A Brand You Can Trust is the classic 2009 debut album from hip-hop supergroup La Coka Nostra feturing House of Pain's Everlast alongside Danny Boy & DJ Lethal with Ill Bill (Non Phixion), and Slaine (Special Teamz). Additional contributions come from such hip hop elite as Snoop Dogg, Cypress Hill, Immortal Technique, Bun B and The Alchemist. A breath of fresh air in the days of contrived airbrushed rap music, Ill Bill explained that, "This record is a no holds barred burst of hardcore hip-hop to the fullest, representing everything we love about this art form, but feel is missing from the game right now." "This shit bangs," Slaine added. "We set out to make a boom bap hip-hop record, and we did that, but to stop there would be selling it short, because lyrically, musically, and sonically this album doesn't fit in a box." Though similar stylistically to the group's prior 2009 online releases, the debut album features songs grounded more in reality. Subjects touched upon include politics, death, drug addiction, raising a child and terrorism. AllMusic gave four out of five stars. Andrew Kameka of HipHopDX wrote that "the album is a mostly solid effort and exactly what someone would expect from a supergroup of like-minded members known for high-energy music". Adam Kennedy of the BBC while praising some of the moments of the album said "it's a tantalising parting taste of potential capabilities, yet until they improve a customer satisfaction hit rate that barely troubles one in three tunes here". Steve Juon of RapReviews gave it a seven out of ten. Thomas Quinlan of Exclaim! said "La Coka Nostra are an interesting collection of collaborators that live up to the hype".

Slaine's upcoming studio album "The King Of Everything Else", is scheduled for an August 19th release date through Suburban Noize. The album is set to feature collaborations with heavyweights Tech N9ne, Madchild, Bishop Lamont, Vinnie Paz, Reks and Termanology, and La Coka Nostra brethren ILL BILL. The album artwork for "The King Of Everything Else", was designed by legendary hip-hop artist Skam2, who has worked with everyone from Eminem, A Tribe Called Quest, D-12, Dizzy Wright, and ILL BILL, to rock group's like Linkin Park.

"The songs on this new album are extremely visual and I felt like the album cover needed to be an accompanying piece. I met Skam2 through Ill Bill a while back and had always dug his work," said Slaine. "I had an idea of what I wanted to do with the cover conceptually and thought he would be the perfect artist to execute it. He took the idea and ran with it. I love the results."

Throughout his musical career as a solo artist, or as a member of hip-hop supergroup La Coka Nostra, Slaine has always made his songs with a gritty, lyrical honesty. His latest autobiographical gorilla, "The King of Everything Else", is a cutting and revealing tell-all. If Behind The Music or E! True Hollywood Story dug this deep into an artist's psyche, they'd have to resurrect Kubrick to subdue all the madness. Slaine, meanwhile, navigates the chaos with impressive nihilistic gusto.

Canadian rapper Madchild has teamed with up-and-coming rapper, Obnoxious. When they got together the intention was to create a classic hip-hop record. The duo recorded at the Suburban Noize compound and laid down some vicious bars that exemplified the raw, gritty, and violent wordplay they loved. Taking inspiration from the places where Obnoxious grew up, the tougher Cartel Controlled Tijuana border neighborhoods of San Diego, the duo have created a deadly world on "Mobsters & Monsters". The songs take listeners back to the machete sharp rhymes, lyrical venom, and spellbinding beats fans have been clamoring for. "Mobsters and Monsters" will feature guest appearances by Ouija Macc, Sick Jacken and Henry AZ. The first single, "Black Out" has an accompanying video directed by Zabb King. Madchild's solo career and accomplishments as one-third of hip-hop crew Swollen Members have made him a legend in the game. Madchild helped put hip-hop on the map in his home country of Canada during the early 2000s, winning multiple Juno Awards and Much Music video awards while creating a legacy with Swollen Members. In 2012 Madchild launched his solo career with the release of his now classic debut album 'Dopesick', which would peak at #3 spot on the Canadian Billboard Top 200, and is certified Gold. With a grind rarely seen in veteran emcees, Madchild has continued to turn out gems, such as his joint album with Evidence "The Darkest Hour", and recently recording the joint album "Killing the Neighbors" with Tom MacDonald. Since signing with Suburban Noize Records, San Diego based emcee Obnoxious has been on a steady incline. Heard on King Klick's "We Want It All" and after releasing a series of solo singles like "Killshot", "Superstitious", and "Starstruck", Obnoxious' wordplay and rhymes have become razor sharp, reflecting a chaotic musical juxtaposition of grimy street life mixed with true hip-hop lyricism that will make your neck snap.
