Wild Carnation was formed in 1992 by vocalist/bassist Brenda Sauter (The Feelies, Speed the Plough, The Trypes) following the breakup and subsequent 16-year hiatus of The Feelies. Joined by Richard Barnes (electric and acoustic guitars), Christopher O'Donovan (drums, percussion, backing vocals) the trio put out their debut album Tricycle in 1994. It wasn’t until 12 years later and the addition of Anne Hopkins (Farfisa Mini-Compact Organ) that the band released their follow-up album Superbus in 2006. Pine Hill Records is proud to present the first ever vinyl issue of Superbus. A limited number of just 197 records were pressed (100 black, 97 purple/green splatter). What is it like to be up in that ominous, dark blue/pink sky that we stare at in wonder? Without the use of a single word, Don Harriss shifts the unknown universal connection to the forefront of the mind with the mystical collection of compositions on his album Elevations. Originally released in 1987, this album is seeing its first-ever appearance on vinyl. This ambient, melodic new age masterpiece will bring you to unspoken places. Tracks like “Motion #4”, “Impromptu” & ”The Tortoise, The Temple & The Rain” showcase the album’s element of depth. Various diverse themes carry you all the way to the beautiful closing track “Caravans.” To the right age audience, this album is highly reminiscent of some of the best 80s & 90s video game soundtracks. This could fit right onto the Ecco The Dolphin 1992 Sega Genesis soundtrack. Other tracks could be well-imagined in 1994’s Donkey Kong Country on Super Nintendo. Picturesque, the upcoming solo album by singer songwriter Tom Barvick, is a glimpse inside of Barvick’s mind, life, and experiences, highlighted by the Covid-19 pandemic. Tom, having played in bands his whole life, found himself songwriting in a much different way throughout the last few years. The pandemic caused periods of isolation from friends and band mates, and out of this alone time, he found the time to write an entire record alone on an acoustic guitar. When brought to Kennedy Studios in Burlington, MA with engineer Steve Aliperta (The Color and Sound; Pray For Sound) these songs were brought to life. While every song was written solo acoustic, Barvick, a multi-instrumentalist, created a full band arrangement for each song and performed every track on the record, excluding piano, performed by Aliperta, and a few guest musicians scattered throughout the album. The album draws inspiration from a variety of Tom’s favorite genres, blending indie rock & Americana with a modern acoustic pop style. Now as the world sees the reopening of venues and continued touring for bands, Tom is ready to release his debut solo album, Picturesque, available on Pine Hill Records. The physical release will be limited to 200 hand numbered vinyl copies.

At long last we’re happy to bring you the release of Tulu & Wimpy Fly Like A Cucumber. This full-length record was recorded in 2014 at Electric Cave Studio in Portsmouth, NH by Scott Gildersleeve (aka Tulu) Jack Hayes (aka Wimpy), and Marc McElroy. Gildersleeve and Hayes, along with Joe King, were the original members of the infamous punk rock band The Queers who formed in the early 1980’s. Gildersleeve and Hayes also played together in the Boston-based band The Monsignors in the late 1980’s. Tulu and Wimpy Fly Like a Cucumber contains new songs written by Scott Gildersleeve, and recorded in 2014 by Gildersleeve, Hayes and McElroy, as well as some unreleased and remixed songs by the Monsignors. Tragically, in early 2015, within a few weeks of the completion of these recordings, Scott Gildersleeve aka Tulu... left us... hopefully to a better place than this world. “But finally, I am able to release this truly outstanding record, that I had the pleasure of being able to create with my best friend. A year after Alain Eskinasi released his solo album Many Worlds, One Tribe, he rejoined William Aura and Craig Dobbin to write and produce Vital Force, 3rd Force’s third studio album in 1997. In terms of the group’s previous two albums, 3rd Force branches out to produce a new, energetic sound on this release. Eskinasi brings his recent experience with tribal influences to the album and this is apparent in many tracks. This, combined with the many years of groove and soundscape production experience from Aura and Dobbin, lifts 3rd Force to new heights and leaves listeners wanting more. Featured performers include Rick Braun on flugelhorn, and Craig Chaquico and Peter White on guitar. Vital Force is dedicated to the memory of Steve Feinstein. The dream continues... For the first time in the group’s history, Vital Force will be available on vinyl in a super-limited pressing of 100 copies with a download card included. This pressing offers a warm, semi-transparent green color.
