A beautiful and energizing musical trip"YEAHRS were founded in 2017 in Strasbourg/France. After a short break and the addition of style-defining guitarist Oyémi Héssou from JAGUWAR, the band is now based in Berlin and also consists of Morgan Oliveira (vocals/guitar), Thomas Neuwirth (bass) and Tom Claudon (drums).Within a few years of their existence, they have already made a name for themselves in the resurgent shoegaze and alternative rock scene, touring the UK and Europe with bands such as NOTHING, SOFT KILL, SWERVEDRIVER, EXPLOSIONS IN THE SKY and HOTLINE TNT. Their EP "Transfer Transformers" brought them their first major attention in early 2023, especially from critics, and already manifested the direction in which the YEAHRS' new sound was to go."Smokescreen" and "Raindrops", the pre-released singles from the album, bring back the band's post-shoegaze vibe for which they first became known in the scene: a mixture of melancholic, floating sounds in the spirit of SLOWDIVE and Kevin Shields and the brute-aesthetic outbursts that one would associate with classics such as GANG OF FOUR or Steve Albini's BIG BLACK.Morgan Oliveira, frontman and one of the creative minds behind the band said: "I would describe our sound as a mixture of all our different influences. If I had to categorise our music into a genre, I would say something like post-shoegaze, but we have a lot of other influences that you can hear in our music: Grunge, post-punk, dream pop, indie and hardcore for example. It's kind of a mixture of all that, a bit cloudy and dreamy, but heavy and raw at the same time"."Spiritual Sickness" will be released digitally as well as in a high-quality LP version (red vinyl, glossy lacquer sleeve), which will contain a "hidden" bonus track that will only be released on vinyl as a special encore for those sound gourmets who already have this band on their radar and are waiting for this very vinyl debut. 1.
