Two years after the sophomore album Cathodnatius, Ananda Mida is back with Karnak, an EP containing three tracks recorded live in the Summers 2018 and 2019. The opening track is an unreleased instrumental version of “Anulios”, taken from the debut LP Anodnatius. The following piece is an instrumental jam in which Pablo gave way to maestro Mario Lalli (Yawning Man, Fatso Jetson) on guitars while the last one is “The Pilot”, opening track of Cathodnatius with the valuable Conny Ochs on vocals. This EP bears witness to the unfettered and spiced up attitude of improvisations, that has constantly distinguished Ananda Mida’s live activity. The band has always wanted to embody the strong idea of a collective, giving space to free collaborations or changes in formation in live performances. The graphics by eeviacare a further step towards the choral composition that will see the light with the next album Reconciler, which will complete the trilogy.

OJM has been one of the first Italian bands dedicated to stoner-rock, so much that its first EP goes back to 20 years ago. The band from Treviso (north of Italy) has been able to evolve and improve. Both, musicians and style changed over the years and moved to the seventies garage and the heavy-psych, which are superbly represented in the last album Volcano dated 2010. Ten years passed since then and the band never officially split up. We can talk about a long hibernation which is alternated to awakenings heated by terrific live performances: the best way to enjoy its music! All the different formations that have followed over the years, turn around the two founding members, the drummer Max Ear and the vocalist David Martin, who are the beating hearts of a creature able to give us truly unforgettable emotions! Live At Rocket Club captures the band in one of the best ever moment of its artistic life. It is the tour that promoted the aforementioned Volcano which reached fame and success thanks to the production and mixing of Dave Catching (qotsa, Desert Sessions, Eagles of Death Metal). The line-up is embellished by the presence of guitarist Andrew Pozzi (bassist in the previous formation) and Stefano Pasky on the organ. The new band realised a personal groove marked by The Hellacopters’ guitar sound and characterized by sixties atmospheres reminding The Doors’ Fender Rhodes Piano Bass. Live At Rocket Club will be printed in 300 copies (only vinyl) thanks to the cooperation between Go Down Records and Vincebus Eruptum Recordings and it is a summa of the great show of OJM at the Rocket Club in Landshut, Germany. Most of the 10 tracks recorded during the performance are taken from Volcano, but there are also iconic pieces such as the brilliant cover “Hush”, which was made famous already by Deep Purple’s Mark I in 1968. Waiting for the band waking up in the strongest way ever as soon as possible, we have just to enjoy these historical testaments. Long live rock’n’roll!

Golgotha is the sixth studio album by Bleeding Eyes. After Gammy (©2014 Go Down Records) the band embarked on a different stylistic and compositional path. Starting from long and substantial jams, the five-piece band extrapolated and deepened 7 tracks lasting almost 50 minutes. The influences are getting darker. Black on black. The esoteric doom mixed with the tipically sludgy attitude, give to their personal existential ordeal a picture in which Simone Tesser’s lyrics fit perfectly. Golgotha’s topics tell about saints and unbelievers, the latter ones in constant conflict with life and death. This new interpretation, that also takes inspiration from the heretic gospels of the apocalypse (first 2 tracks), represents the steady and never ending spiritual detachment, that our capitalist society has lived in for several decades. With mocking irony and lots of sarcasm a post-dogmatic dark way is proposed by the band to deal with the ordeal of everyday life. The studio recording process lasted several months and was handled by Jason Nealy and Marco Dussin (guitarist and bassist respectively). Drums and rhythm guitars were recorded at the music club Benicio Live Gigs, located in the suggestive woods of the Montello hill in Italy. While the final steps, mixing and mastering took place at BadRum studio in Asolo, Italy. Golgotha has a really deep and dense meaning for the band and the graphic part plays an important role too; that’s why the Bleeding Eyes has chosen the Lorenzo Ferraro’s photography. The album artwork consists in pictures taken right after the passage of the devastating storm Vaia, that heavily damaged the band’s hometown surroundings. The desolation post Vaia matches perfectly with Golgotha’s magmatic darkness. The event proved our disarming weakness in front of an untamed force of nature, that can unleash destroying powers yet unknown. The album title itself is therefore -calvario- the combination of a natural imagery that reveals the misery of the precarious human condition.

About THE Band: Mad Dogs is a band born and devoted to rock since 2009. In 2016 the band found its shape and stabililty after several formation changes. From now on the artistic and creative process has been oriented towards high energy rock and 70s’ sounds. In autumn of the same year, the Mad Dogs entered the Go Down Studio in Savignano sul Rubicone to record Ass Shakin ‘Dirty Rollers. The album was mixed and mastered by Alfredo “Epi” Gentili and it came out in April 2017 via Go Down Records. It was an instinctive record, written and recorded in a short time and able to shoot the band without filters. The project was supported by the 2 singles “I Can Move” and “Point Of View”, both launched with videos. The critics positively welcomed the work. Strengthened by the gained experience and with a new awareness, the band was ready to record the new album We Are Ready To Testify in June 2019. The Mad Dogs showed off a powerful sound, emphasizing the rock’n roll attitude and love for garage-rock sounds, but giving space to more refined details and 70s atmosphere too. During these years the band has shared the stage with artists such as Lords Of Altamont, Deniz Tek (Radio Birdman), Keith Streng (Fleshtones), Yawing Man, Sick Rose, Not Moving and many others.

On their third record, called Motel Rooms, Mother Island collected 10 fresh jangle songs they recorded at Outside Inside Studio right after their tour along the West Coast. With California still in their heart, the band grew wiser, and tried to put some italianness in this brand new work. After all, they never concealed their love for 60s Italian movies and vibes à la Morricone can certainly be heard along the tracks. THE Band Mother Island is a surreal, whimsical and lunatic space where five musicians resurface their primary and dawning influences. Mother Island is “A Magic Theatre, For Madmen Only”. Mother Island is all in the eyes of the men. Their sound has been described as “the scorching heat of the Westcoastian psychedelia filtered by a lysergic British fog”. In fact, their influences are synthesized through a personal reinterpretation of the visionary rock of the 60s. The band previously released two albums via Go Down Records, both recorded by Matteo Bordin at Outside Inside Studio: Cosmic Pyre (2015) and Wet Moon (2016). Before entering again the recording studio in June of 2018, Mother Island toured along the West Coast of the US to test their new stuff. Touring intensely to promote their second album, sharing the stage with artists such as Mark Lanegan, The Pretty Things, Jacco Gardner, Kula Shaker and Dead Meadow, collecting approvals inside and outside Italy, the band is surfing its buena onda, ready more than ever to bring abroad their personal reinterpretation of what was rock’n’roll in its golden era.

Say the artists on the genesis of the album: “Our producer Marco Fasolo, who first listened to some of our stuff recorded with a smartphone in the rehearsal room, encouraged us to reproduce the live sound on the record. So we did a single live take for each song, recording in two rooms divided by glass to avoid feedback. No overdubbing or post-production processing was done. In this way what you hear is the essence of who we are, how we compose and perform our music, with all our deep passion and expressive urgency”.
