A truly essential piece of early Detroit Techno history here, Octave One's original white label "Octivation" EP from 1990 has long been a sought after and coveted slab of wax. This 5 track journey charts the Burden brothers mood from sinister, spacey, acidic Techno jams ("Sonic Fusion") to deeper, more melancholic mid-tempo cuts ("Nicolette") and along the way manages to usher in a new wave of Detroit Techno sounds.

Steeped in soul and depth "Octivation" was hinting towards the epic style Octave One would shape with their various projects in the following decades and releases. The earliest glimpse (Their 1st release) into a long and fruitful career that is still continuing today. This EP was a game changer and it's influence can still be felt in contemporary House and Techno right now.

Now, finally made available again to be re-discovered and experienced.

Hector Oaks Remix. We are delighted to bring out this timeless classic techno track signed by the brilliant Marine BOY with his Atomix crew, the fabulous "S.T.K. (Eternal)" released in 1991 (!) (prices on discogs are ridiculously unsane) and which has never been repressed until this day. This record represents for us all that techno has best, an incredible dynamic, sounds coming from space, when techno rhymed with Future. We even think that this record also strongly influenced what later became breakbeat, led by the legendary Prodigy. Huge honor, Marine Boy also gratifies us with an unreleased from 1991 "The wonder of science" which could appear easily (& sound a million times better !) in any techno & trance mix in its noblest form today. Cherry on the cake S.T.K. (Eternal) is remixed by the great Hector Oaks in a version that will delight today's techno dancefloor as well as by Hardrock Striker & JOE Lewandowski in an italo techno version. The sound is more than perfect since we had the chance to get the master tapes. This 12 inch is a concentrate of rage and madness, capable of reducing any dancefloor to ashes. A wonder.

Trelik returns with a repackaged edition of one of the catalogue's most treasured releases. "Overcome" and "Lady Science (NYC Sunrise)" need little introduction, and now come sporting the new TR11:11 matrix number. Written and produced by Thomas Melchior and Baby Ford aka Soul Capsule, these tracks came from one of the many sessions recorded at the West London Ifach Studio in 1999. On the A Side "Overcome" is stripped back and energetic, driven by rolling and shuffling garage style beats, tight bubbling bass and atmospheric synth pads. The intermittent vocal samples and the release's signature organ set you up for the flip, "Lady Science (NYC Sunrise)". Possibly one of house music's most emotive pieces, the track builds slowly with the introduction of each part building a story of soulful optimism based around a sparse palette of deep synths, uplifting keys and warm analogue bass. The understated beauty of the main vocal riff never seems to grow old or tired with the track lending itself perfectly to either main room, peak-time play or after-hours sessions alike. Originally released in 1992 on M-Plant subsidery label Hardwax as one of Robert Hood's Underground Resistance alias: The Vision. Now 25 years later is resurfaces remastered by Thomas Heckman on transparent smokey vinyl. The vinyl is cut the same way as the original release with the A side running inside out.

The first release on Optimo Music founder JD Twitch’s new compilation-focused label Cease & Desist will be a collection of pioneering turn-of-the-90s British “Bleep & Bass” techno tracks curated by author and music journalist Matt Anniss. Join The Future: UK Bleep & Bass 1988-91 is a partner product to Anniss’s critically acclaimed book on the foundations of British dance music’s ongoing love affair with sub-bass, Join The Future: Bleep Techno and the Birth of British Bass Music. The book, which was published by Velocity Press in December and features a foreword by JD Twitch, documents in vivid detail the previously untold story of the Yorkshire-pioneered style and the impact it had on the development of UK dance music. The compilation is the first to focus on Bleep & Bass since the sound’s heyday in the late 1980s and early ’90s. It features a mix of historic cuts, period classics, overlooked gems and unreleased material. It was mastered for release by Warp Records co-founder and Forgemasters member Rob Gordon, a producer, remixer and studio engineer who arguably did more than anyone else to define the sub-heavy sound of the style.

Leo was born in 1972 and at the age of 15 discovered his passion for electronic music creating his first loops thanks to his Commodore Vic 20 and 64, spreading his own sound in the city when it was impossible to find in Rome any trace of electronic beats. Soon after he became a true collector of analogue synthesizers with a serious approach in the study of modular synthesis which led him to develop unique skills as we have recognition of them from his early works for ACV records: Attack Random, Riders Of the Future, Noise Generation, Muta, Cannibald and Aeon are still a milestones for nowadays electronic music aficionados. 1989 marked the birth of The Sound of Rome, when Leo met Lory D in a small garage bringing life to a universal and alternative music movement who diffused Techno Music in Rome and all over Italy, pushing these two wizards behind the decks playing along the like of Dave Clarke, Joey Beltram, Robert Armani and UR among others. In 1995 Leo decided to cut his relationship with ACV records and moved to Rephlex, Aphex Twin’s record label, starting touring with the Rephlex group after the Void album. Ten years later Leo recorded his first single for a new project: Cannibald Records. Back to Life main target is to focus on house and techno classics reissue, and the mission continue with the official reissue of 1991 Leo's Noise Generation, a true special record that snaps an unforgettable highlight in the rave scene. Technasia remix. Limited edition remastered, originally released on F Communications 1998. Andreas Köhler studied cello and piano at Musikhochschule Karlsruhe and at Musikhochschule Basel. He experiments extensively from a soft base on the cello, for example, in the composition of the short elementary symphony. Then came a time for other musical experiences, alongside his formal training, experimenting with digital recordings, composition and arrangement skills. Sound Of K digs into the idea that the computer is to be treated as an instrument.

25th Anniversary Edition. Originally released on F Communications 1995. The group was founded in Dijon France in 1993 with three members: Olivier Saint Denis, Olivier Kaiser and Olivier Regis. The name "Square" comes from the initials of each surname. SKR was passionate about "machine music" and more particularly for those who came from Detroit.
