Item Description
The Paraboot Barth is Blake-stitched, a traditional technique also known as sewn-through stitching. In 1858, the shoemaker Leeman Reed Blake, a young employee of the sewing machine company Singer, invented this technique, which gives the shoe more suppleness and lightness.

With Blake stitching, the upper is sewn directly to the sole. Blake-stitched designs are lightweight and flexible, especially if the soles are made of rubber. Visually, the shoe is more elegant than those with a Goodyear seam. From a technical point of view, however, it is not as durable and more permeable than Norwegian or Goodyear-stitched shoes.

Paraboot insoles, heels and soles are still produced and vulcanized with the same composition as in the past. Therefore, the rubber achieves the best material and mechanical properties in terms of comfort, adaptability and wear resistance. Paraboot's rubber compounds originate in France and are vulcanized in the company's own factory in Saint Jean de Moirans on its own presses.

Certain skills are no longer mastered in France. In order to be able to continue offering the Barth, Paraboot has entrusted its production to a long-standing Spanish partner who delivers reliable quality. As a country steeped in tradition, Spain has been able to preserve proven manufacturing techniques and its generally recognized knowledge of the patina or genuine moccasin seam.

Paraboot Barth - features:

• upper: premium full-grain leather, unlined
• Derby single leaf insert
• 2 eye lacing with metal eyelets
• leather laces
• Blake stitching
• homemade vulcanized rubber sole
• handmade in Spain
