Darone Sassounian returns off the heels of the Prerequisite 12” series with a new EP titled, ‘Goes On’. The A-side features a deep overture, sharing the same name as the title of the EP, “Goes On”, which is a slower building, down tempo, house track. Darone reaches deep within to express his emotions, as he tries to articulate with layers and inspirations stemming from jazz on this cut. With a different approach in mind, Darone changes the direction from the Prerequisite series on this one, right from the jump. The B-side features the sweaty and warm stepper titled, “Don’t Look Back”. Ranging at 115 BPM, Sassounian belts a soulful crescendo to the EP. Sounds stacked with a thick and organic bass line, vocal hums, percussive programming, and dusty pad action. This cut oozes with a moody feel and keeps the vibe on full drive. This is Rocky Hill!

Darone Sassounian returns on his imprint for the third and final installment of the Prerequisite series,"Prerequisite #5 / Prerequisite #6". The A-side features 'Prerequisite #5', which starts off on a slower and more soulful note. The track has a tight and moody progression that has influences drawn from inner city life and struggles in Los Angeles during the Summer of 2020. The B-side features 'Prerequisite #6', which has a repetitive and darker undertone, yet is intended for all dance floors across the board. This track delivers an atmospheric and punchy finale to the American-house inspired series programmed by Darone. Recorded in 2020, these tracks are an ode to the dance floors and the dim-lit basements. Nothing but raw music that encompasses a feeling, a moment. This is Rocky Hill.

Next up on Rocky Hill is a limited edition, vinyl only white label, featuring 2 edits licensed from Terrestrial Funk and Darone Sassounian's compilation from 2021, and two original tracks from LA - based DJ and producer, Lara Sarkissian. The A side (Silk Road Side), features two previous exclusives from Darone's compilation on Terrestrial Funk titled, 'Silk Road: Journey of the Armenian Diaspora (1971 - 1982)'. The two edits on the A side were only available digitally, on CD, and Cassette formats. A1 features an edit of Marten Yorgantz's "Ammenain Serdov [De Tout Coeur]" from NY-based DJ duo, Fundido. A2 features an edit of Jozeph Sefian's "Karoun E Yegel" from Darone Sassounian. The B Side (Lara Sarkissian Side), features two original tracks sampling duduk (Armenian woodwind), songs - named as Lezginka Dance Scene and Ojakhum Nightmare. The tracks are reworks of the originals from 2016 - 2017, when Sarkissian began the creation of her own unique process of synthesizing duduk as percussion, bass and voice. Both tracks have been used in her early live sets from 2017 - 2018. They're finally available now only on vinyl. This is Rocky Hill.

Returning fresh off of his last project 'Goes On EP', Darone is back with another 12". This time, his project pays homage to two places which he calls home. A juxtaposition of his birthplace, Los Angeles, and where he feels a strong connection, Armenia. The A-Side features 'Dance of the Sun Worshipers', which was written with the petroglyphs of Ughtasar and the Armenian Stonehenges of Syunik in mind. The henges in question were set as an astronomical observation tool to view the Milky Way Galaxy by the ancient natives of the land. Parts of the petroglyphs have carvings of beings dancing around a wheel of fire. A representation of the Sun or early signs of the Armenian Eternity Wheel. The B-Side features 'Far Away' by Sassounian and a remix of the same track by Byron The Aquarius. Far Away was written at the height of lockdown, with a local collective of the same name in mind. Operating as a cassette label, mixtape series, and party, Far Away was based in Los Angeles, run by Cooper Saver and Jen Ferrer. Darone would frequently attend their events in Los Angeles and find comfort in a community that he can call home. On remix duties, Byron The Aquarius delivers a raw and chuggy tip to Darone's track, 'Far Away'. A dub of the original, Byron programs this one into a full and thick driving force for the dance floor and the heads. This is Rocky Hill.
