Citirax is excited to introduce the debut LP from the Los Angeles-based duo Op-art, a project born out of the creative isolation of the lockdown era. The band, the brainchild of Andrew Clinco—known for his work with Drab Majesty—was originally named using the acronym "Oblique Pleasures Amidst Rough Times," a nod to the challenging times that inspired its formation.

In Andrew’s own words, the album “represents a sonic analog to the visual art movement of the 1960s,” meaning it is both densely layered and psychedelic, yet aims to capture a sense of minimalism in its tradition, theory, and conceptual approach. Op-art’s sound is heavily influenced by the New Wave genre, drawing inspiration from artists such as John Foxx, Martin Dupont (with whom Andrew has collaborated on a track), Experimental Products, and early OMD.

True to their commitment to authentic analog sound, Op-art eschews digital plug-ins in favor of a wide array of analog synthesizers and outboard rack effects units. The album features a diverse collection of synthesizers including the EML 500, Arp Odyssey, Arp Omni2, Jupiter 6, Sh-02, Sh-101, Moog Rogue, and Roland Promars. Each piece of equipment contributes to the album’s lush, rich soundscapes, creating a tactile and immersive listening experience.

The Final Act, the title of the LP, is a testament to the duo's ability to blend catchy melodies with profound emotional depth. The album offers an introspective journey through themes of time passing, romantic entanglements, and existential reflections on an apocalyptic scale. With its evocative sound and thoughtful lyrics, The Final Act promises to resonate deeply with listeners, making it a compelling and significant debut from Op-art.

Cititrax is proud to present Scooterboys from the Pool, the debut LP from Another Body Found, the latest project from A//, best known for his pioneering work as Le Syndicat Électronique. Emerging from the depths of the French underground, ABF fuses dark electro, industrial, minimal synth, and wave into a sound that is both stark and visceral. With a focus on raw energy and haunting atmospheres, the project strips electronic music down to its essence—mechanical, hypnotic, and unrelentingly evocative.

Blending commanding rhythms with melancholic undertones, Scooterboys from the Pool is a descent into shadowy textures and dystopian landscapes, where driving basslines meet icy, mechanical beats in a pulsing haze of underground spirit.

At the heart of the album is the title track, Scooterboys from the Pool—a haunting rework of Bronski Beat’s iconic Smalltown Boy. Reimagined through ABF’s signature lens, this version strips the original to its essence, replacing its shimmering synths with something colder, heavier, and more urgent while preserving the emotional weight of its narrative. This track has been played at numerous DJ sets, and each time, it cuts through the room like a ghost from the past—achingly familiar yet transformed, stirring something deeply personal with its raw intensity.

This release is pressed on 160-gram black-in-milky-clear vinyl, housed in a 350gsm sleeve, and strictly limited to 500 copies.

Cititrax presents ‘Dream Bleeds’, a new vinyl release by Brighton, UK based producer L/F/D/M. L/F/D/M is Richard Smith who first emerged in 2013, inaugurating the Optimo Trax series with the Purple Maps EP. In 2014, he teamed up with former Factory Floor’s Dominic Butler to release two EP’s of hardware-driven atonal techno on Powell’s Diagonal Records. In 2015, Cititrax featured Moth Holes on Tracks Volume 2.

‘Dream Bleeds’ overflows with body jerking industrial, raw acid/techno, and hints of the warehouse sound of the late ‘90s and the caustic spirit of EBM.

Richard Smith says about ‘Dream Bleeds’, “attaching meaning to songs is often arbitrary but when the visceral feeling of music, particularly instrumental body music, is laid bare, the interaction is immediate and physical. These tracks thread together; each starting point completely open, each new step informed by the last. I find it interesting that the process is the same but the outcome somewhat unexpected; shaped by emotion, inspiration or even constraints of time, they evolve as they do in that time. They reach a different end point due to that evolution of circumstance.”

Cititrax is honored to introduce Bruta Non Calculant, a new project by Alaxis Andreas G, the mastermind behind Le Syndicat Electronique and numerous other analog electronic, experimental and esoteric industrial folk projects. Alaxis formed Bruta Non Calculant in 2006 along with his brother Victor-Yann (De Frontanel). Their debut album, World In A Tear, presents 10 tracks drenched in a dark european atmosphere complete with a sound fully formed and heroically executed. Themes of death, lust and unrequited love are all bound in this brown book-esque collection. The songs occupy their own space and communicate in their own language and as such almost seem to have the ability to alter time once the listener has succumbed to their discordant beauty. An unsurprisingly impressive comeback, Bruta Non Calculant’s debut album blends new wave elements with folkloric balladry impeccably, and approaches this with a modern sensibility.
