Science Of Sound, also known as S.O.S, is a hip hop crew formed in 1995 in the heart of Los Angeles, California. The group consists of MCs Cipher and Blaze, DJ Red, and producer Neutron. Their unique sound fuses elements of jazz, soul and electronic music with traditional hip hop beats, making them pioneers in the underground hip hop scene. S.O.S. released their first album, Kaleidoscope Phonetics, in 1998, quickly becoming known for its innovative sound and socially conscious lyrics. Since then, the group has released three more albums to critical acclaim and a loyal fan base.

Innovative and ready for collaborations

The success of Kaleidoscope Phonetics put the group on the map and helped establish them as one of the leading voices in the underground hip hop scene. Their innovative sound and political activism helped push the boundaries of what was thought possible in the hip hop genre. The group’s dedication to pushing the boundaries and their refusal to conform to industry standards made them a role model for other artists. S.O.S has had a significant impact on the hip hop industry through their innovative and experimental style of music. Their collaboration with the legendary A Tribe Called Quest solidified their position as one of the leading hip hop groups of their time.
