Mundian To Bach Ke" is a bhangra track produced by British musician Panjabi MC, featuring vocals and lyrics by Punjabi artist Labh Janjua. Originally recorded in Birmingham, England, for Panjabi MC's 1998 album Legalised, the song gained international acclaim upon its re-release as a single in November 2002.

The track is notable for its fusion of traditional bhangra elements with contemporary hip-hop influences. It incorporates the bassline and beat from Busta Rhymes' 1997 song "Fire It Up," which itself samples the theme from the television series Knight Rider, composed by Glen A. Larson and Stu Phillips. Originally limited to a Spanish only 1978 pressing this almost genre defining song has been highly sought after by DJ’s and producers alike. Bennett’s in the pocket groove underscores a futuristic synth lead which characterises the forward looking sound of the time. Sample spotters will easily recognise the lead in synth and classic bassline which have been used many times over, including tracks by NAS, Lootpack, Benny the Butcher and Kaytranada to name a few. Dorothy Ashby, Soul Vibrations. The leading track on Ashby’s much sought after 1968 AfroHarping album is now available for the first time on 45. Part jazz, part funk with a heavy does of psych the jazz harpist’s melodic sound travels over the heavy backbeat of the drums and an overlay of flutes providing a pulsive rhythmic structure. 2024 was a big year for Regulate Recordings and their sister club night “Shake Your Rump”. DJ Deviant’s “The Rhythm” & “Make Em Bounce” burned up dance floors in spring, “Summer Jam” saw Atomphunk & Deviant team up with Seattle MCs Mugs and Pockets to devastating effect. “Summer Jam” lit up the second half of the year with support from the Allergies, Boca45 and 6 Music and was included in Craig Charles’s “Funkiest Tracks of 2024”. Regulate move into the new year by setting off two certified bangers. Master of the decks DJ Deviant is back on production duties; lead track “Get On The Floor” sees him once again collaborating with Swamburger (Mugs and Pockets) for a full force party starter. The production pulls influences from the earliest days when hip hop and disco were joined at the hip, with nods to The Sugar Hill Gang and The Furious Five, as well as the Golden Age and artists like Chubb Rock and Big Daddy Kane. Swamburger’s machine gun delivery and Deviant’s sharp cuts pull the track right into 2025 for maximum impact. Flip side “Where’s The Party Clap” is a big trunk of cut and paste funk with a popping bass line, horns, claps, cuts and a groove that just doesn’t quit.

Grover Washington Jr, Hydra. This jazz classic finds its first time on 45. Released in 1975 with arrangement and keys by Bob James it’s no surprise to hear an infectious head nod groove under
GWJ’s sublime sax licks. The drums have been sampled over 100 times from ATCQ to Biggie, but
most will recognise the bass hook obviously sampled by Black Moon
for their underground hip hop classic “How Many MC’s”.
Seals & Crofts, Sweet Green Fields. Never before on 45, the Californian soft rock duos’
album cut can easily slip by most diggers. The familiar staccato bassline will have your neck snapping, while a proggy folky riff floats over head. A slightly extended DJ friendly intro showcases the
bass and drum hook sampled for Busta Rhymes’ 1997 hit “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could
See”.

Ode To Native Tongues” attempts to capture the feeling of coming of age between the years of
1989 -1993 (and beyond) while listening and witnessing the legendary Native Tongues crew
releasing timeless classic albums and singles. Told through the experience of seeing the early
episodes of “Yo! MTV Raps”, a friend sharing De La Soul’s first album, sharing that album with
my cousin who in exchange shared Queen Latifah’s music or finding out about “Bonita
Applebum” by Tribe at my high school’s homecoming dance. Evoking nostalgia as well as tell
a story of how this music served as the soundtrack woven into the fabric of my youth, my
coming of age, was the aim.
SIDE B: EVERYTHING'S FOR SALE (GOTTA GET IT)
Everything’s For Sale” was inspired partly by a story of an elderly couple who went
brokhaving to pay for their medicine.“Everything’s For Sale” speaks to how the value of
money permeates all facets of this modern life, and as such it seemed only natural for it to
reach into my creative world. This time however I wanted to make a song that cross examined
how this super ficiality has affected music culture, let alone how it has rendered some in our
society invisible -- a clear sign of a society void of compassion. The Platurn beat with a
moving guitar riff pushed this song further, providing me the cover of a funky beat to dive into
a topic that might not normally move an audience. Part cheat code for slipping in a conscious
message to the audience without raising the alarm of the listener who may not be expecting
anything more than entertainment

The 6th installment of the world-renowned classic scratch tool series, Zarecord 3 7” takes the vocals from it's 12” parent-project and remixes them with portable turntable users in mind. Nmcp's avant-garde instrumental beats have long been a driving force behind the worldwide scratch scene, with their chest-rattling Polyvox basslines, stripped down elemental funk, and infectious drum patterns providing the framework for battles, performances and friendly meet-ups since the first Zalooper dropped back in 2013. The link between Nmcp and Cut & Paste Records was established through the shared passion for cutting records to disc on mastering lathes, and cutting sounds up on turntables. Since then, we've toured and performed together in the UK, Germany, Belarus and their native Russia, constantly researching ways to develop the vinyl record as a musical performance tool. Zarecord 1 and 2 brought raw attitude and fresh sound palettes with their skipless vocal samples, and re-imagined what a scratch record could offer by including full-length instrumentals instead of the more “traditional” sparse beat loops lifted from other records. With Zarecord 3, the concept is flipped once more with the Nmcp crew delving into their archives and supplying original parts of some of their classic beats in a pioneering format. Both sides of Zarecord 3 7” are packed with vocal samples, arranged in a way to make it easy to find the right sound, with longer sounds on the outside, and the loops packing more syllables as you progress to the center of the record. On the end of both sides there are 2 lock grooves – an infinite drum loop which can be used to cut with or simply as a break to practice to, and an infinite Shepherd Tone that seems to endlessly drop or rise in pitch. This record is dedicated to the memory of the artist who created the iconic imagery for the Zarecord series: 8D. The cover for Zarecord 3 was originally a painting by 8D, and we worked closely with him to adapt the piece into a record sleeve design carrying all the mystery and magic of the original. The Spot-Gloss finish makes the cover art jump right out and appears to change with the light.

Side B is brought to you by the incredibly talented Toronto Disco duo, LeBaron James. LeBaron James are at the top of their game, pumping out high quality Disco Edits to a whole host of successful labels. Home base for them has been the incredibly successful Spacedisco label, run by Juno award winning Toronto artist, Hatiras. Their super catchy Disco edit of “Never gonna give my love again” will have you singing at the top of your lungs, feeling like you’re front and center at Studio 54! The vibe gets pushed even further into overdrive with the onset of a smooth and sexy sax solo that carries through the tail end of the record. First up for the Soul Flip treatment is Sam & Dave's "Soul Man", Del somehow making an already big tune even bigger, and very much more DJ-friendly.



On the flip, Del takes the O'Jays original version of "Now That We Found Love" & injects it with fresh energy. It also retains the glorious strings from the album version that was edited out from the original 7" (UK only) release.

While over on Side B, Platurn offers us an extended, DJ-friendly, stemmed-out version that holds more true to Marvin's take while also adding all the flavor we wish the OG had!
