Title-cut ‘Tivoli’ opens and sets the tone with twitchy acid lines, murky dub swells, skippy percussion and eerie textural atmospherics. ‘Agree’ follows and shifts gears into deep house realms courtesy of a bright organ hook,

swirling pad lines, tension building strings and oscillating bass drones, all underpinned by a crisp rhythm section.

‘Wonderful Transmission’ kicks off the b-side next with a electro tinged feel, fusing robotic voices and squelchy bass flutters with saturated drums and haunting resonant synth leads. Last up to conclude the EP is ‘Haunted’,

an apt title for the eerie, intricately textured composition featuring heavily processed voices, warbling bass notes and robust drums.

Adam’s Bite label manager Martinesuqe delivers his new EP ‘Curtain Call’ this November via the label, comprising two original compositions and one instrumental mix.

Basel, Switzerland’s Martinesque has been etching his mark into the underground over the past decade through releases on Adam’s Bite and as an integral part of the Swiss scene, heading up the bookings of the widely beloved Elysia club on his home turf up until 2023.

Here, Martinesque makes a welcome return to Adam’s Bite following on from his debut album ‘Think Outside The Box’ on the label in 2023.

‘Drama’ leads the EP and sees Martinesque lay down twitchy synth lines, squelchy acid bass tones and resonant flutters alongside spiralling dub echoes, murky vocals and crisp, shuffled drums.

The ‘(Instrumental)’ version of ‘The Final Hour’ follows next, shifting gears down to deeper realms courtesy of airy chord sequences, intricate off-kilter percussion and gritty bass notes all dynamically nuanced throughout. Lastly the ‘(Vocal)’ mix of ‘The Final Hour concludes the package, introducing a hypnotic spoken world vocal to the composition

Switzerlandâ€™s Adamâ€™s Bite welcomes Romanian artist Lumieux onto its roster this July with the â€˜When I Think Of Youâ€™ EP. Hailing for the Romanian capital of Bucharest, Lumieux is one of many artists coming out of this region and defining a style thatâ€™s driven by stripped-back percussion, subtle nuance and detailed intricacies. Lumieuxâ€™s productions have found a home on the likes of Subtil Records, Antrakt, Dissonant and Uvar among others, while as a DJ he operates a core member of the prized Sunrise Agency out of Romania. Here though, we see Lumieux delivering his latest EP for Adamâ€™s Bite, following recent material from IULY.B, Flabbergast and Audio Werner. â€˜Psychoâ€™ leads the EP, laid out across nine and a half minutes with murky dub chords, fluttering bass tones and choppy vocals intertwined with a swinging drum groove. â€˜Tifosiâ€™ follows and retains a similar aesthetic, bringing choppy stab sequences and wandering bass licks to the forefront, underpinned by shuffled modulating percussion and crisp drums. â€˜What You Are To Meâ€™ opens the B-side next, stripping things back to twitchy acid tinged synths, hypnotic vocal lines and vocoded voices while bumpy delayed tom toms, weighty kicks and congas subtly evolve and unfold throughout. Lastly â€˜Nebulaâ€™ rounds out the EP, employing a plucked stab-led bass groove at its core alongside expansive delayed atmospherics and a crunchy saturated rhythm.

Strong Limited! For his debut LP, Martinesque dove deep. It is a project borne out of a personal history with electronic music spanning over two decades long, melting his influences and ambitions into a single piece. Bound together by the dance floor experience at large, this collection is unwilling to subject itself to a path of linear narration, embracing an approach more ecclectic instead. Throughout the albums runtime, we are invited to rediscover trace memories of starry-eyed nights of yore. We find nods to big beat and electropop, acid, breaks and trance. All over, big basslines recall the sweaty basement jams Martinesque grew to love. Everything tied up and strapped down tight by the slamming house derivates the man has built his name on. This is a set of transcendent tools dreamt up the morning after. This is packaged and presented to invite receptors to rearrange, reshape, recompile. This is the sum of its parts, and parts might differ.
