Memento Records is proud to release a 4 tracker from French Producer/DJ and Electronic Music latest sensation Voiron. As a testament to Idriss D’s unflinching commitment to discover new talents, the Parisian multidisciplinary artist’s “Voir’o’one” EP delivers a stunning selection of unpredictable and unabashed beats and melodies, drawing inspiration from his many skills as a musician and as a cartoon designer. Fresh off his appearance at Craig Richards’ latest Houghton Festival, Voiron mixes his influences from genres such as Acid, Rave, Hardcore, Ghetto and Hard House to create his unique blend of music, pleasing the ears of the most knowledgeable cognoscenti and crazy ravers at the same time, creating music that can both be enjoyed at home or get lost to on the dance floor. Title track “Voir’o’one” starts off with a ferocious 4/4 kick drum and acid sounds, its vocal sample swirling around the percussive rhythm; “Voiron Mania” hints at 90s’ early Techno, with 303 crazy arpeggios and subtle mood changes while “Donjon Et Voiron” syncopated breakbeats and mesmerizing synths make for a total club banger. Closing “D’Or Et De Voiro”’s dreamy chords and crescendo tonal phrases round off the EP with an uncompromising vibe, once again showing a remarkable knack for sonic experimentation.

Analha was one of the first approaches I had with the design of analog basses and drums, to understand the way in which we can involve so many sounds and transform them to our own liking, to give it its own narrative, a sense, an identity in which it can be navigated about different styles without problem.

They are two pieces that make up totally different break paths where "Mi ama Dic K no" [a1] is my own exploration and vision of the break beat, three melodies written in F # that count the subtlety, while the bass contrasts in an aggressive idea to the beat of many changing rhythms in the drums, which sorfs between a Mpc, 808, Dsm & V Modular ; Classic trip hop voices samples that guide the way this own idea progresses on the breaks and pads that generate a more complete environment with a very energetic atmosphere that is constantly on the rise in the active and natural development of the track.

Towards the B side "Run mami run" [b1] is composed by a classic intro of acid cut while some seconds of drums interpose which are accompanied by a radio narration of a chase, a return change is present with a vinyl spin between voices from GTA & WU Tang Clan which make an intro for an infusion of breaks fully aligned to the beginnings of oldskool drum and bass which are accompanied by voices recorded, treated and edited to connect more directly between the spaces interrupted by the glitch acid chords.

Among contrary structures "Analha" contains hidden but marked criticisms, it is a project that comes from 2018 and ended at the beginning of 2019 which made him think about how to involve more than music within his own sound narrative.

The sonorous identity of rachiid today is different, he understands his environment but does not believe in adapting, he tells us that each exploration and discovery during these years have led him to think how this first release was born until now but is not connected at all with what nowadays, describes his sonority today as changeable, essential and highly with IDM, experimental and breaks.

Memento’s label honcho Idriss D is back at the production duties with a mesmerising super single featuring a shattering remix by the Norwegian infamous wonder known as Dj Sotofett. “Lunatic” symbolises Idriss D natural inclination for an incessant sonic exploration, which on this esoteric cur, has brought him to the darkest and the most hectic jungle territories; drawing from the early nineties British tradition but with a long sight into the contemporary climate, these heavy rattling beats and scattered vocals will simply leave you speechless. On the flip side , Dj Sotofett is just condensed cutting edge music technology wisdom; the straight deep beat and the charming arpeggios transform the original mayhem into a late night anthem. The splendid picture on the release cover has been taken by Ismail Zaidy of L4artiste, which is also responsible for the astonishing video teaser, while the artwork has been as usual an graphic affair of Boogie.

Germano Ventura is an Italian DJ, Producer and owner of the record label Howl. A resident at the famed Circolo Degli Illuminati club in Rome, his busy touring schedule sees him play at some of the country’s most iconic venues such as Il Muretto in Jesolo and Cocoricò Riccione, sharing the decks with artist like Ricardo Villalobos, Zip and Loco Dice. Known for his dark and minimalistic style, his productions often take inspiration from early House tracks, even more so here in his debut EP “Mai Day” for Memento. The title track’s swinging groove and percussions match catchy New York House vocals, a nod at what could be heard at the Big Apple’s clubs Studio 54 and Limelight. “Time 22”pounding drum sounds and raw beats bring on funky sounds reminiscent of the ball room scene seen in the documentary Paris is Burning, while closing track “f8” boasts hip-hop vocals and some naughty electro-disco melodies, ready to cause some serious voguing on the dance floor.

Idriss D welcomes to Memento Records UK electronic mavericks Dark Globe. The famed duo consisting of Pete Diggens and Matt Frost has been releasing influential music for the last 30 years, starting off with industrial noise inspired tunes and later developing their sound into an experimental blend of breakbeats and twisted melodies, in what they call “epic pop”, taking in influences from classical English composers to hip hop grooves. Collaborations with Television’s Tom Verlaine and Boy George add to the magic of their artistic journey.

For this special EP, Idriss D has acquired the licensing rights to Dark Globe’s own Take Me To The Sound: along with the original track, two exclusive remixes are included, one from Howie B. and one by Pete and Matt themselves.

The original version, although hailing directly from the early 90s, boasts timeless vibes and flavours: marching beats, drum rolls and analog squelching synth tones make it as relevant as ever, a sophisticated Electronica piece that would fit perfectly in every club compilation these days.

Howie B’s masterful version flows with a syncopated rhythm and trippy vibe, a stripped down rendition designed for an afterhour party in a dark basement. Dark Globe’s own remix features quieter vocals with reverb splashed over the 303.

Memento Records’ boss Idriss D goes back to his more experimental side on this release, pushing the boundaries like he did on his first Lunatic EP, coming up once again with another Jungle-infused mesmerizing piece of Electronica that mixes breakbeat influences with melodic soulful vibes. A very welcome follow up, aptly titled “Lunatic 2”, this tune is fiercely uptempo and energetic: the psychedelic melody swirls inside, outside and around your mind, while the fluid bass line counterparts the schizophrenic rhythm. On top of this, powerful emotional vocals take you into another dimension. The prestigious remix comes courtesy of Gilb’R, founder of Versatile Records and one half of Chateau Flight: a slower downtempo piece with an infectious, almost improvisational synth melody, with vocals taking center stage here, full of atmospheric sounds all over that land into a deep dreamy break.
