The vinyl version contains twelve tracks! "Minecraft - Volume Alpha" is the work of German composer and musician Daniel Rosenfeld. Under his stage name C418, Rosenfeld created the sweeping soundtrack and vibrant sound design that brought the voxel-based universe of "Minecraft" to life. Fans and critics alike were blown away by his beatless, balanced electro pieces across the board. Popular gaming site Kotaku listed the soundtrack among its "Best Game Music" of 2011, calling the music "impressively soothing," while The Guardian compared Rosenfeld's fragile pieces of piano and minimalist ambient to legendary artists Erik Satie and Brian ENO. In an interview, Polygon distilled "Volume Alpha" down to its essence: "The soundtrack is not tied to the retro aesthetic of Minecraft graphics. The soundtrack overrides them. The album is an attempt to translate the combined game/music experience into something heavenly."

This is the Alien: Isolation Vinyl Soundtrack, a 1xLP loaded up with the very best songs from composers The Flight and Christian Henson’s famous score, pressed on Blood Green vinyl.

As C418, composer and producer Daniel Rosenfeld designs sounds to resonate in both physical and pixelated realms. Best known for his original soundtracks to Minecraft, the single best-selling video game of all time, he's developed a discography of instrumental music over the last decade that traverses electronic pop patterns, neo-classical dreamscapes, and sparse ambient motifs. The latter element has broken from the "8-bit" pigeonholing of game music and earned him accolades that reference artists like Erik Satie (The Guardian) and Brian Eno (vice). In 2015, after quietly self-releasing Minecraft Volume Alpha and Minecraft Volume Beta, Rosenfeld partnered with Ghostly International to reissue Minecraft Volume Alpha on vinyl and CD. The release garnered attention from proper music critics and the gaming community alike, becoming one of the most sought after records in the Ghostly catalog. Now, following several restocks of Alpha to fervent fan response, it is time for the soundtrack's second installment to shine. For the legion of listeners and players to, at long last, have Minecraft Volume Beta in tangible formats. Originally self-released in 2013, Minecraft Volume Beta was C418's longest batch of music to date at nearly 140 minutes. The collection features tracks that were "silently" added to Minecraft during its music updates and a few that never officially entered the game. The run time is now adapted to fit the double LP format, while digital downloads include the full set Rosenfeld's unmistakable abilities are on display; he creates a sweeping variety of musical ideas that mirror the limitless universe of Minecraft. Ghostly International is thrilled to give this unique collaboration its due treatment and hopes to see the creative inspiration which drives Minecraft and Rosenfeld continue to disperse by virtue of this unexpectedly universal music.

Halo Studios and Laced Records have teamed up to bring the iconic music of the original Halo trilogy to vinyl for the first time. This box set features 83 tracks from the first three Halo titles, specially remastered for vinyl and pressed onto eight heavyweight LPs. Outer Wilds: Echoes of the Eye is decidedly darker than its predecessor, and the accompanying musical score follows suit. Sure, the base game’s music takes an occasional turn toward the dark & mysterious, but for Echoes of the Eye, composer Andrew Prahlow slammed down on those thrusters hard. The result is a more alien and sometimes even more hostile take on the Outer Wilds audio universe, dipping into echoing choral arrangements and staccato soundscapes that remind one of the unforgiving emptiness of space. The true achievement of this score, then, is the way that it evokes all those primal fears of cosmic smallness while still maintaining an undeniably compelling beauty. Music artist POE and Sam Lake fused consciousnesses to birth four parts of the spiralling, woozy epic “This Road”; the end-of-chapter tracks for Wake’s journey through the Dark Place.

Poets of the Fall once again inhabited their roles as the Old Gods of Asgard to create prog opuses “The Poet and the Muse”, “Anger’s Remorse” and the monumental “Herald of Darkness”, with in-fiction vocals by Matthew Porretta (Alan Wake) and David Harewood (Mr. Door).

Finally, music production house Fried Music together with Nordic Music Partners gathered a small army of exceptional songwriting talent to create the eclectic, evocative, in-universe ‘Chapter Songs’.

As the Hitman development team continued to evolve the tone of the games, so too did Jesper Kyd evolve the music. Hitman: Blood Money saw Jesper write a masterful score performed by the Budapest Symphony Orchestra and Hungarian Radio Choir, adding numerous electronic elements to create a perfectly blended hybrid soundtrack.

On electronic cues — such as the deeply groovy “Vegas” — his percussive-yet-melodic signature sound shines through; while his symphonic and choral writing are highlighted on cues including “Apocalypse”, “Hunter” and “Silent Invasion”. Blood Money’s score was nominated for an MTV VMA Award and won IGN’s Best Original Score Award.

Bethesda Game Studios and Laced Records have crewed up to bring the music of Starfield to deluxe vinyl.

As any player of a Bethesda Game Studios title knows, music shapes the story and is a constant companion on one’s adventure. Composer Inon Zur’s long-running collaboration with director Todd Howard and the studio began all the way back on 2008’s Fallout 3. With the Starfield score, they sought to evoke both the vastness of space and humanity’s curiosity-driven efforts to chart the unknown. This led to Zur weaving together traditional and non-traditional orchestral and electronic palettes into an aural tapestry of the organic and the synthetic.

During development, the team circulated an eclectic range of reference points: launching off with sci-fi staples John Williams and Jerry Goldsmith; passing through a classical nebula of Debussy, Ravel, and Prokofiev; flying by Vangelis’ towering synth work; and glancing the experimental work of Einstürzende Neubauten and John Cage.

Starfield’s orchestral cues — recorded by the Budapest Film Orchestra — often see different instrumental sections invoking imaginative aspects of space. Brisk, repeated sequences in the woodwinds represent particles. Strings playing undulating chords mimic long waves of interstellar energy. The brass section becomes a beacon of melody blasting out across the galaxy. Similarly, the more electronic-driven cues maintain a sense of grandeur through weighty synth pads that underpin cryptic repeated patterns and unusual percussive jabs.

Old School RuneScape players know their IFB from their IDB. That’s why beloved RuneScape tunes have been remixed by London producer Pizza Hotline, known for making video game-flavoured Drum n Bass and Jungle with a nostalgic feeling.

The "Ghost in the Shell: game soundtrack," originally released in 1997, was a landmark collaboration between techno, anime, and gaming, taking the techno world by storm. With Takkyu Ishino overseeing sound direction and compilation, this masterpiece featured legends like Derrick May, Westbam, and Hardfloor, who helped shape techno history. Following the two-disc CD release, the much-anticipated vinyl edition is finally set for re-release! As 90s techno experiences a resurgence, this album, which has long been awaited from dance floor, will return as a picture 2LP. The double LP includes new tracks like Hardfloor’s "Spook & Spell (Fast Version)," which wasn’t featured on the original 1997 vinyl, and Derrick May's newly remastered version of "To Be or Not To Be (Off The Cuff 2024 Redefined Mix)." The picture disc features artwork of Motoko Kusanagi and Fuchikoma, further expanding the world of Ghost in the Shell through stunning visuals alongside the techno sound. The original 1997 art direction and Yamato-e illustrations were created by contemporary artist Takashi Murakami.

Bethesda Game Studios and Laced Records have crewed up to bring the music of Starfield to deluxe vinyl.

As any player of a Bethesda Game Studios title knows, music shapes the story and is a constant companion on one’s adventure. Composer Inon Zur’s long-running collaboration with director Todd Howard and the studio began all the way back on 2008’s Fallout 3. With the Starfield score, they sought to evoke both the vastness of space and humanity’s curiosity-driven efforts to chart the unknown. This led to Zur weaving together traditional and non-traditional orchestral and electronic palettes into an aural tapestry of the organic and the synthetic.

During development, the team circulated an eclectic range of reference points: launching off with sci-fi staples John Williams and Jerry Goldsmith; passing through a classical nebula of Debussy, Ravel, and Prokofiev; flying by Vangelis’ towering synth work; and glancing the experimental work of Einstürzende Neubauten and John Cage.

Starfield’s orchestral cues — recorded by the Budapest Film Orchestra — often see different instrumental sections invoking imaginative aspects of space. Brisk, repeated sequences in the woodwinds represent particles. Strings playing undulating chords mimic long waves of interstellar energy. The brass section becomes a beacon of melody blasting out across the galaxy. Similarly, the more electronic-driven cues maintain a sense of grandeur through weighty synth pads that underpin cryptic repeated patterns and unusual percussive jabs.

Oscar Rydelius — AKA Ratvader — created a mellifluous, melodic soundtrack that sounds both organically human and alien at the same time. Hypnotic musical build-ups are patiently drawn out. He took the lead from Åkerblad/El Huervo’s mesmerising art, while ensuring Ultros’ music “leaves room for the eyes.”

The score is peppered with field recordings of nature sounds from the Amazon rainforest and Peruvian instruments like whistling jars and bone flutes, giving some tracks a 1960s and ’70s New Age feeling. Classical instruments like the Cello and Flute, as well as haunting vocals, sail atop dense harmonic tapestries. For parts of the recording during the Covid pandemic, Rydelius and Åkerblad rented cabins on the Swedish island of Gotland (a notable Ingmar Bergman and Tarkovsky filming location) in order to soak up the natural vibes of that environment.

Central to the soul of the soundtrack is Cello player Björn Risberg, whose lyrical playing features prominently. Joining him were multi-flute instrumentalist Adrian Åsling Sellius, violinist Agnes Högberg and vocalist Anna-Maria Lundberg, in addition to El Huervo on multiple tracks.

The vinyl track selection focuses on the world and Sarcophagus of Ultros. Ratvader personally curated the tracklist so that listeners would spin the vinyl, lay flat on the floor, and enter the world of the game, aiming for “a pleasant and present experience.”
