Karhu Sweaters

Introduced in 1916, Karhu is a brand from Finland that outfitted some of the country’s most legendary runner who won Olympic Medals as well as the prestigious Boston Marathon in Karhu running shoes. Karhu’s custom Fulcrum technology has been developed in 1987, tested and later enhanced to perfection at the Jyväskylä University of Finland and the Iowa State University of the USA. Simply put, Fulcrum technology helps to run more effectively since the vertical impact could be reduced up to 1.5 cm with Karhu shoes. This is the reason for more target-orientated cushioning which leads to a more natural running feel and better acceleration. The Jyväskylä University proved that Karhu’s Fulcrum Direction Cushioning offers the ultimate comfort: The Stable Landing Sole reduces the pressure and ensures a balanced running style, Balanced Cusioning reduces the vertical impact and supports acceleration, slower and lower pronation enhances support, and the calf muscle got more energy. Karhu also offers neutral as well as stability-promoting options such as IRE (Increased Rolling Effect as used at Karhu’s Lightweight Neutral Model Flow), MRE (Maximum Rolling Effect as used at Karhu’s training model Fluid and Fast) plus MRS (Maximum Rolling Support as used at Karhu’s stabilizer model Strong).
