Hepcat, formed in 1989 in Los Angeles, California, by the late vocalist Greg Lee and keyboardist Deston Berry, has created a musically complex sound that combines ska, rocksteady, reggae, dub, soul, Caribbean melodies, deep, rich harmonies, and latin jazz elements that appeals to Rastas, skate punks, mods, and jazz enthusiasts alike. The term “Hepcat” originated from the word “Hep” which was early 1930’s slang pertaining to a devotee of jazz, especially swing. It was also the name of vocalist Alex Désert’s cat—“Hep-Cat.” Hepcat’s debut album, Out Of Nowhere, was released on Moon Records, in 1993, displaying its creative abilities as well as tight vocal and instrumental performance. Three years later, Scientific was released on BYO Records which fueled the band’s rising local notoriety. Hepcat’s 1997 album Right On Time and 2000’s Push ’n’ Shove, both released on RANCID’s Tim Armstrong’s Hellcat Records label, established the group as a pioneer of modern ska in the 1990s—one that was primarily influenced by the retro Jamaican rhythms of the 1960s. Hepcat’s signature style, sound, and live performance continue to impact new generations of music enthusiasts worldwide.

Stäläg 13’s history can be traced all the way back to 1981 when original vocalist Ron Baird founded the band in Oxnard, California. Along with DR. Know, Agression, and ILL Repute, Stäläg 13 is considered one of the big four Nardcore bands, influencing bands throughout the world with their take on fast and melodic hardcore. Stäläg 13 was formed in 1981 by original singer Ron Baird. The band was heavily influenced by East Coast hardcore (minor Threat, S.S.D., BAD Brains, and D.Y.S. among others) and is arguably the first West Coast hardcore punk band to espouse straight-edge themes in their lyrics. Hailing from Oxnard, California, the band was vital forerunners to what became known as Nardcore (Oxnard hardcore). Stäläg 13 are defined by two core hallmarks: their positive mental attitude and their intense and high-energy live shows. Stäläg 13 was described by Flipside Fanzine in a 1982 interview as “...a very hot and up-and-coming band who come from Oxnard, which is just north of L.A. They are very intense on stage and also put a lot of thought into their lyrics.” Over the years the band has been through several line-up changes, however the anchor of the band has been guitarist Blake Cruz who has kept the band running in one form or another over its long history. From its inception, Stäläg 13 played live often, gathering a large and loyal following in Southern California before venturing out on tours of the Western United States. Stäläg 13 recorded two early demo tapes in 1982 and 1983 before recording their highly influential album In Control in 1984, which was their only official recorded output during their brief, yet powerful, career in the 1980s. Stäläg 13 was a band poised on the cusp of a big future when it imploded

while preparing for a large-scale, three- month tour of North America to promote the

release of In Control. The band broke up in early 1985 leaving behind a hardcore legacy

that has seen In Control go from strength to strength. In Control has stood the test of time due to the high quality of the recording as well as the prowess of the musicians

playing, and the insightful and thought- provoking lyrics.

Circle Jerks are an American hardcore punk band, formed in 1979 in Los Angeles, California. The group was founded by former Black Flag vocalist Keith Morris and became one of the most influential and iconic bands in the punk community. Saoirse looks to talent from her home country for the next release on her trUst imprint. A versatile emotive four-tracker soaked in euphoric melodies and jacking basslines from Belfast born Swoose. With one eye on the past and another firmly on the future, Swoose’s amalgamation of sun-kissed house, 90s IDM, warm soul, and electronica has earmarked the artist as one of Ireland’s finest electronic talents. Lead track "Cubensis" has been one of the most ID'd tracks from Saoirse's sets over the last 2 years.

Volume 3 of the Trust XY recombination series again sees four unique artists channel sonic echoes from the label's past. Stenny is up first, the Italian producer whose name is synonymous with Ilian Tape's much acclaimed crossover of techno and bass music. He complements the deep pads of Versalife's 'Nova Prospekt' with a scorching bass line and rolling breaks programmed in his unmistakable style. Canadian producer and Planet Euphorique label owner D.Tiffany is a champion of complex percussions and an obvious choice to rework Alex Cortex's percussive electro anthem 'We Run Your Life'. Her take chops and warps Cortex's vocals around a twitching techno beat that's both experimental and effective. Side B has UK electro and breakbeat pioneer Clatterbox return to Trust, reshaping one of the very first Microthol tracks into modern form. At his hands 'Intertronic' turns into a bleeping and hissing, snarling and growling electro bass monster. Lastly Delsin's dub master and Trust alumni Vc-118a takes on 'Tides' by /dl/ms/, replacing the original's sparse funk with a low slung dub techno groove that serves as the foundation for perpetually cascading ebbs and flows of lush and dreamy soundwaves.

Dfl is an American punk rock band founded in 1991 in Los Angeles, California, by Tom Davis, Monty Messex, Adam (Ad-Rock) Horovitz, and Tony Converse. The band, which included a noted skateboarder, a first wave punk rocker, and a Beastie Boy, turned heads by kicking out raw and ragged hardcore at a time when punk rock was becoming slick, poppy, and safe. Slamming riffs and lyrics that alternated between serious issues, such as depression, and the silly, like why pizza is so tasty, garnered them critical acclaim and a loyal fan base that continues to exist through to today. Now available for the first time ever on 12-inch vinyl, the entire album was remastered by Mario C with the band's input. The deluxe reissue also includes a 20-page full-color oral history, a massive full color zine packed with unpublished flyers and, the pice de resistance, a complete, totally unreleased, live show that was recorded at a huge party at G-Son studios the day after album tracking was completed.

Mella Dee Presents Ryan, a new project from one of the UK’s most prolific electronic producers. Exploring a darker, experimental side of the mastermind behind ‘Techno Disco Tool’, the new project sees Ryan take things underground with new track ‘Static Movement’. Alongside the track, Ryan has announced his forthcoming EP Connected Experiences, a 4-track collection of essential club tools due for release on August 11 via DJ and Body Movements co-founder Saoirse’s imprint trUst. The landmark release will be the first time the label head has featured another artist's music and is testament to the direction of Mella Dee’s new musical project, Ryan.

Already doing damage in the club circuit with support from the likes of Ben UFO, Shanti Celeste, Midland and more, ‘Static Movement’ sees Ryan. go back to basics with a drum machine and analog synths, ending with an infinite groove. Speaking on the track, Ryan. explains: “Trust the process. My name is Ryan. This is a collection of music I wrote for the purpose of dancing. Those moments we can all get lost together and connect through experience. trUst is a label built on love and connection. I just want to thank Saoirse for the trust she has shown and the love she gives.”

In the summer of 1982, after recording three tracks for the first BYO record release, Someone Got Their Head Kicked In compilation, Youth Brigade set out in a big yellow school bus on an ambitious 30-city North American tour with fellow punk band Social Distortion. The now classic 1984 film Another State Of Mind chronicled the event. A premature version of Sound & Fury had been rushed together before the Another State Of Mind tour, but pressing was stopped at 800 copies as the band was not satisfied with the quality of the material and production. After about 30 shows and several breakdowns, they returned home to re-record their debut LP, Sound & Fury, with the legendary record producer Thom Wilson, keeping only four tracks from the original.
