Item Description
This selection from Skank and Grove features The Rulers, the Kingston based vocal Rocksteady group who were active between 1966-1969. The two great songs offered here were produced by Carl Johnson of JJ Records. Carl Johnson's JJ was also responsible for masterfully bringing the vocally and lyrically sound group The Ethiopians to the forefront of reggae music even producinh one of their top tunes of the era, "Everything Crash". Johnson's studio band The Carib Beat, delivered a particular rough type of rock steady which proved to be no impediment to The Rulers.
