her stamp on the remix, keeping the riff but adding gravitas with a rhythmic bassline. She’s fast become a key player on the house and techno circuit, with a string of releases on the likes of Cocoon, Watergate, and Sasha’s own Last Night On Earth imprint. ‘GameOvr’ shows the producer’s tougher side; a strong techno track in keeping with Sasha’s constant focus on the future, always exploring new directions, though his signature groove is still on board. Revered Panorama Bar resident Cassy, whose stunning album ‘Donna’ was one of 2016’s outstanding releases, turns her hand to remixing the title track, delivering a harder edged driving cut with a heavier kick drum, echoing chords and hypnotic percussion. This EP marks yet another creative landmark in this, one of the most fruitful and exciting phases in Sasha’s distinguished career.

The final sixer from ‘Watergate 28’ LP mixed by Biesmans inside 3 months, a testament to his talent and intense focus. Featuring collabs with Mathew Jonson, Mala Ika, TomTheBomb, Johannes Albert, Kid Simius and another solo cut from the Belgian producer’s 17 original tracks for W28, arguably the label’s most ambitious to date. And this EP’s a banger.

The prodigiously talented Tim Engelhardt returns to Watergate for his third EP outing. The young producer has been industrious throughout 2020; he released a new album ‘Idiosynkrasia’ on Stil Vor Talent, remixed Trentemøller and gifted Watergate another excellent EP, ‘Rooted’, among other activities. ‘Prophecy’ EP continues his touch for crafting exquisite compositions that evoke a warm cocoon-like atmosphere. The title track places his sound design skills at the fore, as tender melodic flourishes run alongside a hummed vocal line, piano and swelling pads. ‘Polygon Particles’ is an intricate acoustic jam centred around a chunky bassline, lilting synth and keys, which builds towards a feel-good finish. The evocative ‘Connected in Silence’ rounds out the trio of tracks, driven by a crisp percussive core and wistful widescreen soundscapes.

Following the exclusive heavy mix compilation that Jimi Jules knocked out for us recently, it’s time to deliver on those exclusives via two EP’s from the man himself and we kick things off with EP number one, ‘Midnight Juggernaut’ where Jules’ studio prowess is on full display with three stellar originals including a remix from the mighty Recondite.

Gorje Hewek follows up last year’s impressive ‘Life EP’, with a new 5-track package brimming with
collaborative spirit. The work also marks the Watergate label debut of the legendary Hernan
Cattaneo.
The artist is a mainstay of the All Day I Dream collective and a master of intricately woven electronic
compositions, which also transfix the dancefloor. For his return contribution to Watergate Records he brings
a string of cohorts in toe – Dulus, Polo & Molac from his excellent Shanti Records imprint, alongside ADID
affiliate Roy Rosenfeld and Argentinean great Cattaeno.
The opener ‘Altitude’ is a dreamy bass-driven heater that unfolds beautifully over an eight-minute period
and is highlighted by a key driven melody that’s both playful and emotive. ‘Astro World’ is an eclectic slice
of organic house that captivates with a string-laden break before dropping down into a rhythmic second
half. The EP’s title track is a silky sunset cut resplendent with twinkling pads that has enough groove to
seduce a dusty dancefloor. ‘Vida’ begins life as a slinky percussive jam, before the dam breaks and a
colourful river of melody drives the track home. A delight. ‘Kaleidoscope’ stays true to its name driven by a
lush chord melody that cascades throughout. A gem made for big moments.

Adana Twins return to Watergate Records with a magnificent three-tracker that begs for a summer
dancefloor (but the tracks are that good, they’ll be played for a while to come).
Since their label debut in 2017 with ‘Flower of Cane’, Adana Twins have become firm favourites of the
Oberbaumbrücke crew. From handling mix duties on ‘Watergate 25’ to holding down regular gigs at the
club prior to 2020, the Hamburg duo always deliver.
‘The Curve’ is their first release on WG since 2019’s cracking remixes of Josh Wink’s ‘Higher State of
Consciousness’. The title track is a big bouncy electro cut packed with plenty of groove. A super fun
production sure to bring a smile to your face. ‘Cyrus’ belongs in a motion picture and is epic in
composition. It traverses cyborg breaks before moving into a retro key-laden riff, all the while driven by a
powerful ‘Silence / Violence’ vocal. This was made for a big festival moment. ‘Alone’ is the emotional final.
At first propelled by an ‘80s synth and airy pads before a shimmering lead takes control and pushes the
track into celestial terrain.

Woo York - supreme electronic music duo make their debut on Watergate Records.
The Ukrainian duo have a watertight reputation for crafting stunning dancefloor compositions, having
released music on Life And Death, Soma, Dystopian, Drumcode and Afterlife, the latter home to their
critically acclaimed 2018 album ‘Chasing the Dream’. Their appearances at Watergate have been numerous
over the years, making them an obvious choice to join the label family.
Their Watergate Records debut maiden offering is sparkling. The title track begins as a chugging key-laden
cut before a stirring folky melody rises to the fore with beautiful intent. With its unique sonic signature,
‘Samum’ will stand out in any set. Woo York show a new side of their outstanding musical talent “For this
release we wanted to push boundaries of the melodic techno sound. For Samum we have worked with a
bag pipe, one of the oldest instruments to give the track an almost „housy" note.”
The accompanier is ‘Prophet’, an emotional slice of dance music, hopeful and melancholic in equal doses,
this is custom made for big dancefloor moments.
Accompanying the package are remixes of ‘Samum’ by fellow Ukrainian producer and live act 8Kays, who
turns in a dark and shimmering re-rub, not losing any of the original’s power. Meanwhile Greek artist
Echonomist crafts a rich and multi-faceted reinterpretation that fits for the club and home listening alike.

A vital collective member and resident, JAMIIE steps up for her long-awaited debut EP on Watergate Records.
The artist has been a regular at the club stretching back to 2016, when she joined RISE, the Afro House collective that
runs monthly residencies at Watergate. Despite this, JAMIIE has always gone her own way sonically, exploring deeper
house and melodic tones, alongside the Afro influences.
A constant at Oberbaumbrücke spot during the 2020/2021, she, along with Kristin Velvet were the beating hearts of the
club, hosting the Watergate Worldwide streams every week. This year has been a standout for her playing
Tomorrowland, Exit Festival and supporting Solomun at Watergate, among many other highlights.
Following up label contributions which include ‘Suwedi’, with Niko Schwind that featured on Hyenah’s ‘Watergate 27’
compilation and the fantastic ‘Echoes’ on ‘Watergate 20’ due out November 2020, we’re treated to a generous five-track
package for her maiden EP outing on Watergate Records.
Beginning life during a summer-time sketch session in bed (her favourite spot to start new creative ideas), ‘Voices’ is an
emotive weapon, driven by a captivating synth lead, and chunky Afro-infused bottom end. "’Voices’" is mysterious and is
inspired by our thoughts, our inner voice,” JAMIIE shares. “There’s something truly mysterious and remarkable about our
inner voice, the means by which we make ourselves aware of who we are and what we think and even feel. Our inner
voice is very powerful. It can lift us up and weigh us down. It also makes decisions for us, even when sometimes we
don’t want to listen to it.”
‘Unfold Me’ is a glorious end-of-night future classic, as grandiose synths rub shoulders with beautiful bass melodies,
before a delicate key interlude gives JAMIIE the opportunity to build the energy right back up again. “This has a personal
meaning and again, has to do with the journey inwards to discovered ourselves. Like many other people I am an
extroverted introvert. I think we can be quite confusing and peculiar to others. On the one hand, social and outgoing; on
the other, very guarded, selective and hard to get to know. So, it needs time to unfold the layers to understand an
extrovert introvert person, if they should let you in,” she explains.
The originals are complemented by a trio of tight remixes chosen by JAMIIE, from three artists close to her heart:
Portuguese Afro Tech producer DJEFF delivers a blissfully silky re-work of ‘Voices’; Italian artist Malandra Jr., whose
most notably released on Diynamic, crafts a chugging and cosmic reinterpretation of the title track, while Stil Vor Talent’s
Annett Gapstream sends ‘Unfold Me’ on a dreamy orbit skywards.

A generous DJ/party-friendly 6-pack from Biesmans’ brilliant, intense contribution to Watergate’s revered mix LP series, selecting from the 17-track LP collaborations with Adana Twins, Shubostar, Dusky, Kasper Bjørke & Jacob Bellens and Zombies in Miami, plus a solo from the Belgian Indie dance maestro.

Rising UK duo Mia Mendi returns for their second outing on Watergate Records with the retro-tinged Robosynapse EP. The label debut of Mia Mendi was a notable 2021 highlight for the Oberbaumbrücke imprint. Titled 'Ubi’, the EP was a collaboration with Thomas Gandey and demonstrated their full-bodied dancefloor approach, injecting their unique sound signature into a modern progressive house palette. ‘Robosynapse’ is no less exciting (or fun). The title track is a plump nu wave houser, driven by soaring retro synths, a gutsy electro bassline and an 80s guitar solo. ‘Simulated Reality’ buzzes and hums, seven minutes of emotional electro and crispy drumlines, before handing the baton to ‘Cyborg String’, which continues the dreamy throwdown. Alan Dixon makes his first contribution to Watergate Records and re-fashions ‘Robosynapse’ into a glistening cosmic-tinged beast, amplifying the focus on the guitar lead. Fresh off her label debut with the excellent ‘Mind Control’ EP, Henri Bergmann makes a welcome return to re-work ‘Simulated Reality’ into a powerful melodic gem, heightening the focus on the synths. An added bonus to the pack, Musumeci delivers a supreme chugging re-work of ‘Ubi’. Game on!

A prodigiously talented producer, DJ and live act on the rise, Joplyn’s Watergate Records debut last December was an exhilarating eleventh hour highlight of 2022. Championed by Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1, the release now gets a second life in time for summer. Adana Twins re-fashion 'Can't Get Enough' into a beast of a tune that cleverly retains the emotion of the original, while propelling it into peak-time festival territory, with a blissful build up and a bass-face inducing bottom end. A straight up fire tune. ‘Fact & Fiction’ get Jamiie’s vibe-heavy touch, taking the dreamy tones of the original and re-working them into an impact-heavy end-of-night opus.

Belgian techno don Marco Bailey lands on Watergate with a debut that’s guaranteed to intrigue as he leans into electro territory, grabbing rerubs from Extrawelt & Biesmans while he’s at it. DJ, producer and label chief, his is a storied career that spans three decades, and it’s long been evident that Marco’s enthusiasm and passion remains resolute. He closed 2021 with the release of his sixth studio album Surreal Stage, an ambitious, introspective body of work that dropped via his booming imprint Materia. His own label aside, his discography is stacked with cuts across eminent labels Second State, Arts, Bedrock Records, as well as being one of the first artists to debut on Carl Cox’s seminal Intec. While it’s techno that he’s become firmly associated with, his adeptness in the studio isn’t limited to the nuances of one genre and this is a rare opportunity to showcase a different side to his musicality. ‘The Spirit’ floods in first, almost immediately engaging listeners as it ebbs and flows with complete abandon. If the promise of electro grabbed your attention, it’s ‘From My Mind’ that delivers and sticks in your mind - from the heavy synth bassline to the soaring ascendant melody, and distorted, robotic vocals. ‘Pulse’ slaps and packs plenty of punch power as it snakes its way through with dominating, ascendant chords. German duo Extrawelt and Belgian export Biesmans step in with rerubs of ‘From My Mind’, and firmly grip some of the elements which make this electro excursion so memorable.

Since kicking off their production partnership during lockdown last year, UK duo Mia Mendi and musical polymath Thomas Gandey (aka Cagedbaby) have enjoyed a fruitful link up; a Beatport no.1 with ‘Cultum’ released on Mia Mendi’s new imprint hydera, a stunning cut on Stil Vor Talent’s Schneeweiß compilation followed by an impressive debut EP on Los Suruba’s Nazca Records titled ‘Paracas’. Now they’ve stepped up for a maiden label offering on Watergate. ‘Ubi’ is a trio of aces that reinforces why this musical union is turning all the right heads. The title track is seductive and punchy, driven by a snaking groove and an intriguing top-line melody, complimented by Gandey’s on-point vocals. ‘ Gatekeeper’ brings atmosphere in spades as an underbelly of acid and crisp rolling beats keep tempo, before the forest clears and Gandey’s yearning vox comes into focus as luscious pads swirl in the mist. ‘ Nightliner’ is the sexy closer and distinctly ‘80s in spirit, as racey synths and a plump bottom end dominate the show.

What began as a challenge to fight creative stagnation, soon grew into a fully-fledged audio-visual project for Belgian DJ, producer and live artist, Biesmans. Setting himself the goal of making three tracks per week for a month, he re-scored ‘80s pop culture moments – including films, TV shows and games, resulting in a brilliant 12-track work encompassing new wave, indie, dark wave, electro and disco. Moving his modular-heavy studio to Berlin in 2014, the ensuring years saw Joris Biesmans drop heat on Correspondent, Disco Halal, Aeon, 17 Steps and Future Disco. He’s been a core member of Watergate family since his arrival in the capital, working as the club’s sound technician. He made his debut on Watergate Records in 2020 with the well-received ‘Electric Love’ EP. The ‘Planes, Trains & Automobiles’ album took shape in April last year as the lockdown was starting to take grip and Biesmans needed a positive distraction. Ensconced in the music of his childhood and ‘80s pop cultural fodder, he locked himself in his studio and set about creating, later digging through archival footage to match the music. Biesmans, who previously undertook work scoring films, was so absorbed by the process, he’d sometimes do it in reverse; allowing the vintage media be the guide. Throughout the period, the clips were shared each Monday, Wednesday and Friday on his Instagram, building up a firm following from fans, friends and colleagues. And thus, the project found its wings, developing into an album.

Hotly tipped newcomer Yulia Niko joins the Watergate collective, delivering an exciting label debut to mark the occasion. The Russian-born, Berlin-based artist has piqued the ears of heads with quality releases on Crosstown Rebels, Get Physical and her own TochnoTechno imprint. She steps up for Watergate Records with an inspiring maiden EP, augmented by remixes from YokoO and Francesco Mami. ‘Manifesto’ is the intriguing opener, as intergalactic synths rub shoulders with a chugging groove for an ultra-cool finish. ‘Passion’ is heavy on vibes, pairing an enchanting vocal with a colourful bed of percussion. YokoO contributes a subterranean ‘Defragmentation’ remix of ‘Manifesto’ on the minimal tip, before adding some warmth to the palette teaming up with Francesco Mami for a ‘Vegas Mix’ primed for the afterhours with its deep grooves and shuffling beats. ‘Hurts So Slow’ reinforces Niko’s versatility, imbuing a dusty house vibe primed for late night sessions.

Matthias Meyer and Ryan Davis re-link for another superb outing on Watergate. If you know, you know. Matthias Meyer and Ryan Davis make sweet music together, like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie once made babes. Tunes that melt you into the floor and roll dancefloors from Tulum to Tblisi. Their debut collaboration ‚Hope‘ was a dawning highlight of 2017 and Beatport Deep House no.1, while ‚Love Letters from Sicily‘, was a lustrous late summer anthem, reinforcing their knack for the sublime. Their latest opus ‚Crying Juno / Cafuné‘ begins where its predecessors left off, taking life after Matthias and Ryan exchanged ideas back and forth over a period of months before finally settling in the former’s Holzmarkt studio in Berlin to finish giving the tracks their form.

Watergate favourites Frankey & Sandrino make a timely debut on the club’s imprint, with a classy remix by Tiefschwarz in tow. If you’ve found yourself at the Oberbaumbrücke institution on a Thursday in recent years, chances are Frankey & Sandrino were responsible for the soundtrack. The pair of Sandrino Tittel and Frank Beckers have captained the Thursdate residency since 2018, serving up a beguiling blend of deep grooves and twinkling chords progressions. The four-track ‘Nova’ EP is the embodiment of this immersive sonic palette.

Watergate favourites Gheist make their long-awaited label debut. There’s an auspicious connection between Gheist and Watergate; the Berlin four-piece played their very first live show at the club in 2017. Since this time, not only have they become tried and true favourites at the Oberbaumbrücke hotspot, but they’ve caught the ears of electronic music fans the world over, establishing themselves as one of the most promising new acts on the scene. After stellar releases on Last Night On Earth, Diynamic and their own Radau Records, ‘Zukunft’ is a fitting debut, shining with the Gheist’s trademark juxtaposition of melancholic and euphoric tones. The title arouses an immediate nostalgia courtesy of its shimmering combination of organ stabs, scattered vocal effects and smooth bass. ‘Disclose Yours’ will make the hairs on your arms stand up with its major key synth riff and stirring vocal. Completing the package is a slick dub, primed for the early hours.

After a two year break, Watergate Affairs comes strong with the third installment of the popular series, this time focusing on unearthing talent from outside the crew’s immediate circle. A superb quintuplet of cuts marks its return. Danish duo Baime contribute the glistening ‘Majka’ that entrances with a beguiling mix of cosmic synths and ethnic scales. Tel Aviv’s Kadosh returns to the label after featuring on the Adana Twins’ ‘Watergate 25’ compilation last year. His track is the seductive ‘Better Days’, a beautiful piano-led piece that stands apart thanks to the artist’s deft arrangement skills, having played the keys since he was 12. Buenos Aires born, Ibiza-based Kintar drops the evocative ‘Paradisou’, that builds with bass stabs, an exotic vocal line and swirling pads for a dancefloor-ready finish. The perky ‘Lucero Del Alma’ rounds out the pack, the label debut from Kevin Di Serna. The Argentine, who’s released quality material on Innervisions, Endless and Lost & Found crafts a hypnotic house cut primed for late night moments.

After impressing with his contribution to ‘Watergate 25’, emerging Spanish talent Upercent steps up for his first full-length EP on the label. In recent years the Valencia native has emerged with releases on labels of the ilk of Kompakt, Diynamic and the tastemaker favourite microCastle Records. We got our first taste of his talents on Watergate Records when the superb ‘La Lluita’ featured exclusively as part of ‘Watergate 25 – Adana Twins’ compilation.

As always, the return of Ruede Hagelstein is inevitable and with each return he ups the ante tenfold showcasing his ever growing prowess behind the studio door.

Embracing the tools and mechanics that have made their sound unique and successful for so long, Fur Coat seems to have delivered their most mature and polished EP to date with their ‘Immersion’ EP where stunning spacial details and a precise attention to detail have embodied the age old saying, “less is more". It's always a big moment when we welcome a new project into the Watergate catalog and this time is no exception. For our next release we would like to introduce two newcomers to the label. Both Cle and Eva Be have been at the cutting edge of house music culture for well over a decade and their work as solo artists spans an esteemed list of some of the most highly regarded imprints from Sonar Kollektiv to Poker Flat, but it was only recently the two formed LoYoTo. After a stunning debut on Marco Resmann's Upon You label,we were thrilled to release their follow up on Watergate entitled ‘Lonely Young Tourist'. Over the course of three tracks the duo traverse an array of timeless aesthetics infected with a Dub narrative they have fittingly christened "Starsprangled Dubmosphere". From the twisted, low slung vibe on ‘Sheijk' to the surging intoxication of ‘3 Balls' and the timeless fusing of classic ‘Dub' and modern perspective on ‘Feel The Bumpin', LoYoTo have constructed an exquisite ride into their sonic universe and we think you will agree. For our next vinyl release, La Fleur returns by gracing us with her signature touch on a stellar EP entitled 'Hedione' including a remix from the one and only Camea. Over the span of three tracks La Fleur takes us on a tour through the many arrays of her style, blending retro concepts into future hits.

The title track 'Hedione' kicks things off with a low slung bass line, luminous shimmers and a ghostly vocal culminating in a super slick late night ride while 'Bloomer' takes a more energetic approach with a classic acid line and spooky vocals laid over a hypnotic groove of crisp analog percussion. Rounding the EP out is 'Longevity' and it's the headiest of all three embracing nostalgic melodies that induce the cerebral moments you lose yourself and time ceases to exist. Camea steps up to remix 'Longevity' and nails it with a masterfully done revision keeping all the beauty and engagement of the original but taking it into her own trademark space designing with a heavier palette of drums resulting in a heated trek into the sublime.

The German duo come strong with a pair of remixes, fit for two very different dancefloor scenarios. The
first a smart, stripped back breakbeat version that switches from a sparse percussive soundscape to the
famous acid warbles, before introducing undulating retro trance synths to the composition for a headmelting finish. Remix Two is a driving, four-to-the-floor, rave-focused affair that builds up the 303s with
exhilarating intensity, only letting up in the final moments of the track.
The fresh interpretation follows on from Adana Twins’ super re-work of Patrice Baumel’s ‘Roar’ that
dropped on Watergate last November and reinforces the duo’s golden touch on the remix front
