Philadelphia's Breadman Mgv has always been known to give back to his community through extracurricular activities programs for at-risk youth while at the same time engaging in his love for entertainment. With a passion for hip-hop, Breadman Mgv formed the group P.N.B. and released the critically acclaimed album "Organized Badguys," which received an immense amount of radio airplay. Inspired by the results of this first venture, he continued pursuing music, starting with some high-profile collaborations with his Grammy Award winning cousin Billy Paul and other local artists such as Naam Brigade, Ram Squad, and The Man They Call Lux, to name a few. Breadman Mgv is the proud founder/C.E.O. of moodGroov LLC which he operates with his business partner, Chris Perez. 4 Play +1 is an extremely rare early hip-hop EP original released on Harbor Light Records in 1989 featuring six virtually unknown rappers including Little 7 (James Stokes), MC Rap (Anthony Kerr), Hassan, female rapper Dizzy Dee, plus Bobby B & DJ Slide, that is notable for the stellar arranging and production work of music industry veterans Patrick Adams and George Kerr. Producer, arranger, songwriter Patrick Adams won the ASCAP Songwriter of the Year Award three times and has earned 32 gold and platinum records. In the 1980s he started out as an engineer at Power Play Studios and did work for artists like Eric B. & Rakim, Heavy D. & The Boyz, Keith Sweat, R. Kelly, Salt-N-Pepa and Teddy Riley. A highly influential singer, songwriter and producer in the New York/New Jersey area, George Kerr started his career singing lead for Little Anthony & The Imperials prior to signing a songwriting deal with Motown / Jobete and learning production in Detroit. After his deal with Motown, Kerr returned to New Jersey where he wrote for, and/or produced such great soul artists as Linda Jones, The Whatnauts, Manhattans, The Escorts, Phyllis Hyman, and especially for the roster of Sylvia Robinson's All Platinum Records.

The collective known as Ready To Roll was a Hip-hop group from Jersey City, NJ consisting of Mark "M.C. Supreme" Curry (rapper/producer), Eric "Tysheen" Freeman (DJ), Christopher "Rizzo" Warren (Hype-Man) and Joseph "Music Maestro J-Rule" Jenkins (producer). The group released several singles between 1993 and 1994 including the underground classics "The Real Hip Hop" and "Drug Game." "Drug Game" was recognized by The Source magazine with a powerful write up praising them for the songs socially conscious lyrics. The music video for the track was shot by then up and coming video director Hype Williams. Featured here is "The Real Hip Hop" b/w "Ready Ta Roll," one of Ready To Roll's most sought out pieces of wax, originally released in 1993 and presented here newly remastered from the original 12" vinyl mixes and finally made available in the digital domain, including all 6 original mixes.
